Story
This puppy has just arrived! They have come to us on transport from a shelter partner, were found as stray, or surrendered to our care by an owner. Puppies require a significant amount of structure, routine, time, patience, and training to learn how to behave properly in a home. The first few months of having a puppy is a critical time to establish boundaries and help your puppy understand what they can expect from you and what you expect from them. Remember, puppies aren’t born knowing how to live in a human’s world, it is up to you to teach them how to make good decisions in a positive and caring manner. The more positive interactions they have in their first year of life will set them up for better behavior in the future. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.

Story
UPDATE: Rubble recently graduated an 8 week Basic Obedience Training class at the Academy of Dog Training and Agility with Dr. Elwood. He was a star student and learned how to sit, stay, lay down, leave it, politely greet people, and walking loosely on a leash at your side. He also learned the command "Touch" and "watch" to help him focus during distracting situations. Dr. Elwood said that Rubble learned everything so quickly and would make a fabulous Rally, Agility, or other sport dog if someone was interested in more advanced training. His adopter will come with a coupon so they can participate in classes with the trainers he is familiar with and you can learn along side of him. Rubble is a friendly, affectionate and playful athletic dog who loves giving kisses to his favorite humans. He absolutely loves to go hiking and playing outside. Rubble has spent his almost 3 years of life in a kennel or shelter and he deserves to know what a loving home feels like! He is an all-round sweetheart who loves to play and would suit an active home without any children. Rubble does do well with cats and some dogs, but would need to meet them first. He would be an excellent companion for a young couple or individual who is looking for a dog to exercise with and cuddle up with on the couch at night after a day of adventures. If you are interested in meeting Rubble, please contact Cheyla's Rescue and submit an application!
