Meet the “C” Litter! ☘️🐾 Carter, Cardi, Carsyn, Carleigh, and Carmen are five adorable members of our newest puppy crew. These little cuties are classic Heinz 57 mixed breeds, which means they’re a delightful mystery mix of who-knows-what… but 100% adorable. Their mama weighs about 30–35 pounds, and we expect the puppies to grow into a similar medium-sized range. It’s the perfect size for adventure, snuggles, and everyday life. Right now they’re busy doing important puppy work: exploring, playing, learning about the world, and perfecting their heart-melting expressions. Like all puppies, they will need families ready for training, patience, socialization, and lots of love as they grow. We are now accepting applications for this adorable crew! 🐾
We'll also keep you updated on Carter's adoption status with email updates.

Looking for your next furry BFF? We don’t have perfect dogs — but we do have dogs who are perfect for the right someone. Our goal is to match each dog with the home that fits them best and each home with the dog that will sing to your heart. Ready to adopt? Complete an application at Application – Carolina Poodle Rescue   Date into Rescue: 2/17/2026 Reason for being in rescue: Stary found in Jonesville/Union, SC Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Hayley is spayed, and up to date on all vaccines. She has a negative heartworm test.  Weight: 25 lbs Height: 14in at the shoulder Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $200 Fence needed? Yes, we are unsure of how came became a stray, a fence is best for her adventurous side.  What kind of home would be best for me? Hayley is a very adaptable dog who could thrive in a variety of homes - whether laid-back and quiet, busy and fast-paced, or somewhere in between with a mix of activity and relaxation. We think Hayley would do well children that know how to interact with dogs respectfully. Hayley will likely benefit from basic training or refresher courses as she settles into her new home and learns her family’s routines and expectations. She has also been cat tested and did wonderfully, showing she could comfortably live in a home with feline friends.  She has done fantastic with dogs of all sizes and absolutely loves playing and running around the yard with her canine friends. What is my personality like? Hayley is a sweet, smart Beagle who came to us as a local stray and has quickly proven herself to be a wonderful companion. Hayley enjoys a good meal, and for a Beagle, she isn’t overly driven by her nose, making her easier to manage than many of her breed.  She has a playful personality paired with just the right amount of Beagle stubbornness. Hayley is intelligent, listens well, and has already shown great habits - even putting herself into her crate when it’s bedtime. While we don’t know much about her past life due to her being found as a stray, we believe Haley was once a loved family pet who may have simply gotten loose and never made her way home. With her friendly nature, playful spirit, and easygoing temperament, Hayley is ready to become a beloved member of almost any family willing to give her love and guidance. How do I act when I first meet new people? Hayley isn't the jump into a new person lap kind of dog, but she is friendly and will greet everyone with a soft tail wag and gentle lowering or her head for pets. She is gentle and kind.  Other tips and tidbits: We do not know Hayleys actual birthday as she is a stray. We have no history on her pre-rescue. Based on her overall health and condition she has been estimated at 2 years old. We celebrate her birthday 02/26/2024. House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Potential Adopters Dogs can’t drive — and since we’re busy taking care of them, we can’t either! Please check your potential BFF’s location and make sure you’re comfortable traveling to meet them. Want updates and ways to help? You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. INTERESTED IN MEETING OR ADOPTING MARTHA from Best Friend Pet Adoption rescue? If so, please fill out our dog adoption application by copying and pasting this link in a new browser window: https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=WHMSYCNC   Meet   Martha   – a happy, curious, and full of gentle sweetness little senior with so much love to give.  Martha is the kind of dog who reminds you that the best things in life are simple: a cozy couch, a warm sunbeam, and a home where she’s finally part of the family. After spending most of her life outdoors in a kennel, Martha is discovering just how wonderful indoor life can be—and she’s absolutely charmed by it all. This lovely girl has a low energy level, making her a wonderful companion for someone who enjoys a relaxed pace. She loves to sniff around the yard, explore new things, and then curl up for a peaceful nap—preferably in a sunny spot on the couch. Every now and then she’ll surprise you with a burst of adorable zoomies or a little wrestling match with one of her dog friends. Martha is very friendly with people and gets along beautifully with other dogs. In fact, she currently lives with a rotating group of foster pups and does great with all of them. While she could be an only dog, she would probably love having a canine buddy or two to share her days with. She’s also a wonderful house guest. Martha is crate trained and does very well when crated at night or while her foster is at work. She’s mostly housebroken, with only the occasional accident, especially while learning a new routine. With patience and consistency in a new home, she’ll master it. Because she spent much of her life outside, Martha still finds everyday household items fascinating. When she first arrives, you might catch her curiously carrying off a shoe, pillow, remote, or even a small rug—not out of mischief, but pure excitement at all these new treasures! It’s part of her adorable charm as she learns what home life is all about. She’s a quiet dog, rarely barking unless the rest of the pack gets excited. She could do well in many homes, including an apartment, as long as her new family understands she may need a little time to settle into a new routine. She rides in the car but can sometimes get carsick, so she’s probably more of a homebody than a road-trip companion. What Martha wants most is something she’s never truly had before: a soft place to land and someone to love her through her golden years. She doesn’t need much—just kindness, patience, and a comfy couch to call her own. If you’re looking for a gentle, soulful companion who will appreciate every bit of love you give, Martha may be the perfect addition to your home. And giving this sweet senior the life she’s always deserved will be one of the most rewarding decisions you’ll ever make.  Martha is going through treatment for heartworm disease.   Best Friend Pet Adoption will provide medical care and cost while she is going through this treatment.  This is not contagious and she is fine to be around other pets.   Some of the information contained in this biography includes approximations based on our expertise and is not guaranteed.  Applicants ideally should live no further than one hour from Cary NC as our dogs must be seen by a BFPA veterinarian for all medical care prior to adoptions being finalized.  Our foster guardians deliver dogs to their new homes for adoption trials and we do home visits to finalize all adoptions.  We therefore prefer applicants that live within an hours drive of Cary NC.   INTERESTED IN ADOPTING MARTHA?
