He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, on HW, flea and tick preventative, crate trained and is doing wonderful with his house training! Rudy is as smart as can be, is gentle and loving, has a wonderful personality and is an absolute joy to be around! He loves everyone he meets and enjoys the companionship of other Dogs! Rudy likes to snuggle next to you on the couch and he is an expert nap taker! He loves to play with his toys and also enjoys frolicking and playing with his Dog pals! Dasher is a low rider and around 41 lbs--he is short but mighty.  We were told he is not a fan of kids by the family that found him.  SO we suggest a home without children.  It is unknown how he is with cats.  He has a chronic issue with his leg and will likely, at some point, need to be on meds for arthritis. Based on what our vet told us he was likely injured and the injury healed on it's own with out medical intervention. (he ran for nearly a month before he landed at the finders home so it is unknown what may have happened in that time frame)--we suspect he may have been struck by a car or possibly kicked by a horse.   He limps on occasion and it should be monitored as he ages.  ***it took the finder several days to get him to warm up to them before they called us. He does like to go for walks, and can be playful. He is neutered, vaccinated, wormed, tested negative for heartworm, and is microchipped. Dasher likes some dogs but can be selective, so a meet and greet is necessary and must be scheduled in advance.  He would likely do well in a low key quiet home----although he is still active.  If you have interest please call the shelter to schedule an appt or stop in during regular business hours to walk through the kennel.  Morrow County Dog Shelter, Mt. Ivy is a 2 year 5 month old Beagle/Australian Shepherd mix who came to the shelter as an owner surrender. Ivy is a sweetheart with lots of love, kisses and cuddles to give! She enjoys walks but gets distracted by the zoomies and running in circles, she's also quick to pull when on the scent (may need more leash training). She is treat motivated and knows the command sit. Spins in circles when happy or excited. Crate and pad trained. Loves squeaky toys and nyla bones. Came from a home with a fenced in yard and was allowed on the furniture. Good with baths. Fearful of cats. Currently treating with trazadone for separation anxiety.Her adoption fee is $150, this includes her spay, heartworm test, vaccines current, deworming, heartworm/flea prevention and micro chipped. Her dog license is also required to be purchased for Sandusky County residents at time of adoption, which is an additional $21.00 (includes $1.00 service charge).Please visit the shelter to meet her, we show dogs Monday through Friday 1pm-4:30pm and Saturday 1pm-3:30pm. Once you have visited the shelter, you are then eligible to submit an adoption application for review. Please note, we do not offer same day adoptions and there is a $10 non-refundable application fee.Come and meet your new best friend today!
