Do you hate having privacy when you go to the restroom? Look no further!    Cherry is a 3 year old Basset Hound looking for her forever family. Her hobbies include  toting around her stuffies, taking naps right where you need to walk, and eating cheese. She is housebroken, crate trained, knows basic commands, walks nicely on a leash, and is great with other dogs. The cats have given her a zero star review because she enjoys singing the song of her people to them.    Cherry was nearly shut down when she arrived here but has made great strides. She will need continued assistance and patience to help her grow more confident.  She is still very uneasy with being touched unexpectedly, so young children would be terrifying for her.   Cherry is currently with a trainer who has graciously offered complimentary phone consults with her new family as part of her commitment to helping her live her best life.  ##1874175##

He has developed a prey drive living on the farm so we recommend a home without cats and small dogs / animals in an abundance of caution. I'm strong and healthy, and enjoy brisk walks, chasing after toys, and trotting around the backyard on nice days. I also love hanging out with my foster family, usually curled up at their feet in my dog bed, but will find a spot on the couch if my foster family assures me its ok (I always ask permission).  My personality is very sunny and warm - I love attention and being pet, but won't be bothersome when you're busy. My foster family has a 1 year old baby, and I'm always gentle with him, even when he tugs on my tail.  I am about 40 pounds,100% potty trained, go in a crate nicely, don't make lots of noise, and do well with all people and pets - basically the perfect dog! Hi, I'm Maleficent! My foster calls me Mal or Mally (or Mal-a-Moo). I was found with another dog and we were taken to the shelter. My companion was quickly adopted. I was very scared and did not trust anyone. But the shelter staff as able to help me come around and now that I am in a foster home it is difficult to tell that I was ever a feral dog. I do prefer women to men, but I like anyone who is willing to give me a treat. I am very treat motivated and that has worked well in helping me to be more social. My adoption fee is $200 locally and includes all of the necessary vaccines, spay, and microchip. I am also undergoing treatment for heartworms, which is provided by the rescue.
