💙 Meet Fred
If there were ever a dog who deserved a literal line of people waiting to meet him, it’s Fred. Like bring snacks. It might take a while.
Fred is a sweet, sweet boy with a heart big enough to power the entire shelter. His photos do not do him justice. In person, he is stunning. Soft eyes, goofy grins, and that unmistakable “pick me, pick me!” energy that makes you smile before you even realize it.
We honestly don’t understand how he’s still here. He’s beautiful. He’s silly. He’s amazing. He’s everything you want in a four legged best friend. He just hasn’t met his people yet. Maybe that’s you.
Fred is very active and athletic. He can scale small fences in a single bound, superhero style, so he needs an active family or individual who can keep up. He’s looking for someone who is equal parts “let’s go on an adventure” and “let’s snuggle on the couch with belly rubs.” Balance is important.
He’s ready for walks, hikes, car rides, couch cuddles, treats, more treats, and all the love you can give. Fred doesn’t need much. Just someone who sees what we see.

Visit us (by appointment only) at our physical location in Blairsville, GA 30512. Please e-mail us your contact info. and which pet you are interested in. We will happily arrange a meeting with that pet.
We also hold adoptions most Saturdays from 10-4 at the Alpharetta Petsmart. It is located across from the North Point Mall. Also Petco in Milton/Alpharetta. Please e-mail us for specific dates and locations. Not all pets at our shelter are at the adoption event. If you would like to see a certain pet at an event, e-mail us and let us know which one you are interested in.

The mission of Castoff Pet Rescue is to save and nurture homeless dogs; to match companion animals with loving, life-long homes; to foster responsible pet care; to control overpopulation in our community through spay/neuter programs; and to assist other shelters and rescue groups in any endeavor to benefit the animals. We believe that the same kindness, compassion, and generosity we extend to our two-legged neighbors should be given to our four-legged friends because they are not able to speak for themselves.
