This cutie pie was found roaming the streets in Mexicali and 120 weather. She was exhausted, dehydrated and hungry. Maria was covered in ticks and fleas but is like brand new now after a bath, Bravecto and some tender loving care. She has a joyful personality and is a joy to be with. Bono is an 8-year-old, 23-pound cutie who’s ready to find a loving home. He ended up at the San Diego Humane Society when his previous family no longer had the time to give him the life he deserves. Sweet Bono desperately wants your affection, but he just doesn’t know how to comfortably receive it yet. He loves being near you and hearing your voice. When Bono knows you, he will nuzzle into you and be bouncy and smiley and welcome your gentle pets. Bono loves the simple joys in life - leisurely walks, soaking up the sunshine, and cruising along on car rides. He is a smart pup who already knows several commands, including sit, wait, stay, and “go to your bed". He also seems to be house-trained. Bono would do best in an adults-only home where his people will be understanding that pets and snuggles (at least in the beginning) are not comfortable for him. A month after Roxy Jones was hit by a car and left with two broken legs and a luxated hip, she was brought to All God’s Creatures Animal Hospital by her owner, who requested that she be euthanized. After examining Roxy and reviewing X-rays, the veterinary team contacted us. We discussed covering the surgery to keep Roxy with her owner, but he declined, so on March 26th, she became a Frosted Face. Prior to having surgery, Roxy hung out in our lobby being sweet and friendly with everyone who visited. At 35 lbs., she is about the size of a beagle. Roxy gets along well with other dogs but is a little too interested in cats to live in a home with one. Roxy is currently recovering from surgery in a foster home with a special family who is giving her lots of TLC. Her foster mom shared this update: "The past week has been fun to see Roxy rest, relax, and let us know her little quirks. She’s a little feisty, loves mealtimes, lets us know when she needs to go outside, and sleeps soundly through the night. We found out that she loves to soak up the sun. Roxy hasn’t minded our dog, but lets him know if he gets too close. So far, so good. Lots of rest for her healing. She’s getting around just fine with her cast. She is a sweet companion."
