Story
Beckham the Beagle mix didn’t choose his journey — but he absolutely chose how he would live it: with courage, joy, and an endlessly wagging spirit. 💛 His name wasn’t picked by accident; Beckham earned it. After a car accident, his left leg couldn’t be saved, but Beckham never got the memo that he was supposed to slow down. Instead, he carried on doing what he does best — running, playing, smiling, and greeting everyone he meets with pure, contagious happiness. Three years old and weighing about 15 kg, Beckham is the kind of dog who makes your days brighter simply by being part of them. He doesn’t see himself as “different” at all — he sees himself as ready. Ready for adventures, ready for cuddles, ready to love with his whole heart, and most of all, ready for a place to finally call home. Beckham has a calm, affectionate, and happy natured personality that makes him a joy to be around. He truly loves human company and thrives on attention, soaking it up with a grateful heart and a gentle presence. He is social and friendly, getting along well with both people and other dogs, and he is great with children, making him a wonderful fit for a home with kids aged eight and up. He is neutered, healthy, and up to date on his vaccines. Despite having three legs, Beckham doesn’t need special treatment. What he needs is simple — someone with a big heart who will really see him and choose him. Someone who will look at him and think, “You’re perfect. You’re mine.” ❤️ Beckham may not have had much luck so far, but the family who opens their home to him will be incredibly lucky. Story
Tia | Female | Approx. 4 years old | 22lbs | Dog and Cat Friendly | Toronto Tia is a very special girl looking for that special home that will invest the time and patience she needs to be herself. You can see the sweetness and willingness to trust in her big brown eyes, but she is quite shy at first and needs an adopter who will go at her pace. Even when she's unsure of things, Tia is the most gentle dog. Already Tia is making great strides in her foster home: in a short amount of time she's gone from timid to much more comfortable. She'll stay on her foster's lap for ear rubs, does a little dance when waiting for her meals, and rolls playfully around on her back accepting belly rubs. Her foster has gained her trust and been rewarded by joyful greetings in the morning with Tia launching herself onto the bed wagging her tail like crazy! She sleeps through the night and settles down for a nap when left home alone with the foster's dogs and cat. Tia is shy but curious when it comes to walking and meeting new people. She's calm and indifferent with cats and other dogs, but enjoys having their company, and would likely be fine living with either as long as they didn't come on too strongly. She'd do best with an adopter who is around a fair bit of the time and has a fenced yard. Few things are more rewarding than earning the trust of a shy dog. It's a really special experience to became their safe person and give them the foundation to be brave, comfy, and confident. In Tia's case, she doesn't require too much to build this trust. If you can go at her pace in the beginning, she quickly let's her inner affectionate goofball shine through. This will only become more and more apparent once she's in her forever home. If you can devote yourself to Tia, she will devote herself back a hundred fold. The shy guys don't always draw the apps, but often make the most memorable and special relationships and experiences.
