Story
📜🛑 ROYAL DECREE OF LORD NOT TODAY, MASTER OF ABSOLUTE REFUSAL 🛑📜 Let it be known across all lands, kingdoms, and mildly uncomfortable situations… Lord Not Today has arrived as a stray on 4/6/26 alongside Duchess Don’t Even and Sir Nope, and he would like to formally announce: whatever you’re asking… the answer is no. Estimated to be around 1 year old, Lord Not Today is a young nobleman who specializes in the ancient art of politely declining everything. Eye contact? Not today. Immediate friendship? Not today. Trusting strangers in a loud, confusing place? Absolutely not today. This distinguished lord is not well socialized, and smiles are rare diplomatic events. He is what experts call a “slow thaw specialist”—meaning he will need a patient, kind, and understanding human who respects his need to process the world at his own pace. ⚠️ By decree, Lord Not Today is to be considered a flight risk while adjusting to his surroundings. Until he feels safe in his new kingdom, all exits should be secured and all sudden life decisions postponed (by him). BUT—should you earn his trust (a process that may involve quiet companionship, snacks, and minding your business), you will be granted a rare and honorable title: “His Person.” And trust me… he will mean it. Those wishing to submit themselves for possible approval may present their case at: 📍 Richland County Dog Shelter – Mansfield, OH 📞 419-774-5892 Formal applications may be requested via royal correspondence: 📧 dogs@richlandcountyoh.gov Proceed carefully. He’s already decided “not today”… but maybe one day. 🛑👑

**UPDATE** I HAVE BOTH OF THEM UP TO DATE ON SHOTS AND BOTH HAVE COME BACK WITH A NEGATIVE HEARTWORM TEST!! This is Bob (tan male) and Boba (black female) they are 5yr beagle labs mix together since birth neither of them are fixed I would be willing to split the cost of the procedure if necessary. I have not had the opportunity to have them around other animals so I dont know how they would be but they are spectacular around kids I am looking to rehome them because they are just not living the doggy dream with us my family dynamic has changed over the last year and it is not giving the love and time these dogs deserve. I am also moving in the near future and cannot take these dogs with me! located in central huron county

Story
Little Sprout is back with us after a trial adoption. He escaped his cage, he’s a destructive chewer, and he barks at people and dogs. Sprout is still a puppy and is going to need an adopter who can train him and turn him into a successful adult dog. We’re guessing Sprout is about six months old. He weighs 15 pounds and still has some growing to do. Sprout is so sweet and friendly and has his entire life ahead of him. If you’d like to add him to your family, let us know or stop by! He would love to meet your kids and dogs.

Story
Clayton is a 1 year 1 month old Beagle weighing 22 pounds. He came to the shelter as a stray so his history is unknown. Clayton is a happy boy who let's his nose lead the way! He still has a lot of puppy in him at just 1 year old. He has lots of energy to go with his Beagle nose! He also has a big voice with lots to say (typical beagle behavior). His nose keeps him on the move and his leash manners are forgotten-will pull when on the scent. Loves his squeaky and stuffed toys. Treat motivated. Affectionate and loves people. Good with other dogs. Good with baths. His adoption fee is $200, this includes his neuter, heartworm test, vaccines current, deworming, heartworm/flea prevention and micro chipped. His dog license is also required to be purchased for Sandusky County residents at time of adoption, which is an additional $21.00. Please visit the shelter to meet him, we show dogs Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 1pm-4:30pm, and the 2nd and 4th Saturday 1pm-3:30pm. Once you have visited the shelter, you are then eligible to submit an adoption application for review. Please note, we do not offer same-day adoptions and there is a $10 non-refundable application fee.Come and meet your new best friend today! The Humane Society of Sandusky County is open Monday -Friday 1pm - 5pm and Saturdays from 1pm - 4pm. Also, be sure to check us out on FaceBook!
