My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Fig is a cream and chocolate Himalayan male who is approximately 10 years old.

Meet Fig! Fig is a stunning, fluffy gentleman with the most beautiful long mane to match his equally big personality. He absolutely loves to be brushed, you could brush him for hours and he would happily soak up every second. It’s a good thing he enjoys it so much, because his luxurious coat will require daily brushing to keep it tangle-free and looking its best.

Fig is a big lover boy who thrives on companionship. He enjoys affection on his own terms. When he chooses you as his person in that moment, it feels extra special. He loves being near his people and would do best in a home where he has consistent companionship and lots of opportunities for interaction.

Don’t let his dignified looks fool you, Fig has a big playful side too. He loves chasing and pouncing on his toys and just has the best time during playtime. Watching all that fluff bounce around is all apart of his charm.

When it comes to nail trims, Fig isn’t the biggest fan. He can be a bit of a wiggle worm, but there’s no malice behind it, he just needs calm, patient handling and a gentle approach to grooming tasks like nail trims. With understanding and consistency, he does just fine.

As a Himalayan, Fig will require ongoing coat maintenance and regular grooming as part of his routine care. His future family should be prepared to commit to daily brushing, routine nail trims, and regular veterinary checkups to keep him feeling his best.

Fig would love a home where he can be adored, brushed to his heart’s content, and given the companionship he thrives on. Fig would likely do very well with another cat or dog companion, with a proper and slow introduction. In return, he offers affection, playfulness, and the kind of devoted presence only a true lover boy can give.

Fig is neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated for FVRCP and rabies. He is FIV and FeLV negative and on parasite preventions. His adoption fee is $300. To apply, please submit an adoption application.

Additional adoption info

Most of our cats live in foster homes. Some are available to meet at satellite locations such as Pet Valu and Ren's Depot. A few foster homes are available to meet and greets at their home, or we also do meet and greets at request at our shelter prior to adoption. Most of these results in same day adoptions, and only take place after an adoption interview.
