She was all alone, without her mom or siblings, and far too young to survive on her own. Thankfully, by the grace of God, a kind Good Samaritan found her and reached out for help. Val was bottle-fed with love and dedication until she was old enough to eat soft food. â¤ï¸ Today, Val is 3 months old, fully potty trained, smart and lready learning some basic commands. 8-year-old ended up at the San Diego Humane Society when his previous family decided they no longer had time for him. We welcomed Bono as a Frosted Face to help him find the loving forever home he deserves. He weighs 23 lbs. Bono spent a month in a foster home, where we learned so much more about his personality. Here’s what his foster mom had to say about him: "Bono is an incredible pup, and we truly enjoyed having him with us! Here are the many good things we learned about Bono: * Bonds deeply with his people. He picked my husband as “his person” and always wanted to be near him. * Potty trained and knows commands sit, wait, and stay * Great on walks and absolutely loves long walks and adventures. * Loves to be talked to and he listens well when corrected. * Watches TV! We would put on Dog TV or YouTube videos, and Bono would happily sit in a chair watching dogs play — sometimes barking along at the screen. * Very quiet in the home. * Takes treats very gently/ * Loves wandering around the yard and helping with garden chores. If you want a constant co-pilot, Bono is your guy! * Loves baths. * Gets along well with our other dogs once he knows them. * Rides very nicely in the car. Things to be aware of: * Bono has a strong prey drive and should not be placed in a home with small animals such as hamsters, mice, or similar pets. He became very focused on rats in the orange trees and remembered exactly where he had seen them. * Bono needs daily exercise, but he also needs help settling and decompressing. Think of him a bit like a toddler — if he becomes overtired or overstimulated and doesn’t get downtime or a nap, he can become snarky. * Bono can become protective of his people when he is worried or stressed. When my husband was sick with kidney stones, Bono began guarding the hallway to the bedroom and charged at me when I came to check on him. This involved blustering and mouth contact, but no bite. Because of this behavior, I would recommend an adults-only home. * Potential separation anxiety. If my husband left, Bono would run around looking for him. This is when we would place Bono in a quiet area and use dog YouTube videos to keep him occupied. Overall, Bono is a loving, entertaining, loyal dog who will thrive with structure, exercise, and people who understand his need for both activity and downtime. 14-year-old Puggle was surrendered to Frosted Faces Foundation after his owner, suffering from worsening dementia, sadly became unable to care for herself or him. The son of his owner let us know that Puggle is a very sweet, loving boy who is great around children, cats, and other dogs. Puggle went on on a two-week Frosted Fling, so we could learn more about him while he enjoyed being in a home environment. He's been such a joy to have around that he's staying as a foster through to adoption! Here's all we've learned: Puggle has truly blossomed in his foster home! It doesn't take much to make this gentle, mellow boy happy. Being close to his people, soaking up a little sunshine, napping, and having a few treats are his favorite pastimes! Puggle is wonderful with his two large foster siblings and has not shown any aggression toward them or any other dogs he has encountered. He is calm and unbothered by all types of dogs, including when a younger resident dog tries to entice him to play. Puggle enjoys going for walks and has no problem keeping up with the other dogs. He has good leash manners, too! Puggle has enjoyed exploring all around San Diego, including walks at the bay, Downtown, Liberty Station, Chollas, and other parks. He also enjoys car rides and happily tags along wherever his foster mom goes. At the bay and pool, he’s content to watch the big dogs swim while he takes in the sunshine and nature. When home alone, Puggle just chills and usually spends his time sleeping in one of the dog beds. During longer periods away from home (more than about two hours), his foster recommends having him wear a belly band. He knows the SIT command and, while his hearing isn't great, he is very engaged and attentive. As you can see in Puggle’s photos, he has a mass on his left hind leg that is scheduled to be removed on October 21st, when he’ll also have a much-needed dental. Wouldn’t it be extra special if this sweet senior could recover from his procedures surrounded by the love and comfort of his forever family? We hope Puggle's next chapter will be filled with all the simple things he enjoys most: being part of a family, little adventures, and lots of love. A good Samaritan found her starving on the streets of Tijuana and couldn’t leave her behind. She took Angelina to the vet, then she took her to her home in San Diego, where she has lovingly cared for her while we search for the forever family she deserves. Angelina is spayed, fully vetted, house-trained, and truly one of those easy, gentle girls who simply wants to be loved. She adores dogs of all sizes and is especially sweet and gentle with her puppy foster friends. She loves walks, car rides, dog parks, cuddles, and being by your side. She’s mellow, affectionate, and just an absolute sweetheart. Angelina has been around cats and has not done well so we keep the cats separated, so she would do best in a cat-free home.
