RCHS does not conduct DNA tests on dogs who enter our facility therefore we are unable to guarantee breed or breed mix. Information provided by shelter staff, volunteers, and veterinarians is used to give a best estimate as to a dog’s breed make up. We do our best to inform adopters about the potential breeds for each dog.We are a dog only facility so we do not know how most of our dogs will be with cats. Even if a dog is surrendered to us and said to be good with cats there is no way to be sure the dog will be good with your cats. We do have a 7 day foster-to-adopt program so that you can see how the dog interacts with your cats before adoption.

Our 3-year-old rescue Beagle had a rough start—he was found at 6 months old with a rope around his neck—but he has grown into a joyful, playful, and affectionate companion. Full of energy, he loves people (especially children), playing with other dogs, running laps, and enjoying his toys. He’s the life of the party and thrives on interaction and activity. This has been a very difficult decision, but due to increased work travel, we want him in a home where he can get the attention, exercise, and companionship he deserves. He would thrive in a fun, active home with people who can include him in daily life and provide plenty of playtime. Our priority is finding a stable, loving home where he can continue to grow, explore, and be a cherished family member.
