Sweet, playful Angel is a very special baby! She is not the brightest puppy but her personality shines! She had a traumatic pre-natal brain injury, which causes her to be a little slow and fearful of stranger, but she just wants to be loved and pampered once she knows you. She is looking for an adopter OR local foster. See her in action: https://youtu.be/pzkg5YSiTaQ

Story
Violet was rescued from the streets of Tijuana when she was two-months old. I adopted her when she was 5 months old. I met her in San Diego and she's been with me now in Riverside for two years. She shows much less of the effects - really just timidity - of her experience on the streets of Tijuana and she's been able to socialize well with other dogs and people for some time now. My personal impression is she's a gentle spirited dog and affectionate with those she knows and trusts. I believe she's well adjusted in the environment she knows. She's probably best as a single pet. I also think she would be a great fit for an active (walks mostly - but she could be a running partner), somewhat experienced pet owner. She could also fit in a household of a family with older children. She knows vocal and hand commands. Sit, Stay, Wait, Leave it, Come, Follow, Paw. Looking for a place where she can run and be the active dog she is.

He came from a shelter they believed had been hit by a car he had a broken pelvis and injured leg, but we are fairly sure he was beaten. He was terrified of anything like a broom and pees and poops himself.  He's getting better every day. He needs a quiet home, cats are okay, but no male dogs. He can be a sweet boy but wants to trust but we can see it in his eyes as he sizes up every situation. He loves playing with the female dogs in his foster home and can spend hours outside just running and playing.  He weighs about 9 pounds, is microchipped and has been fully vaccinated. Neuter to be announced still recovering from a broken pelvis and injured leg. Please consider adopting a senior dog. They are passed over routinely in shelters and Chihuahua senior dogs who are black are then the number 2 breed most euthanized in shelters. Adopt don't shop! ##1371753##

He was rescued from the Long Beach shelter and came to us super shy and closed off. Tai’s forever home will need to have another outgoing dog, to show him how to be a dog, and a human who has a lot of love and patience to help bring out his personality full time. He is a very playful dog once he gets to know you and would do best in a low-traffic home. Having another dog is a must for Tai. 03/13/24 16:02 Dog was very nervous during impound, did not want to walk on a leash. Go slow.03/27/24 15:25 Dog is still scared in this environment. If you put your hand out for him to sniff, he will snarl and growl at you. Use caution.04/04/24 15:34 Dog doesnt growl as easily as he did at first, but he still isnt looking for affection. He is still a little stiff and silent when you approach. He is very quiet and reserved.

Story
03/13/24 Fearful during intake, wouldn`t walk on leash or allow to check age,03/14/24 08:46 dog is jumpy and stressed, ok to slowly handle, re-scanned and got weight 03/29/24 13:26 took out to the play yard for picture. Didn`t want to put leash on but finally got it on him. Walked him to the yard without issue and removed the leash to give him a chance to shake off his stress. He walked around the yard, sniffing but didn`t want anything to do with the handlers. Showed no interest in toys, sounds or treats. just kept walking the perimeter. Avoided the leash again but once on, gave no issue returning to his kennel.04/02/24 12:18 dog is not kenneling well, he is anxious and non stop barking. I had him out to exercise in the pay yard. He is not friendly, does not seek out attention or affection. He avoids all handling and will try to correct you if you insist with a quick nip. 04/05/24 08:29 He is an older boy and deteriorating in the kennel. His behavior reminds me of a senior pup with doggy dementia or anxiety but their is no diagnosis for him. He just can`t seem to find comfort with anything or anyone.04/09/24 16:30 Took out for a temp test with another calm, senior. Both did well, He even wagged his tail a little which it the happiest we have ever seen him. No aggression seen from either..
