Story
Buddy is a Courtesy Post only and is not a Second Chance Dog Rescue dog. SCDR is not responsible for any ownership, behavior, health, and representations made by the owner with respect to this dog. You must contact his foster dad, RJ Casey at 949-701-7755 (call or text) My name is Buddy, I’m about 1½ years old, around 40 lbs, and I'm told I'm a Beagle/Boxer mix — which basically means I'm equal parts playful goofball and loyal cuddlebug.  I get along great with other dogs, I'm house-trained, and I even know how to use a doggie door (yes, l've got my diploma in "Good Boy Basics"). My short, sleek coat means I hardly shed - less vacuuming, more belly rubs. I'm also vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, and ready to join my forever family. As for my personality? Think of me as the perfect coffee blend: not too strong, not too mild, just right. I'm chill when you want peace and silly when you need a laugh. Basically, I'm the kind of guy who fits right in anywhere. If you're looking for a best friend who's loyal, fun, and easy to love - I'm your Buddy. Message them to meet me — I can't wait to be your new best friend.   Buddy is available to meet in the San Diego area. For further information or to meet Buddy, please contact his foster dad, RJ Casey at 949-701-7755 (call or text)October 14, 2025, 6:45 pm

Story
Meet our beautiful purebred female Beagle "Daisy Mae" :) She was found on the bones; you were able to see all her bones/ribs. She has recovered :) She has been under our Wellness program and is in great condition now and ready for her forever home. Daisy Mae is currently being raised around a large group of dogs, including a blind dog; which she learned very quickly she is blind and respects her space. She is very special and will make a great companion. She is calm; when needed, not the typical howling or barker Beagle. However she will bark when others do. She is so funny; she has her binky blanket and loves to be wrapped around it:) Daisy Loves to ride in the car and will make a great addition to any home who will offer her a forever home so she will never be hurt again. She is crate trained and loves her crate because she knows she will get a treat. She can stay calmly in there with her treat and toys. She loves to play tag of war - and loves any toys and the ball. She can make a great family addition or be a solo companion as well. Daisy is healthy, vaccinated, and has been spayed:) Are you ready to give them a forever home? Story
Olivia is a 3 years old tricolor Beagle girl. She’s 24lbs. She’s a mellow, sweet and gentle girl, she’s just shy with new people and new dogs. She loves being with her people once she warms to you. She enjoys walks, she walks good on a leash. Her and Oliver (a male Beagle we’ll post separately) were recently surrendered to us, we were told by their original family that they recently had a new baby, plus they have more kids, so their schedules became busier to own dogs and the dogs were spending all day left in the backyard, unfortunately. So Olivia is not house/potty trained. We’re currently working on crate training to sleep indoors at night and she’s been doing really well. We’ll be looking for a family who will have the time and commitment to properly care for Olivia and train her to become an indoor pet. A Beagle experienced family with a fenced backyard would be great. Olivia and Oliver can be adopted separately or together. They get along well but are not a bonded pair. Included with adoption: - Vet wellness exam - Vaccinations up to date (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies) - Rabies Certificate - Fecal test (Negative results) - FLEX4 test (Heartworm, Ehrlichia, Anaplasma and Lyme) (Negative results) - Heartworm/Flea/Tick/Worm preventive given up to date (Simparica Trio) - Microchip with prepaid lifetime enrollment (AKC reunite) - Spay surgery - Leash and collar with microchip ID collar tag - Adoption contract - Some of her current food Olivia is ready to be adopted. Pick up would be in San Diego, CA. Transportation could be arranged to the right home, if needed. If Olivia sounds like a good fit for your family, and you’re interested in adopting her, feel free to fill out our adoption application form and we’ll be back to you. Adoption fee is listed in this post.

Story
'Colby' Beagle/Spaniel X, male, 5 yr old, 27 lbs'Colby' Spaniel/Beagle Mix - Male 5 years - 27 lbsColby is an adorable 27 pound beagle mix that was hit by a car in Mexico and left to die on the side of the road. He was rescued by us and brought to the USA. We have had this little sweety in the rescue for a time now and are looking for the right home or a foster. He is good with other dogs and loves to play. He has a cart and drag bag. He does need his bladder expressed but we can teach you how to do that. He is NOT totally paraplegic (see video) but mostly. So he still wears a diaper/belly band when inside. But outside in the dog yard he plays and 'stumbles' about. But boy can he move!  Our adoption fee through our rescue covers the dog being fully vaccinated, micro-chipped and spayed/neutered, dewormed and flea treated. Story
Looking for a silly, outgoing, spunky and fun-loving Basset Hound and Boston Terrier mix to brighten your days? Then Heron may just be your guy! Heron originally came to us from a shelter in San Bernardino County, and he quickly made fast friends with everyone both two and four legged. His favorite pastimes at TBL include roaming the play yard with his buddies, playing fetch, going on weekend hikes with volunteers, and just being a ham for attention. You only need to meet him to know that this playful dude has a happy-go-lucky outlook on life and nothing will bring him down. Given his energy and tenacity, he would do best with an experienced owner that can keep him grounded and help set boundaries. Heron loves to give you kisses – whether your hands, arms, or face, he is not picky! He comes equipped with adorably squat legs, classic black and white coloring, constantly wagging tail, big inquisitive brown eyes, and happy smiling face. To those who know him well, and those he has established trust with, he is a very sweet, jolly, and obedient boy. Heron weighs around 30 pounds, a great size for most types of living situations. He is about 9 and a half years young (estimated DOB December 2011) but can still keep up with the best of them on long hikes and outdoor adventures. If Heron sounds like the perfect pup you have been looking for, come see if he is a match for you!If you'd like to meet Heron, please visit www.thebarkinglot.net/adoptTo initiate the adoption process for this dog, please complete our online application by clicking below. Story
Our Roger, is just a love bug:) he is a calm puppy, and loves to laid down on his bed and just give you a look with so much love of gratitude for giving him a safe and loving place to be fostered. :) he will be great with any family that will give him the time to get him out to be a busy body:) such as running, hiking, and he can even be with a laid back family as well. He has these gorgeous hazel eyes kind of green:) and we love his long ears:) A little more of his background: There were 7 total, 1 male has been adopted (Oreo) but we still have 6 boys and 1 girl left. They all have wonderful markings, of mixed breeds such as : Beagle, Bassett Hound, Labrador Retriever, Cattle- as dogs can have 7 different fathers. There are almost 4 1/2 months old now. Mama Mika is for adoption as well - however, she is a special needs dog. She was so abused that they damaged her eye and she lost it. Therefore, we had to perform surgery on her eye and removed to prevent future infections. She is very shy and so afraid of people. It will take that special angel who will have the patience with her to make her blossom again. She is coming along every day, and getting better but very slowly. She used to run from us - we left the food for her to eat and walk away. When we rescued her, she used to stuffed her mouth with food and run to the her puppies to throw up so they can eat. This is the situation when we found them up on a land-field hill sleeping inside tubes; they were about 2 months old and not getting enough food from mama so she will do this and throw up so they will eat. They had never seen people before, the poor little things were so scared. Now they are gorgeous beautiful healthy puppies waiting for their forever home. Mika is a wonderful mama who cared for the 7 of them - she is the example as how animals are just so wonderful in all ways -:) They have received all their 3 main core puppy vaccinations, dewormed, and spayed/neutered. Please open your home and hearts to these bundle of cuties:) Are you ready to give them a forever home? If so, Please text us at 619-576-0747 as 1st type of contact or email veronica.aaofusa@gmail.com or visit our website at www.aaofus.org and complete our application at the following link: http://aaofus.org/adoption-application.html . If approved, the adoption coordinator will reach out to you to schedule a Meet-and-Greet appointment. No appointments will be made unless we have received an application; therefore, we can match you with the best fit for you. Follow us on Instagram @aaofus where you can see more pics. Please allow 48 hours to process applications and respond back to set up appointments. Unfortunately, responses back to those who do not qualify are not possible due to high volume of applications. Donation Adoption fee includes up-to-date their 3 core puppy DHLPP vaccinations, spaying or neutering, deworming, flea medication, and a complementary health check up by a participating clinic near you. Please consider adopting one (or more!) of these fur babies! Due to high volume of calls; NO PHONE calls are accepted at this time - therefore, please text us or email us.- A minute of conscious - Please read:) We ask you Please to be SERIOUS adopters; as there have been so many people that are not ready. We set up meet & greet appointments, do a home visit or send them the address for some meet & greet locations, paperwork and suddenly they said they are not ready or spouse is not ready, etc. These fur kids have a very hard day the day of their appointment. Due to travelling we hold their food, so they won't get car sick. We bath them, some of them are schedule for grooming as you know it is stressful for them; then they have to travel with us picking up other rescued fur kids, and so on, it is a very stressful hard day for them for people to just cancel at last minute or not show up or do show up and just say they are not ready. Our time as well as your time is valuable. Please don't waste valuable time that is so precious for a rescued pet. Every single wasted time is a time that an animal will die because we didn't get to them on time to help them. In addition, of wasting gas and grooming fees which are paid by volunteers. Please take the time to put your shoes in the shoes of the volunteer and most of it to put your shoes on our rescued fur kids!! Please take a minute to tell yourself if you are ready to adopt and for this commitment. LIVE!! LOVE!! LAUGH!!
