Story
Meet Belle, a gentle soul with unshakable strength and a heart full of love. Belle’s story began behind a Piggly Wiggly in Camden, AL, where she lived alongside her friends Lizzie and Buster. Life there was harsh—food was scarce, danger was constant, and survival was never guaranteed. At some point, Belle suffered a broken hind leg that healed crooked, leaving a visible reminder of her struggles. But Belle never let her past slow her down. She walks, runs, and plays like any other dog, and the only thing she carries from her injury is her remarkable resilience. The leg doesn’t affect her daily life, though we keep an eye on it since the skin there is thin. What truly defines Belle is not her scar, but her sweet, gentle nature and her quiet determination to love and be loved. With her soft eyes and tender heart, Belle is ready for a forever home where she’ll be cherished for the survivor she is. If you’re looking for a companion who embodies grace, courage, and unconditional love, Belle is waiting to meet you.

Story
I bought my dog off of a website, he was just a puppy back then he was about 4 months old. Mason is extremely friendly and playful he likes to be close to his mom/Dad but he also likes his space too. Mason is 8 years and 6 months old now and I swear he still thinks he's a puppy lol. Mason is mat or cage trained as far as the bathroom. Mason would need a owner who can spend time with him or who is home a lot because he doesn't like to be alone. Mason also needs someone who can afford him he has anal gland issues so he goes to the vet every month to get them drained or whatever they do and this cost around $90 a visit. I'm rehoming my dog because I can't afford him any longer. He will come with everything u would need to care for him. Food, toys, poppy mats that are washable, food, a kennel and water and food dishes we also have pet stairs for him because my bed is super high off the floor. I just want him to end up with someone or a family that's going to love him and take care of him.

Story
Billy and Suzie are a bonded pair of sweet, loving beagles. For a year after their owner was admitted to a nursing home, they remained in that home with a neighbor stopping over to feed them. Unfortunately, their owner never returned, and now they are in need of a new person/people. They are lap dogs, and they love attention. They are good with dogs and cats. Can anyone open their home to these two seniors? Story
APPLICATION LINK: https://shaynesrescue.com/adoption-application-pet-central-satx/ We must have an application to move forward. LILIANA is a 6yo Beagle mix female. This makes her a "low-rider" -- short legs. She weighs 30#s. Liliana is a very sweet and sensitive dog. She likes to lay in the bed with me and snuggle up next to me or sometimes sleep at the foot-rest of my bed. She adopted me immediately and enjoys to be with me. She loves playing with all my dogs from small to big dogs. Liliana thinks she is a “lap” dog. I call her a “couch potato.” She is crate trained; leash trained (very easy); house trained; and loves to go riding in a car or going for a walk. She definitely a human-pleasing dog. She doesn’t have any prey driven instincts when she sees squirrels or cats on the walks. Liliana also has a very sweet attitude towards people in general. As much as we have not had her around children, she is very nice to all ages. This dog is CURRENTLY IN TEXAS and available for pre-adoption. Adoptions include neuter/spay, vaccinations (DHPP, Bordetella, Rabies), microchip, health certificate, transport with our professional dog transporter, and 6 mos of heart worm prevention. You will receive the dog's folder with all the printouts proving the medical treatments received. If you have any questions or would like an e-mail from us as to how all of this works, text me (Terry); identify the dog's name and give me your email address... 210-394-6060. You can also go to our Facebook page... https://www.facebook.com/Pet-Central-SATX-866684826744181/ and LIKE us to help us out. After we review your application, we will contact you, and you will have the opportunity to find out more from their foster family or the rescue. If you experience any issues filling out the application you can contact us directly at shaynerescue@gmail.com. This is ONLY if you have problems applying. If you have not applied, you will not receive a response so please only email if you have any issues applying. Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue pup/dog. We firmly believe there is NO breed other than "rescue" for all species. Thank you for being part of the village it takes to save these precious lives.

Story
KANE is an adorable almost year old medium mix of beagle-houndish origins if we had to guess. He's sweet and loves people and gets along with all the other dogs he's met so far. He's fully vetted and he's doing great learning the ropes of leash training and has a fun, curious energy. He likes to follow his foster around the house or get comfy with them in sight. Kane's already learning some commands, as well. He loves to play and has been a big hit at events we've brought him to. He loves playing fetch and will even bring it back most of the time, He is a big cuddlebug and loves to give kisses. He's just under 50 lbs and should be about full grown or close to it. We've just learned that he is NOT great with cats. FYI he came to us quite underweight and has put on a little weight proportionately since some of the earlier pictures shown here. (est dob 2/17/25) 👉 Adoption fee INCLUDES: all vetting to age (including deworming, flea & tick etc), spay/neuter and microchip (if the dog is under 6 months, alter and chip will occur after they're 6 months, covered in full at our clinic or reimbursed partially at a vet of your choosing). If the dog is older than 6 months and not yet altered, we will schedule ASAP (normally within 30 days) at our clinic . We also provide as an incentive a $60 rebate for completion of positive-based training classes. Adoption also includes lifetime support of the rescue. 💜 Please click PURPLE BUTTON above to apply or go to www.secondhanddogrescue.com/apply ! ✍ APPLICATION PROCESSING: We do most application processing virtually and dog meets will be individually by appointment with ONLY APPROVED APPLICANTS. We are not a shelter and are completely volunteer foster-based, so there is no central place to come see all of the dogs available. 📌IMPORTANT NOTES: ** Housetraining with rescues is sometimes a work in progress and even if a dog is 100% in a foster's home, it should be expected there will be an adjustment period as a dog adapts to a new environment. This is even more true if the dog has not by chance had their altering appointment at time of adoption. ** Also, we highly recommend some form of 2-week shutdown and decompression for dogs going to a new home for best results. --> Lastly, breed guesses in rescue are just that (GUESSES!!) 99.9% of the time. We do not do DNA testing and our breed guesses are based on appearance and sometimes other traits, but we know the dog breed guessing game is a fool's errand even for those with LOTS of experience. 🗺 ADOPTION AREA: several hour radius of Rochester, NY (Canada within 3 hours IS allowed, except that young puppies need to be old enough to have gotten their rabies vaccination to cross the border - usually around 16 weeks)
