Hi! My name is Luke and here is a bit more about me:
My Journey My history before foster care is a bit of a mystery. I previously lived in a busy home with lots of children and a dog, and it was overwhelming for me. Since moving into a calmer environment, I’ve been able to decompress and start feeling safer at my own pace.
My Social Life I’m deeply bonded to my sister, Leia — I’m her devoted shadow and protector. We play nonstop and curl up together in the sweetest cuddle puddles. Being together helps me feel secure and confident. Children and loud environments are scary for me, and I do best without them. I’ve met dogs and can confidently say they’re not my thing. I feel most comfortable in a quiet, predictable setting with gentle humans who move slowly and let me set the pace.
My Personality I’m curious and playful once I feel safe, with a big love for laser pointers and feather toys. I enjoy exploring my space, lounging in the window, and watching birds and people go by. New people make me nervous at first, and I need time to observe before trusting — but once I choose you, I’m all in. I’ll happily curl up in your lap and soak up as much affection as you’re willing to give.
I Enjoy… Laser pointers and feathered kick toys Churu tubes (my absolute favorite!) Bird-watching from the window Being pet all over once I’m comfortable Being picked up and cuddled by people I trust
I’m Not a Fan Of… Dogs, children, and loud or chaotic environments are stressful for me. When things get noisy, I tend to hide until it feels safe again. I’ll eat just about anything, but Churu treats are definitely the way to my heart.
What Makes Me Special My bond with my sister Leia is incredibly special — when she calls for me, I come running. I’m her protector, her playmate, and her constant companion.
My Perfect Home I would thrive in a quiet, low-stress home with patient adopters who understand that trust takes time. Once I feel safe, I’ll reward you with loyalty, affection, and constant companionship — following my favorite people from room to room and soaking up every moment together. A forever home with my sister Leia would be my dream come true.
Young kittens are adopted in pairs or to a home with another playful kitty.

More about this rescue
Smittens isn’t just another cat rescue.
We are a coalition of volunteers with a spay/neuter mission, dedicated to helping both stray and owned animals in the greater San Diego area get fixed, receive veterinary care, and whatever else they may need! Smittens works with shelters and other rescues to route cats to proper vet care and eventual homes, and we take in stray cats who need help getting off the street. We also support TNR for feral cats, and assist cat and dog owners to get their own pets fixed and vaccinated at a low cost.
