Story
This sweet boy Ricky was found as a stray in Costa Rica and picked up by a local rescue there. It was obvious he was abandoned by his family as he was very friendly but confused. His tail was infected and had to be amputated due to a machete strike the vet believed. Ricky's tail is all healed and the vet saved 3 inches. Ricky is a beagle/English setter dog mix, male, 4 years old, calm, 35 lbs, good with dogs, friendly but shy, very treat motivated which makes training easy, walks nice on a leash, crate trained, good travelling in vehicle, hasn't barked yet, and low energy. He is neutered, utd vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped, Snap 4dx tested, and he comes with a vet Health Certificate. Story
Beckham the Beagle mix didn’t choose his journey — but he absolutely chose how he would live it: with courage, joy, and an endlessly wagging spirit. 💛 His name wasn’t picked by accident; Beckham earned it. After a car accident, his left leg couldn’t be saved, but Beckham never got the memo that he was supposed to slow down. Instead, he carried on doing what he does best — running, playing, smiling, and greeting everyone he meets with pure, contagious happiness. Three years old and weighing about 15 kg, Beckham is the kind of dog who makes your days brighter simply by being part of them. He doesn’t see himself as “different” at all — he sees himself as ready. Ready for adventures, ready for cuddles, ready to love with his whole heart, and most of all, ready for a place to finally call home. Beckham has a calm, affectionate, and happy natured personality that makes him a joy to be around. He truly loves human company and thrives on attention, soaking it up with a grateful heart and a gentle presence. He is social and friendly, getting along well with both people and other dogs, and he is great with children, making him a wonderful fit for a home with kids aged eight and up. He is neutered, healthy, and up to date on his vaccines. Despite having three legs, Beckham doesn’t need special treatment. What he needs is simple — someone with a big heart who will really see him and choose him. Someone who will look at him and think, “You’re perfect. You’re mine.” ❤️ Beckham may not have had much luck so far, but the family who opens their home to him will be incredibly lucky. If you’d like to learn more about Beckham and our foster to adopt program, please reach out to c4ptoronto@gmail.com. Adopters must be located in Ontario, within approximately a three hour radius of Toronto.

Story
Ramona / Female / 4 Years /23 lbs / Beagle Mix / Good with Dogs / Untested Kids / Untested Cats / From Mexico / Fostered in Toronto **Follow Ramona's journey on Instagram: @Apple.the.potato Ramona's rescue was completely unplanned. After a busy three-day spay campaign that had already resulted in eleven dogs being brought to safety, her rescuer was determined not to take on another. Then Ramona appeared. She was found in heat and being chased by a pack of male dogs. Despite having no intention of rescuing another dog that weekend, her rescuer knew she couldn't leave her behind. Since that day, Ramona has seemingly been trying to repay the favour with endless cuddles, kisses, and affection. Today, Ramona is a confident, affectionate, and wonderfully goofy girl who absolutely loves people. She thrives on attention, believes every lap belongs to her, and will happily roll onto her back for a belly rub at every opportunity. One of her sweetest habits is carrying her humans' shoes to her favourite sleeping spot—not to chew them, but simply because she likes having their scent nearby. Ramona is social, friendly, and eager to make new friends. She loves being included in family life, whether that's joining you on an adventure, going for a walk, or curling up beside you for a cuddle. She enjoys toys, chews, frozen Kongs, car rides, and playtime with her canine friends. She hasn't been formally tested with kids but we believe she would love human siblings! She gets along well with other dogs and would likely do well with a respectful dog sibling following proper introductions. She has not been tested with cats. On leash, she can be reactive toward unfamiliar dogs, so her future family should be prepared to continue working on this with positive reinforcement and management. In the home, Ramona is an absolute dream. She is house trained, trustworthy when left alone, non-destructive, and has wonderful house manners. She settles easily into routines and has been described by her foster family as one of the easiest dogs they have ever fostered. Ramona is looking for a family who will include her in their lives, shower her with affection, and appreciate the loyal, loving companion she is. In return, she'll provide endless cuddles, plenty of laughs, and a lifetime of devotion. Prior to coming into care, Ramona tested positive for Ehrlichia which is a tick-borne infection and is not contagious. A CBC was performed to see if there is an active infection. Ramona 's CBC came back indicating that there was an active infection which is improving, but still needs another recheck in 4-6 weeks (retest due middle/end of July). The Ehrlichia also has made some minor elevation changes in her kidney levels so a urine work up is also pending. It is recommended that Ehrlichia positive dogs get an annual blood test to monitor and that pre-op blood work including a CBC test and platelet count be performed before any surgeries or dental extractions. Musculoskeletal: - Ramona has a valgus deformity of her front legs. This is when the paw turns outward, away from the midline, at the wrist, typically affecting the front legs, as seen on Ramona. Valgus deformities are a type of angular limb deformity, which are caused by abnormal bone growth due to rapid growth, injury, or damage to a dog's growth plate. Ramona shows no signs of discomfort and doesn't need any medication or surgery to correct it, it is just a characteristic! If at any point she starts to become lame or show signs of discomfort then a further radiograph work up is recommended. If you’re interested in adopting Ramona, please apply at https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info#adoption-form Ramona’s adoption fee is $850.
