My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Turmeric — the emotional support spice you didn’t know you needed, lightly seasoned, gently applied, and absolutely judging the chaos from three feet away.

She’s the type of puppy who sneaks into your heart the way turmeric sneaks into a recipe — you don’t notice it at first, and then suddenly everything is warmer and better and you’re emotionally attached. Her love language is the nose boop. You know how you see a puppy online and your brain immediately goes, “I would like to boop that nose”? Yeah. Turmeric feels that exact same urge… but about people. She sees a human and her inner monologue is basically: “That face looks boopable. And then—boop. Basically, if you like your affection seasoned, subtle, and delivered via tiny nose taps, Turmeric is your girl.

Turmeric is a 6-week-old, 9-lb female Pyr/Lab mix (based on mama Rosemary’s looks)… and after that? ✨✨ the ancestry vibes get real mysterious ✨✨ What we do know: mom weighs about 72 lbs and is a whole, gorgeous cloud of a dog. What we suspect: dad was not only incredibly handsome but possibly borderline pony-sized. Based on Turmeric and her siblings’ current size, we’re guessing she’ll land somewhere in the 60–70ish lb range when fully grown… but listen. We could be spot on. We could be wildly incorrect. That’s half the fun. Adopting Turmeric means signing up for a daily breed-guessing journey, a weight-guessing journey, and the extremely important activity of placing playful bets with your partner like, “Okay but WHAT if she’s secretly part bear?”
or “No because those paws say draft horse.” Turmeric (and her siblings) came to us after their mama was rescued off the urgent list very pregnant, so this sweet little spice was born in foster care and has quite literally known nothing but love since day one. No rough starts. No scary chapters. Just warmth, safety, gentle humans, and the confidence to politely boop people she finds acceptable.

Turmeric’s social résumé is short, but enthusiastic. Thanks to a few highly unauthorized puppy room breaches and some through-the-gate encounters with the resident aunties, we can confidently say: Turmeric is thrilled to meet literally everyone. Dogs? Amazing. New friends? Fantastic. Personal introductions she was not formally invited to? Absolutely yes. She approaches other dogs with pure optimism and zero malice, like, “Hi, are we best friends now or what…?” Cats, however, remain a mystery. No feline interviews have been conducted at this time, so their reactions to being gently booped by a tiny spice girl are still unknown. As for kids — also untested, but if we were placing bets (and we always are), Turmeric would probably be the safer choice compared to some of her more… enthusiastic siblings. She’s milder, calmer, and significantly less committed to the art of land-shark behaviour.

Turmeric is what happens when a puppy refuses to be predictable. Most of the time, she’s on the quieter side — the kind of pup who, when the room gets loud and chaotic, calmly grabs a toy and says, “I will be over here processing my thoughts,” while she chews in peace. Very mature. Very grounded. And then… because she is still a puppy and does not believe in labels, she’ll randomly launch herself into your lap, start playing with your hair, and remind you that she, in fact, does have a playful and silly side. She’s not big on licking like some of the other pups. No, Turmeric prefers boops. Gentle, deliberate nose taps. Consistent. Intentional. I don’t think I’ve ever met a puppy so committed to booping as her primary form of affection, and honestly? It works for her, its her thing, and it will be something still talked about years down the road with her new family when they recall what their favorite thing about her is. Energy-wise, she’s sitting at about a 6 out of 10, followed by a hard, dramatic crash like a phone that went from 40% to dead with no warning. One minute she’s quietly vibing, the next she’s asleep mid-existence. Balanced. Mysterious. Perfectly seasoned.

Your mission — should you choose to accept it — is to guide Turmeric into becoming the kind of quietly perfect dog who makes people say, “Wow, she’s so calm,” and make you smile with pride. Potty training? Yours. Turmeric was not born with a user manual or an understanding of indoor plumbing. Socialization? Also yours. She’s naturally thoughtful and gentle, but she still needs to meet people, dogs, kids, noises, and whatever unholy demon lives inside the rolling trash bin that offends puppies everywhere. Training? Yes. Absolutely. Fully your responsibility. Turmeric is not studying for obedience school in her downtime. She is a blank notebook. A soft little sponge. A baby spice with unlimited potential and zero life skills. What she does bring to the table is sweetness, balance, and a calm little soul wrapped in puppy fuzz. With patience, guidance, and a sense of humor, she’s going to grow into something truly wonderful. 💛

So here’s the deal: if you’re into gentle souls, polite boops, quiet confidence, and the occasional surprise lap launch, Turmeric is absolutely your girl. If you would like to apply for the privilege of being booped daily, you must fill out an adoption application at https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app so we can send it over to her foster family. This is not optional. Turmeric will not be accepting vibes, comments, or “I want her 😍” as a legally binding agreement. Pickup will be in Broken Arrow, and please note — she cannot go home until after February 24th. No exceptions.

Apply responsibly. Boops await.
