My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello! My name is Yulmo and here is some info about me:

PHYSICAL INFO:

  • Breed: Jindo / Spitz Mix

  • Age: 2 years 1 month old

  • Gender: Female

  • Weight: 14 lbs (6.4 kg)

  • Height: 35 cm (paws to top of my head)

  • Length: 45 cm (head to butt)

  • Current Location: S. KOREA

RESCUE STORY - I was rescued by Adogs staffs who volunteered for winter preparation at the Gimje City Shelter. They witnessed me shivering in the cold wind and were worried with fear of me being exposed to disease. Thankfully, they rushed to rescue me just in time!

TEMPERAMENT - I may seem a little shy at first, but I quickly switch into “people-loving mode.” If someone approaches me directly, I may bark briefly out of fear, but when a person sits nearby calmly, I will approach them on own and immediately roll over to show my belly. Once I becomes familiar with someone, I can be very affectionate, loyal, and loving.
I also get along well with other dogs and coexists peacefully with my shelter friends!

ENERGY LEVEL – Low to Medium . I get playful sometimes with other dogs or when she is getting treats but my favourite thing to do is cuddle up with humans or go on walks with them!

GETS ALONG WITH:

  • Kids – Unknown. Haven’t met children before so unsure how I will react.

  • Dogs –  Yes . I don't really mind the company of other dogs but I am more focused on humans. I do play with other dogs but if a human is nearby, my eyes will only be on the human.

  • Cats – Unknown. Haven’t met cats before so unsure how I will react.

PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around squirrels/rabbits etc., so my adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise.

TRAINING:

  • Leash skills – I do really well on leash. I love going out on a walk! Here is a video of me on leash! I know what leash walking is and I will try to keep up the speed of the person holding the leash even with my short legs!

    • I will need an adopter who is happy to work with me on my leash manners. A well-fitted harness and some dedicated leash training will help set me up for success!

  • House trained – Work in progress. Frequent potty breaks and positive reinforcement will help me learn housetraining in my new home :)

Please Note: WCP highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives.

HEALTH NOTES:

  • NOTE: I was previously diagnosed with heartworm and showed right heart enlargement and tricuspid valve regurgitation, after receiving treatment I have made a full recovery! My medical report will be available to my adopter.

  • I am spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. I will come to Canada with proof of all my vaccines and test records.

  • I will be tested for Heartworm etc. before flying to Canada.

NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter.

ADOPTION FEE:

  • My adoption fee is $840.00 CAD (including 5% GST & 7% PST), which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver.

The info included in each WCP bio is provided to us from the international rescuer. WCP does not have in-person access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions, although we ask for video proof of a dog's attributes wherever possible. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person(s) adopting them and the environment in which they live.

WCP is unable to guarantee the accuracy of a dogs age and/or breed. These are strictly "best guesses" based on veterinary exams and their educated estimates.
