You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Zorro is such a sweet boy!! Unfortunately his owner had to surrender him to TLC K9 Rescue because his dad got very sick. Zorro is a sweet pure breed Basenji who is super playful, loving, affectionate, and gives lots of kisses too. But as all Basenji's he can be high-spirited, curious, charming, clownish, but can also be aloof, independent and self-contained. He typically doesn't like being left alone, so if you work at home he'll be right at your feet or laying in his kennel. Zorro adores people, older considerate children and likes to play with other friendly dogs. He is crate, potty and leash trained. He's a smart boy who has learned several commands immediately. He loves his walks, but he must be kept on leash at all times!!! We are looking for an experienced family with the breed. Violet was rescued from the streets of Tijuana when she was two-months old. I adopted her when she was 5 months old. I met her in San Diego and she's been with me now in Riverside for two years. She shows much less of the effects - really just timidity - of her experience on the streets of Tijuana and she's been able to socialize well with other dogs and people for some time now. My personal impression is she's a gentle spirited dog and affectionate with those she knows and trusts. I believe she's well adjusted in the environment she knows. She's probably best as a single pet. I also think she would be a great fit for an active (walks mostly - but she could be a running partner), somewhat experienced pet owner. She could also fit in a household of a family with older children. She knows vocal and hand commands. Sit, Stay, Wait, Leave it, Come, Follow, Paw. Looking for a place where she can run and be the active dog she is.

Arya is an 8 year old Basenji/Jack Russel mix who loves cuddles and attention. She would do best in a home with no other pets (cats or dogs) and no small children and with someone who either works from home or is home alot! She struggles with separation anxiety which leads to accidents, chewing things and being angry. My husband and I try our best to give her all of the love and attention that she deserves and loves so much but now that we have a 2 year old toddler and we both work full time job outside of the home, we are not able to give her what she really needs. Someone who is versed in dog training could be very beneficial. She is up to date on all shots and spayed. She would be the perfect fit for.a family that is home often and able to giver her the correct training, love and attention that she desires!

Story

We adopted our Olaf 3 years ago from a high kill shelter while living in Korea at 6 weeks old and he has been with us ever since. We brought him back to California with us in June this year. Despite our best efforts to socialize him and expose him to as much as possible, at around 6 months old he started to show some pretty serious anxiety which seems to have worsened over time. He is extremely fearful of our 1.5 year old daughter and has developed reactivity to her which we have not been able to correct with training or medication. He has broken her skin on one occasion. Olaf would be better suited to a home with teenagers ( he seems to love them) or no children at all, and no other pets. He is very well trained, and knows all the basic commands. He rarely barks, walks well on a leash, and mostly ignores passing dogs unless he is approached by them. He plays well with some dogs, but is very selective and resource guards his toys (from dogs, NOT people).
