Hello- my name is Jenni! I was rescued with several other dogs from a property where our owner was no longer physically able to care for us. Thankfully Guardians of Florida Animal Rescue took us and provided the general and medical care we needed to be ready for forever homes! While I am still a little shy at first, I warm up very quickly once I know you- especially if you have some good treats! I am estimated at almost a year old as of mid May and look like my mix could include some basengi and/or chiweenie in a larger package. I have been friendly with other dogs here. I’ve only met cats a few times, but they seem okay, too. Due to my background before being rescued, I am looking for someone who will understand my shyness and be patient while I gain more confidence. I would love it if we could take some classes together so I can learn how to be the best dog possible!My $250 adoption fee includes vet check, up-to-date vaccinations, spay, microchip and deworming. He’s still learning that the world can be a fun and safe place, and he has already made so much progress in building his confidence. I have had Ernie now for three years almost. I rescued him so I don’t know his exact breed but I think he’s a basenji boxer mix. he is very well trained and does not have any accidents in the house and sleeps in his bed all night. He knows a lot of of commands like sit, stay, wait, and roll over and has good recall off his leash. His favorite thing to do is be outside and chase lizards and squirrels. He is the sweetest boy with me. He used to live with a big family and loved it. He has been boarded many times with other families and is always a sweet angel. Layla came to us with 7 puppies. She and her puppies were going to be euthanized due to overcrowding in the shelter. She weaned her puppies and they were adopted out. She was tested for heartworm and she was positive. She has gone through the 2 shot protocol and now she is on the mend. She’s a happy, goofy, sweet dog. We would love a home for her where she could play and be loved.
