Cooper is such an amazing boy! He came to us with disc issues, but he's on the mend and working toward full mobility. Cooper is a sweet boy who just wants to be around his humans at all times. He will look deeply, soulfully into your eyes! It takes him some time to warm up to new dogs, but he's good once he does. Cooper's foster says he's the sweetest Velcro dog ever, but he'll voice his displeasure when left home alone. ##2513288##

It truly breaks my heart to have to rehome Hank. He is a sweet, cuddly, energetic boy who is in need of an experienced dog owner and private training classes. I first met Hank in March of this year and loved him instantly. Since adopting him, I've had the pleasure of learning he's a good boy with lots of excitement and curiosity toward life. He would do very well in a home with a yard. The bulk of his training should probably go to helping him learn to reign in his excitement (and not scare nearby humans/dogs). His is still very much in his stubborn puppyhood- part of his charm!- but can pick up commands easily. It truly is an issue of teaching him to regulate himself. I want to make sure he has a good home, a loving owner and the resources to make him successful and happy. Adoption is the price of posting.

Meet Quinn, a 10-year-old senior who was found as a stray and deserves SO MUCH MORE!   She’s friendly with other dogs and seems okay with cats.  All she wants is love and a comfortable place to rest while we determine if there’s anything more than her weight affecting her health.  This is heartbreaking, and Quinn deserves so much better! To meet this Sweet beagle boy via video chat, please send a completed application form via www.savesomesouls.com 6 years old Casie is only 24 lb and very sweet and loving. He loves to get petted and loves being a velcro dog. He can be a single dog or have a home with another. Casie is quite an easy pup as long as he gets to be around his human. His foster mom adores him. She takes him to her work and her coworkers take turns to spend time with him. He is also very obedient, housebroken, and very well-behaved. Casie has a very sad story and therefore we are looking for the kindest, most patient home for him. Casie was saved from a local high kill shelter in Houston where his sister and him were brought in as found animals. However, the owner, when contacted via microchip, came in and took the sister and left Casie behind as he could only afford one of them. Casie was a staff favorite and he got out. He then went to an adoptive home where he was very loved, but their existing dog was not ready to have a new friend, and got jealous, and never accepted Casie. So amidst tears, they had to return the sweet boy Casie now lives in a foster home with multiple dogs and cats and does very well with everyone. He will do great in a home where he gets a lot of attention, walks, and stability. Casie is fully vetted, neutered, chipped, heartworm negative and is kept on preventatives. Casie's adoption fee includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter surgery and recovery, heartworm and flea prevention), a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality Harness and Interstate Health Certificate for our out of state adopters. He is being fostered in Indiana, but can travel to many states and even Canada for the right home. Casie can be an apartment or condo pup. However, yards, if any, MUST BE adequately and fully fenced to adopt our pups. We do not accept electric or underground fences. To meet this sweet pup via facetime or whatsapp or other video chat apps, please send a completed application form via www.savesomesouls.com Our dogs are fully assessed by foster parents, vets and behaviorists, as well as videos and video chats are available to observe their manners in public. We are extremely transparent and like to share everything negative and positive with the adopters, to ensure it's a good fit and they are not returned to us, as the trips are very stressful on them. If, after meeting a pup, the foster parent or the adoption applicant do not feel they are a good fit for each other, we often offer other pups who are better fit. Houston is home to million strays, many who are abandoned, many born on the streets, many who escaped while living in the yard, which is common in Texas. Since our rescue does not get grants that shelters get, we use adoption fee to help the pups and kitties in our care. Your adoption fee goes towards vetting and feeding our long term and permanent fosters, and unadoptable pups, as well as towards the monthly care and preventatives etc of our pets. By adopting one pup from our rescue, you make room for another dog to be rescued from our high kill shelter, thus becoming an integral part of our mission to save as many unfortunate dogs off the streets and shelters as possible. So Thank You for choosing to rescue, and not go to a breeder.
