The Linda Blair Worldheart Foundation is a 501c3 non-profit California Corporation. Our work includes education the public, and working with state, local and national authorities to put an end to pet overpopulation as well as working at the national level to end illegal dogfighting. We visit our local shelters and find abandoned pets on death row, and we give them a second chance at a loving, permanent home. We are one of the few California rescue groups that rescue mothers and newborns (from one to five weeks of age), due to the high fee required by many shelters for their release of unaltered females who need tocontinue nursing their young. These animals are the first to be put to death in shelters. Shelters are unable to raise kittens and puppies and newborns cannot survive the diseases often found in such closely held captive environments. We give our rescued animals immediate medical care, proper nutrition, grooming, and socialization training. We have a few loving foster homes, but we need more caring foster parents. This temporary care can last up to a year so the animal can adjust and heal any physical or emotional wounds. And it always takes time to find the perfect loving home.
