Bambi was first found with her daughter, Thumper, at a flea market after rescuers were notified that both had been dumped when they were no longer considered “salable.” Despite this rough start, Bambi’s dream came true when rescuers brought her and her daughter into our care. Now, Bambi loves spending her time running and playing in the yard with Thumper. Her little ears flop through the air as she runs around without a care in the world. After a long day of fun, Bambi enjoys cuddling with her daughter on a warm blanket, surrounded by plushies. This sweet pup loves to play and show affection, and she hopes to find the perfect home where she can live out the rest of her fairytale life. It truly breaks my heart to have to rehome Hank. He is a sweet, cuddly, energetic boy who is in need of an experienced dog owner and private training classes. I first met Hank in March of this year and loved him instantly. Since adopting him, I've had the pleasure of learning he's a good boy with lots of excitement and curiosity toward life. He would do very well in a home with a yard. The bulk of his training should probably go to helping him learn to reign in his excitement (and not scare nearby humans/dogs). His is still very much in his stubborn puppyhood- part of his charm!- but can pick up commands easily. It truly is an issue of teaching him to regulate himself. I want to make sure he has a good home, a loving owner and the resources to make him successful and happy. Adoption is the price of posting.

He will look deeply, soulfully into your eyes! It takes him some time to warm up to new dogs, but he's good once he does. Amos is a 7 y/o chocolate beagle mix who came to HBHR with a large group of beagles from a hoarding situation in the summer of 2023. It has taken a long time for any of these beagles to become socialized, but Amos has finally made it! Amos has good house manners with the use of a dog door. He will occasionally mark the food bowl of another male but that is more to do with alpha status than manners! He rarely destroys toys and leaves things alone unless they have touched food in the last month! His food drive is all beagle! Amos plays well with the pack and enjoys a good chase. He is alpha and will do best in a home with a more submissive partner. Amos has only recently started allowing people to pet him and really enjoys the attention. He does well around kids and would love having young people to chase around a yard! Amos has not made it to snuggling yet but seeks out one on one attention. He will get to that point, and it would be wonderful if he has a family of his own when he is ready for that next step!
