Story
POPPY is a 6 month old puppy who loves to play and wrestle. She has not figured out yet how to get the ball but she trys. She loves her chew toys, is crate trained and doing real good on potty training and after a day of play and walking, she snuggles up to nap. SHE is a good girl. If you are interested in meeting/adopting Poppy, please fill out the adoption application on our website. www.foreverhomedogs.org Her adoption fee is $300All adoptions are $300 per dog for puppies under 1 year, $250 for adults 1 - 9 years old and $150 for senior dogs which include spay/neuter, micro-chipped and up-to-date on required shots. Senior dogs, at our discretion, are adopted out at $150 per dog because we know they will have less time with your family and may eventually have more needs as they get older. But we feel these dogs deserve to live out the rest of their lives as part of a loving family.

Rowdy is a little shy with new people. Shes great with all dogs she meets and would be best on a home with another dog to help her adjust. Rowdy is curious in new situations, but life up until recently, hasnt been kind to her..... so she will need time to get comfortable and then her true goofy nature will emerge! Like a butterfly, Rowdy is a much different pup than when she 1st came to us from the pound, with no hope of getting out :( UNTIL the rescue chick saw me and knew i was a diamond in the RUFF ;) Rowdy needs a patient home who will give her time to warm up, open up & trust. Older kids only would be best for her and a fully fenced yard is a must. Until she settles in she'll be an escape risk. An apartment would work for Rowdy as well. She is ready for her furever family!! Apply soon! Local adoption only $200, in TX

Thanks to a grant from the Petfinder Foundation, my adoption fee is 75% off. So I'm only $25 to adopt. I'm a sweet older gal. How I came to be a stray, no one knows, but here I am in my older years and homeless. I'd sure like to land with a family that knows the joy of an older dog and wants me to bring them joy. Is it you? If you're interested in adopting me, please fill out an application at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt. You can also reserve an appointment to meet me. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have visits scheduled, so appointments help ensure I’ll be available. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, and we welcome adopters from any state. We have access to a transport to Aurora, CO. Other outofstate adopters either travel to Missouri or arrange & pay for air transport. Virtual meetandgreets are available on the appointment request. ##2780898##

HOW TO ADOPT: This dog is available for adoption by appointment. To schedule a time to meet this dog, please email meetme@arl-iowa.org.---- Came from a situation where he had limited exposure to normal household things; will need patience, consistency, and plenty of positive reinforcement as he continues to learn to navigate life in a home - Will need time to acclimate to new people, patience with potty training, and a very secure environment to keep him safe, particularly if he's startled outdoors - Looking for a calm, predictable home with people who can provide patience, time and gentle, positive guidance to help him continue to grow in confidence - Has become more curious with each passing day in his foster home and will seek his family out and follow them around - Will hop up on the couch when his foster family is relaxing and likes to sleep in bed with them at night - Has gotten more interested in toys and likes to pull on ropes and try to pull the fuzz off of tennis balls - Likes peanut butter and cheese for treats and rewards - Is pretty well potty trained in his foster home, although he still may have accidents in times where he is flustered, startled or worried - Routine is his friend, so he's looking for someone who can give him that consistency/p>- Has done well with the other dogs in his foster home and likes watching them but mainly coexists with them vs. being part of what they're doing The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label. Primary Color: Tri Color Weight: 25.2 Age: 2yrs 2mths 2wks

Story
Hi, I'm Honeybee! I'm a 6 year old Lab/Beagle mix at just the right size. I'm a sweet girl and ready to be your new best friend. I get along great with other animals and am even potty-trained. I'm in a foster home right now. If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##1336587##
