Story
Prudence is a beagle mix and about 2 or 3 years old. We adopted her from Forsyth County Animal Shelter of June 2023. She’s a very sweet and smart girl with lots of energy and potential, loves to cuddle, up to date on her vaccines, spayed and potty trained. However, she is also very reactive and resource guards. We were unable to crate train her but our trainer believes she has a phobia of being locked in, but does fine outside of it and isn’t very destructive. She has a lot of energy and prey drive so she requires both physical and mental stimulation. She has anxiety (separation, car, etc) and needs work building her confidence. Our vet has put her on Trazodone for big events, but maybe you can work with her so she doesn’t need it! Her reactivity seems to be caused by overexcitement but also possibly low confidence. Active owner who has experience with high energy/working dogs is a must. No fee, we just want her to go to a good home.

Story
We speculate that she is now around two years old. She is very sweet, loving, and playful when alone at home. She resource guards, which has led to some close calls with other animals and humans. She is extremely reactive, this is the main reason we are looking to rehome. We live in an apartment complex and there are lots of dogs around. She will bark and pull towards any animal she sees, we have very little luck getting her attention when this happens. When we lived in our house last year, the reactivity was not nearly as bad. She is completely housebroken, we dont use a crate. She is fine while we are away at work and will let us know when she needs to go outside. I would like to see her go to someone in a less populated neighborhood who is experienced with dogs. She is familiar with cats and dogs but I am not sure how she would do living with either.

Story
Claire is a Beagle mix girl.  The vet estimated her year of birth as 2015, but this little girl still has some puppy energy.  She would be a great addition to any home. Because she's a little older, she would probably be better with older children. She's playful, but would be a great snuggle bunny, too. ~~ Adoption donation $300 . All vetting is up to date. Microchipped and spayed. Also on flea/tick and heartworm preventative. Story
Roscoe is a 9 yr old, 11 lb, tri-colored Beagle/Dachshund mix. He gets along beautifully with other small dogs and enjoys playing with plush toys. Roscoe has the gentle temperament of a Beagle along with some Dachshund traits — he is curious, lively, charming, brave, stubborn, demands to be in on everything, and believes snuggling and sleeping under the bedcovers is in his bill of rights. Roscoe is friendly and affectionate with people. Roscoe could be an only dog or have another small dog (under 20 lbs) in the home. Roscoe is smart, quick and looks for every opportunity to shoot out an open door, so his adoptive family needs to be prepared to manage a quick and determined little dog. The adoption range for this dog is limited to NC, SC, VA and East TN. If you are interested in adopting this dog, contact h2hadoptions@gmail.com. There is an application process and adoption fee. WE REQUIRE AN ALL-ADULT HOME WITH A SECURELY FENCED YARD. The secure fence must be 4ft or higher, with gaps no greater than 1 1/2 inches, and attached to the home - meaning you have an inside door that opens into the fenced yard. An invisible fence, enclosed patio, terrace or deck, temporary fencing, dog pens or dog lots or community shared fencing (dog park) are NOT considered secure fencing. If your fencing has "puppy pickets" (or is supplemented with garden fencing) it needs to be at least 36 inches high from the ground up AT THE LOWEST POINT. No exceptions. We are an all-volunteer organization, and in addition to saving dogs, we have other responsibilities, so we appreciate your patience and understanding during this process. Response time can take up to 5 business. Please inquire only if you are willing to come to Greensboro, NC to meet the dog after we schedule your home visit. We do not ship dogs or put them on transports. Veterinary Care: All Hart-2-Heart Rescue foster dogs are spayed/neutered, current on heartworm prevention, parvo/distemper, bordetella, and rabies vaccines, and are professionally groomed. As needed, our foster dogs have teeth cleanings, extractions, bloodwork and other diagnostic testing. Adoption Fee: $450July 24, 2024, 4:40 am
