Basketball is a happy, active, playful kitten who loves to race and tumble with her stepbrother and stepsisters! She came to us from San Bernardino County`s Devore shelter with her stepfamily. She has always been a bit shy of new sounds and people, however, so you will need to make some extra efforts so she will learn to trust you and warm up to you. Then she will be very sweet, loving, affectionate, enjoy lots of pets, and playing with the wand toy! Basketball also enjoys watching the fish app on your phone. She would probably do best in a quieter home and need some patience as she settles in. She gets along with other cats, especially her buddy Laszlo, who was recently adopted so she would love to have a new home with a friend to play and cuddle with!

Smittens isn’t just another cat rescue.
We are a coalition of volunteers with a spay/neuter mission, dedicated to helping both stray and owned animals in the greater San Diego area get fixed, receive veterinary care, and whatever else they may need! Smittens works with shelters and other rescues to route cats to proper vet care and eventual homes, and we take in stray cats who need help getting off the street. We also support TNR for feral cats, and assist cat and dog owners to get their own pets fixed and vaccinated at a low cost.
