My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Guerro was brought in by Humane Law Enforcement on November 13, 2025.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Guerro, a handsome pup who's come a long way since arriving underweight - and he's already feeling much better! This handsome, energetic guy has a big personality and an even bigger zest for life. Guerro is smart and playful but can have a hard time keeping all that enthusiasm in check, so he's looking for a family ready to help him channel his energy through training, exercise, and plenty of mental enrichment. He can be a bit reactive to other dogs at first but often makes friends once he gets to know them. While he's done well with kids in the past, his jumpy, mouthy play style means he's looking for a home without children under 8. If you're looking for a fun, loyal, and lively companion who's always up for an adventure, Guerro might just be your guy!

At SDHS:
Guerro has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. Guerro is now ready for his new home!

Excitable Dog: This pet requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about them.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
