My name is Boone and I have been at the shelter since 2024. I am considered a senior, but don't let that fool you- I can still get going when I want to! I love to play chase or fetch in the run, and my favorite thing of all is a walk. I do very well on the leash and have excellent manners. My favorite toys are squeaky balls and stuffed squeaky toys- although the stuffed squeaky toys never seem to last long around me. I have been to lots of events and places in my time here and am always a superstar. I love meeting people and do well in the car too. I'm ready to hop in one and ride away from here! I am very affectionate, too, I like belly rubs and like to lean against you. I am a "people person" and have never met a stranger! I'll get right in your lap and enjoy cuddles. When it comes to other dogs, though, I like things my way and I'm old enough that I've earned the right not to share! I would like to have a place - and a person- that's all my own.

Hi, my name is Logan and I have been here since January of 2026. I am very social and friendly, with dogs and people, and have had lots of friends here. Though I am a senior, I still like to go for walks and run and play outside. When I get tired, I like to stretch out on my bed and watch my friends keep playing without me. I also love treats! I don't have a particular favorite, but when my bigger friends get treats, I will walk under them to get to all the crumbs. I hope you come visit me soon!

Story
LuLu is so sweet. She is almost 3 years old. We got her from some people at a flea market when she was a pup. She loves treats, sweet potato and green apples and watermelon are her favorites. And any kind of meat you cook, of course. LuLu has never been aggressive and lives with 3 cats. She is a super sweet dog. LuLu needs a new home because we cant afford to keep her. She has been having problems with her ears. They are so itchy. The vet said ear infections, but LuLu will not let anyone near her ears. She hasn't gotten aggressive, but she will flail and will not hold still. I cant hold her down by myself to put medicine in. And frankly, she just needs someone who is capable. LuLu is my first dog, and will be my last. I realize now I dont have what it takes to be a dog mom. I love her, but she seriously deserves so much better. She's been on flea and heart guard meds monthly since we got her. Shots were up to date in October.

Allow us to introduce you to COOKIE, a 3 year old mixed breed who came to our pound after being found on a local highway. COOKIE is the sweetest girl. Between her wonderful personality and her short legs, we think there may be some Beagle in the mix. COOKIE is quite the little lover. She is affectionate and the more love you give her, the more affectionate she becomes. Her biggest motivators are love and snacks (another reason we think there is a Beagle in there). When she has to go out, she whines. She's met a few kids and has been good with them. She doesn't seem to mind the other dogs at the pound. We don't know about cats. COOKIE has best friend potential because she's happy to do whatever you do. Want to go for a long walk? COOKIE is your girl. Want to nap all afternoon on the couch? COOKIE is your girl. Harrison County Dog Pound, 82900 Toot Rd. Cadiz, OH 43907 Hours: Monday-Friday 10am-4pm; Saturdays 9am-2pm; closed Sundays and holidays.
