Hello! My name is Boone and I have been at the shelter since 2024. I am considered a senior, but don't let that fool you- I can still get going when I want to! I love to play chase or fetch in the run, and my favorite thing of all is a walk. I do very well on the leash and have excellent manners. I know when it's time to settle down, though, and on those days you can find me stretched out (and snoring) on my nice bed. I can run and play when I want to get silly, but I am still older, and due to my age, I would like a home without younger kids. Maybe we could be retirement buddies? My favorite toys are squeaky balls and stuffed squeaky toys- although the stuffed squeaky toys never seem to last long around me. My favorite enrichment is the stuffed cardboard boxes and paper towel rolls. I have been to lots of events and places in my time here and am always a superstar. I love meeting people and do well in the car too. I'm ready to hop in one and ride away from here! I am very affectionate, too, I like belly rubs and like to lean against you. I am a "people person" and have never met a stranger! I'll get right in your lap and enjoy cuddles. When it comes to other dogs, though, I like things my way and I'm old enough that I've earned the right not to share! I don't like it when other dogs get in my personal space- after all, who likes a stranger in their face? I would like to have a place - and a person- that's all my own.

She has short little legs and waddles when she walks. She is calm and very friendly. She loves wet canned food and will snatch the can away if you aren't watching. She is also very laid-back, and nothing really bothers her. Edith is on 30 days of doxycycline for testing Lyme +. Edith is spayed, up to date on the Rabies vaccine, Bordetella, & received the 1st DHLPP vaccine. She was 4DX Tested (Lyme +, Anaplasma +). She came to us with two other Beagle mixes: Edith and Fred. She is very close to both of them, especially Edith. She is your typical beagle; laid-back, sweet, and adorable. Zion is a sweet beagle mix, born 5/2/24 & weighs 46 lbs. He is good with kids and other dogs.Zion is participating in the cell dog program which is where the dog stays with an inmate handler in the prison to work on basic commands, house and crate training. Each dog that comes out may have varying levels of training due to their personality and history prior to arriving at the rescue. The adoption fee covers the neuter, microchip with lifetime registration, vaccinations (which include DHLPPC, Lyme, Bordetella & Rabies) dewormings and heartworm/lyme testing. Sadly, nobody called looking for me. So, here I am in search of a new home. I am a very loving girl, who would make any one a wonderful companion. I play fetch, sit on command, and have pretty good leash manners. I would love to have an active home with someone who will take me for adventures like long walks and car rides.
