Based on her condition and demeanor, she was more than likely used as a breeding dog until she became “too old” — but those days are behind her now. What she’s shown us since arriving is nothing short of wonderful.She has been perfect in every way: gentle, affectionate, easygoing, and grateful for every bit of kindness. She’s currently living in our volunteer dorm, and everyone who meets her falls head over heels almost instantly. She soaks up attention, loves being near people, and has that soft, soulful presence that makes you feel calm just being around her.Despite all the love she’s getting here, Daylily is still waiting for the one thing she deserves most — a forever family of her own. She’s ready to trade her past for a future filled with comfort, companionship, and a home where she’ll finally be cherished.Daylily's adoption fee is $250, which helps support their medical care and preparation for adoption. This friend has just arrived to us on transport from a high-intake shelter partner! When our friends are new to us, we are often unsure of their full background. Our staff will spend some time getting to know them and update their bio with more information as we learn. They are pending interactions with animals until they have been cleared by our vet. Please note that we often are unsure of house, crate, car, and leash training status upon arrival. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! “MILLI VANILLI was rescued just before “snowmagedon” - she and her family had been left in a trailer when their senior owner needed more care. She is currently in a foster home where she’s getting plenty of socialization. Here’s what her foster mom has to say: Milli Vanilli is a sweet 1yr 3mo old former teen mom ready for her forever home! She is a beagle mix that found herself in need of rescue when her mom was admitted to a nursing home. Milli warmed up to her foster parents, 4 dogs, and 2 cats immediately. She has been somewhat fearful of new people in her new surroundings, but easy to win over with treats. Milli is housebroken and alerts when she needs to go outside. She fiercely loves &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143 and is loyal to those that love her. Milli Vanilli will be spayed on Feb 12, as well as vaccinated, heartworm tested and microchipped. She will patiently wait, loved and safe, for her new family.” Milli did have a nipping incident with the foster mom’s 18 year old son, Whom she had not yet met, when he came home the day she arrived. She was very slow to warm up to him. Because of this, we are recommending somebody who’s used to the “fight or flight“ behavior that frightened/unsocialized pups tend to present with - And somebody that can work with her ongoing socialization.
