Story
Wrigley is learning what it's like to be in a home. He keeps to himself and likes to hang out in a separate room but does come out occassionally to say hello. He has learned meal times happen twice a day and now gives a little bark to let his foster mom know - it's time to eat! Overall, Wrigley is the definition of shy and will take some time to acclimate to a forever home. He will need a fenced in yard as he currently won't walk on a leash.  **This dog is heartworm positive and will be treated by the rescue and will be available for foster to adopt for a local family in or near Charleston, SC that is comfortable with the restriction requirements for the duration of treatment. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please fill out an application.  We do allow out of state adoptions and any transport costs are at the expense of the adopter.  If you have further questions about this dog, please email us at ccradopt@gmail.com and someone will be in touch as soon as possible. Please note we are unable to hold dogs for adopters as this ties up valuable foster homes. Please understand that we are an all volunteer group and we have jobs outside of this organization.  We do our best to provide quick responses but occasionally they are a little slower.  If you do not receive a response in 48 hours, please resend to make sure it's received. ##2760684##

Story
Siri found herself stuck in a rural shelter in rough shape. She has proven to be a resilient, kind, little ray of sunshine. She has come a long way as her skin issues have resolved and understandably is feeling much better these days. What a beauty! She is playful, affectionate, and will sleep through the night curled up on the pillow next to you. She loves other dogs, playing with toys, and receiving treats! In typical beagle fashion, she can be sound asleep in another room and hear you walk into the kitchen and assume you’re getting something for her to eat.  Siri would appreciate a home with another sweet dog(s) and a fenced in yard to run around in with her new friends. She is always excited to see you and will make a great addition to a loving home. Story
Sullivan is one happy guy! He was beyond excited to break out of the shelter and immediately wanted to be best friends with every human or dog he came across. This little ball of energy wants nothing less than all of everyone’s complete attention. He would do best in a home with someone that is around more often than not and with another playful pup to match his energy. As with most beagles, he is a smart boy and has learned some commands like sit, stay, and come. But of course, treats need to be involved. He has had some seizures and is currently on medication that is helping. **This dog is heartworm positive and will be treated by the rescue and will be available for foster to adopt for a local family in or near Charleston, SC that is comfortable with the restriction requirements for the duration of treatment. Story
Wanda Sue is looking for a calm, laid-back home where she can enjoy the simple things in life. She’s happiest taking leisurely walks for her potty breaks and then heading right back inside for her favorite activities: lounging on the couch and soaking up belly rubs. She settles into her crate with ease when left alone and even enjoys relaxing on top of it, where she finds comfort and security. She’s a wonderful car companion and is always ready to hop in for an adventure. At bedtime, she’d happily snuggle up beside you, but she’s just as content snoozing in a dog bed at the foot of yours. Wanda Sue would do well with a confident canine companion who won’t be bothered by her occasional “old lady” opinions or as your solo sidekick. She enjoys plush toys, a good bone, and plenty of love from her people. If you’re looking for a loyal, low-key best friend, Wanda Sue may be your perfect match! **This dog is heartworm positive and will be treated by the rescue and will be available for foster to adopt for a local family in or near Charleston, SC that is comfortable with the restriction requirements for the duration of treatment. Story
Meet Josie! Josie came to us after spending her entire young life in a shelter, and now that she finally knows what it feels like to be in a home, she’s blooming more every day. She is believed to be a beagle mix and is fully grown at about 35 pounds — a perfect, compact companion for someone looking for a gentle, loyal dog. Josie has picked up home life beautifully. She’s fully crate trained, potty trained, and leash trained, and she knows commands like sit, wait, stay, and more. She truly craves love from humans and seeks it out, wanting to stay close and soak up affection once she feels connected. Because she didn’t get to socialize much during her early developmental stage, Josie can be shy with new people and new situations at first. But with patience, calm voices, and a soft approach, she warms up quickly and becomes incredibly affectionate. She’s also dog friendly, enjoying play time or giving her canine friends gentle face kisses, and loves peaceful days spent lounging, walking, or being near her person. Her play style is quirky, so a dog that matches her is best! Josie's ideal home is a quiet, gentle home where she can continue building confidence while feeling safe and loved. She thrives with a human who is confident yet gentle. If you’re looking for a sweet, well-mannered girl who will reward your kindness with deep devotion, Josie is ready to meet you. Josie is fully vetted — spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm negative, and on prevention. Meet and greets and adoption trials are available! Apply at: BridgeBetweenAnimalRescue.org/adopt

Story
Meet Parka 🤍 Parka is a 45-pound, middle-aged beagle mix who has been waiting over two years for her forever home, continuously overlooked because she is a timid girl. We know her person is out there. When Parka first entered the shelter, she was labeled “reactive” and came very close to losing her life due to her fear of people and other dogs. What no one knew at the time was that she was pregnant and nearing labor which explained her fearfulness. Shortly after arriving in foster care, she gave birth. Despite everything, she was a devoted, loving mom. Her one surviving puppy has long since been adopted—but Parka is still waiting. Since then, Parka has overcome so much. She completed heartworm treatment and had a tumor removed, and today she is fully vetted, healthy, and ready for a fresh start. She has gained a ton of confidence in her foster home and even did a board and train with a professional trainer to learn basic commands and build more confidence. Parka is a really good dog. She’s gentle, sweet, and thrives in a calm home. She loves other dogs and gains so much confidence from them, so a home with another friendly dog is a must for her. With her foster mom, she is affectionate and loyal. She can be a little shy with new people (especially men), but with patience and kindness, she warms up beautifully. She might always remain timid with men, so any men - if any - in her forever home have to be extra patient with her. She is crate trained, potty trained, and does great in the home. She's gained amazing leash skills and now goes out and about with her foster mom and fur sibling. After everything she’s been through, Parka is simply looking for peace, love, and someone who will make her feel safe forever. She has so much love left to give, she just needs someone to give her the chance. Meet and greets and adoption trials are available! Apply at: BridgeBetweenAnimalRescue.org/adopt 📍 Parka is our only dog located in Fort Mill, SC
