Story
Ruger is now ready for adoption! While we don't know his exact mix, we do know that he is going to be a large dog. He is approx 4 - 5 months old and 36 lbs. We are looking for a home where he can be with another dog. Dog-savvy cats are okay, as well. He will need to have a home with a yard, and he likely has some type of hound and guardian breeds in him, so socialization, mental stimulation, and training must be a priority. He is almost 100% potty trained, and he LOVES to please his owner. Ruger is an intelligent dog and will be a great addition to a family that meets these requirements. Ruger has received rabies and bordetella vaccines, two rounds of 5-in-1 vaccines (3rd booster due 3/18), heartworm prevention, neuter, microchip, flea prevention, and dewormer. His adoption fee is $400.

Story
WE LOVE GILLIGAN!!! And we are sure you will, too! He's an adorable 3 year old, 20 lb beagle who's all tail wags & wiggles! Gilligan is a happy go lucky boy who wakes up every day with a smile on his face; he's just a little ray of sunshine! He does have neurological issues caused by brain damage due to a slight skull deformity. This could have been a congenital issue or perhaps trauma when he was born. As a result, Gilligan is permanently puppy-like in his behaviors & demeanor. He's a bit clumsy and uncoordinated but still loves racing around the yard & wrestling with other dogs. He's mischievous and is fascinated by feet when you are walking; he's such a silly boy! Gilligan is getting the idea of potty training but it seems that he might need to always wear a diaper when indoors ... we just aren't sure yet. Because of his brain damage, he's a little slow ... but he's eager to please and so much wants to make his "people" happy! Gilligan loves to go on walks and is absolutely perfect in the car; he lies down & goes to sleep immediately. The car noise lulls him into a deep snooze. Gilligan's perfect Furever Home will have a fenced in yard, a playful dog companion and someone who is home with him most of the time. If you think Gilligan would be a good fit for you, please let us know! His adoption fee is $225; he is neutered, current on vaccinations, microchipped and on monthly heartworm / flea preventative. And he's also had his teeth cleaned! Applications are available at waldosmuttleycrew.org . (Indianapolis area)

Story
4 year old beagle, Rafferty, is such a sweetheart!!! He is the survivor of a Tennessee puppy mill that had 350 beagles; he had escaped his pen at about 4 months old and lived loose until we got him at about 2 years old. He was basically feral and, although completely non-aggressive, avoided people whenever possible. Well, 24 months later, this brave boy now relishes armpit scratches & tummy rubs and is the first one on the couch so he can get the prime spot closest to his foster mom. Rafferty sleeps in bed with his foster mom & his doggy siblings and expects at least a few minutes of massage before going to sleep. Rafferty is still timid with new people but, if they are gentle, will soon be leaning in for attention from them. Because he has never known life without other canines around, he absolutely must have a confident dog in his new home. Although Raff isn't a huge "player", he will occasionally wrestle a little bit or do a few racing laps around the yard with his doggy friends. Mostly, he likes to explore the yard with them and have them nearby. Rafferty has learned to walk on a leash but is still tentative in new places. Because of his fear issues, he will definitely need a calm & patient environment with a physically fenced in yard in which to continue to learn that the world is a safe place. No children under 16 please as this would be overwhelming for him. About 4 months ago, Rafferty did herniate a disc but it was healed through a month of steroids and rest. It's possible that Raff might have occasional reoccurrences of back pain just as people do. A home with many flights of stairs is not recommended as this would increase likelihood of re-injury. He is crate trained and potty trained and is not a big barker so is an easy room mate. Rafferty's adoption fee is $250; he has been neutered, microchipped and is current on vaccinations. Additionally, he received a Proheart 12 injection in July which protects him from heartworms for an entire year. Depending on when he is adopted, we will add on an additional $8/month for the remaining months of heartworm prevention coverage. Applications are available at waldosmuttleycrew.org . Story
Red is a 4-year-old tri-color beagle weighing about 35 lbs who is personality personified!!! He has never met a stranger and loves to make new friends. He likes to serve as one of the "greeting committee" when people come to visit the Waldo’s Dog Dorm and welcomes people of all shapes, sizes, sexes and ages. Red is a happy-go-lucky, mischievous boy. He's our leprechaun who always searches for the toys and is known to counter surf on occasion. Red is active and so much fun! He thrives on games of chase and wrestling with all his doggy friends. However, when not playing, Red wants to cuddle for ear massages and tummy rubs. Although good with most dogs, Red is a pretty dominant male. He is able to be in the play yards with other males and does fine, but he does not do well with other dominant males and will stand his ground. His favorite playmates are the girls, so we feel that a very playful female is what he needs in his forever home. Red wouldn't do well as an "only dog," as he takes so much joy in rough housing and doing zoomies with all the other dogs at Camp Waldo. Also, because he is very active and mischievous, he would become bored if he didn't have a very playful "sister dog" which would lead to destructiveness and, more importantly, Red just wouldn't be happy. Red's ideal home will have a large fenced-in yard, a gregarious friend and people who will give him the activity he needs as well as the attention he craves. He is truly an amazing, happy wonderful boy who will make a fabulous family member. Red's adoption fee is $250. He's neutered, microchipped, current on vaccinations as well as monthly heartworm/flea prevention.

Story
Meet the dynamic duo ... Dory & Luther! This pair will have you smiling in no time with their hijinks and antics! They just LOVE snuggles and cuddles! But when they aren't getting ear scratches and tummy rubs, they revel in games of chase and wrestling in the yard. Dory gets very proud of herself when she finds a toy and prances around like a racehorse with her prize in her mouth. Luther is our mischievous boy who is known to steal a treat from a countertop when he thinks no one is looking. Unfortunately, their first year and a half was not good. They were confiscated after a police raid of a drug house along with 45 other dogs. Both were severely traumatized from what they had experienced for those first 18 months. Luckily, they have flourished and blossomed as they've learned that people are safe and can be the source of good things. Dory is still pretty tentative around men; males were NOT good to her previously. She can learn to trust men with patience and kindness. Luther accepts everyone with a wagging tail. He is definitely Dory's "woobie" and provides her with a sense of confidence and feeling of safety. Dory follows his lead and feels safer when he is around. They are definitely a bonded pair. Both dogs are now 5 years old after rehabilitating with us for 3 1/2 years. Dory is an adorable beagle weighing about 25 lbs. Luther is a lab/border collie mix who is about 60 lbs. The ideal home for these wonderful dogs will have a secure fenced-in yard and, due to Dory's fear issues, no children under 16 years of age. They do need a calm home environment without a lot of visitors as it would be too much for Dory to handle as she progresses. Their new parents will need to be patient, loving and understanding as the two adjust to home life but they will reap an enormous amount of love this sweet pair. The adoption fee for both dogs is $300. They are spayed/neutered, microchipped, current on vaccinations and heartworm/flea preventative.
