Story
This puppy is a tricolor purebred Beagle. His DOB is 12/31/2023. He was the runt from his litter, our guess is that he’ll be 25lbs or less at full grown.
He had a limp on his back legs when he was smaller, we think that it was a slow development issue because he was very small since he was born, he was about the half of the size compared to his other 2 siblings in the litter. So we kept this puppy longer to follow up on his progress. He’s now almost 4 months old and is doing great! He’s very playful, he runs fast (the limp slowed him down when he was a smaller puppy) and he’s overall healthy. He’s not housebroken, he’s been kept indoors only with potty pads, we have adult dogs in our yard areas and we were afraid that they’d play rough with him and possibly hurt him and make it worse.
We took him to our Vet at 8 weeks old, and took him to other 2 follow up Vet checks after (at 11 and 14 weeks old). On his last Vet check our Vet and I discussed that he’s had lots of improvement which is a good sign, he thinks that he’ll be ok and have a normal life, he only recommended to have X-rays done once he turns 6 months old, to make sure all looks good.
Even though we think that this puppy will have a normal development at full grown due to his huge improvement, we’d like to place him in a family that would still be willing to keep him in case he ends up being a special needs dog, since at this point is too soon to tell 100% for sure that he’ll have a normal development.
Included with the puppy’s adoption:
- Vet records (3 Vet checks done)
- Vaccinations up to date (3 sets of DHPP and 1 Bordetella). He needs 1 more DHPP and Rabies in 2 more weeks to complete his immunization. (We’ll have them done if we still have him by then.)
- Dewormed up to date (2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 and 14 weeks old)
- Fecal test
- Heartworm/Flea/Tick prevention (Simparica Trio) - Would start after he receive all his vaccines*
- DNA/Health test results (Embark)
- Microchipped with lifetime enrollment (AKC reunite)
- AKC paperwork (optional)
- Puppy collar with microchip ID
- Puppy toy
- Puppy blanket
- Adoption contract
- Some of his current puppy kibble
As a side note, we neuter our dogs no sooner than 6 months old, so he’s not neutered yet. It will be required to get him neutered once he’s old enough.
