Story
Leroy is a laidback older dude seeking an adopter who is home more often than not. He seems unbothered by the other pound pups, he passed his cat test, and we’re open to doing meet and greets with kids and dogs!Leroy seems very easygoing. We’re guessing he’s around 7 years old but it’s hard to say for sure, as he was brought in as a stray. He loves mud puddles and spending time in the great outdoors. If you’d like to add Leroy to your family, let us know! Any kids or dogs at home will need to come meet him.

Would do best in a fenced yard Extremely comfortable around young children. Travels well in a car and is not anxious or nervous during storms or bad weather. Housetrained when familiar with her surroundings. No food aggression, separation anxiety or reactive behavior ( ie fearful or chase small animals) Would do best to have a safe space for herself to rest. It doesn't have to be a crate, a big comfy bed will work just fine. Does not jump on people or get on furniture. Not the most eager to go on a walk but loves to be with you or outside enjoying the sunshine and fresh air.

Story
Meet Bruce! Bruce is a classic beagle mix with a big voice and an even bigger heart. He's a chatty little guy who isn't shy about letting you know when he wants company- and honestly, he just wants to be close to his people as much as possible. After being abandoned in his previous home, Bruce has developed some separation anxiety, so he's hoping to find a dedicated companion who can give him the love and reassurance he deserves. Bruce is incredibly affectionate and full of personality. On walks, he may pause just to give you a hug as if to say, "thank you for being here". He's not a fan of cats due to his strong prey drive and we're still learning how he feels about other dogs- though he does appear to be a bit jealous when he sees them heading out for adventures without him! This determined little guy has even been spotted climbing over shorter fences in search for snuggles, proving just how committed he is to finding his person. Despite being treated for a skin infection from the condition he was found in, Bruce remains cheerful and loving. He keeps his kennel very tidy and treats his blankets with care like the good boy he is. Bruce can be a bit particular about his food but have some cheese and you'll have his attention. If you are looking for a loyal and affectionate companion who will keep you smiling Bruce is ready to meet you! Bruce also says no cats in his home please. If you are interested in adopting or fostering Bruce, please feel free to apply online!

Story
Looking for a quiet, loyal friend to share your days with? Meet Stanley, an 8-year-old gentleman who’s ready to be someone’s faithful sidekick for the best years ahead. Stanley is the perfect companion for a calm, easygoing lifestyle. He adores routine, enjoys the simple things in life, and has a special soft spot for older adults — especially retired folks who appreciate good company and a steady pace. He’s happiest spending time right by your side: soaking up the sunshine on the porch, snoozing through a cozy afternoon, or curling up with you and a crocheted blanket during a quiet evening at home. Stanley takes his routines seriously and will politely remind you when it’s past bedtime — because even a distinguished gentleman knows the value of a good night’s rest. Stanley is great with other dogs and children, though he prefers a cat-free household. He’s gentle, affectionate, and loves to be included in whatever you’re doing — whether it’s gardening, watching TV, or enjoying your morning coffee. Recently diagnosed with a mild heart murmur, Stanley is still in good spirits and has many happy, loving years ahead. His needs are simple: a calm home, a soft blanket, and someone who enjoys life’s slower moments as much as he does. If you’re looking for a steady, loving companion to share your golden years, Stanley would love to meet you. He’ll remind you when it’s bedtime, keep you company through every season, and fill your home with warmth and quiet joy.March 8, 2026, 11:18 pm

Story
Tragedy has struck one of our adopter families, leaving this deeply bonded mother-daughter pair urgently in need of a new home.In January 2022, sweet Daisy came to us and delivered a litter of puppies in our care. She and one of her babies, Izzy, were adopted togetherand theyve been inseparable ever since. Izzy has always been a mamas girl. This week, their world was turned upside down. The woman who gave them a loving home was tragically killed in a car accident. Her family cant keep the dogs and has asked us to take them back. Now Daisy and Izzy need someone to give them a second chancetogether, if at all possible. Izzy is the perfect girl: Great with kids Good with cats and dogs Loving and easygoing Daisy (the mama) is more sensitive:Shes fearful of strangers and takes time to warm up.She is not aggressive, but has occasionally nipped when scared. She needs a calm, patient home that will let her adjust at her own pace.We know its a hard time for dogs needing homes. But we also know theres someone out there who can offer these girls the stability and love theyve lost. Please consider opening your heart and your home to Izzy and Daisywhether through adoption or foster care. You can apply at ricopetrecovery.org.

Story
Everyone say hi to Charlie! Charlie is a sweet 5 year old who had a rough start to life. Because of this, she is weary of strangers but once she knows its safe she turns into a SWEETHEART. Charlie is cuddly, loving, potty trained, decent on a leash, friendly with dogs, ok with cats, good in the car and a pretty chill girl. Shes on the smaller side, around 40 lbs. Also due to her rough start in life, Charlie is heartworm positive (will receive treatment) and is being treated for Lyme disease. The rescue pays for her treatments. The rescue can also arrange for transport to our partner veterinarian for treatments if needed. Heartworms and Lyme disease in dogs are not contagious from dog to dog or to humans. Anyone would be lucky to add this cutie pie to their pack Apply to meet this gem at www.ricopetrecovery org. The adoption fee for Charlie is $250.
