He came to us during the recent ice storm, and while his past may have been difficult, we’re determined to give him the loving future he’s always deserved. Gerald is in his golden years, but he still has so much love to give. What he needs now is a quiet, patient home where he can finally experience what it means to be cherished. Because he’s never had to interact with other dogs, Gerald would do best as the only pet in the home—where he can soak up all the attention and affection. Our cup runneth over with innocent puppies who are left in rural shelters who cannot find homes or rescues to help them. Critter Cavalry Rescue is begging for help with these 7 week old 4-6 pound puppies who are languishing at a shelter that will soon have to euthanize in order to make room. There are 30+ more puppies at this same shelter that are not moving anywhere. These little precious munchkins are going to be 40 pound pups tops but for now…. they are little and desperate for a foster home. It’s been said that “good things come in small packages,” and we couldn’t agree more! Our favorite 20lb beagle, Vivienne is officially ready to find her forever family! Vivienne is about 8 years old and is absolutely precious. Don’t let the number 8 fool you, she still has plenty of energy and life left! Vivi loves every human , even the tiny ones. She currently lives with a 2 year old human foster, and two big dogs, who she gets along great with! Vivi is house-trained and kennel-trained, she will go in on command, and sleep through the night without a peep- okay well maybe some snores. She does have some separation anxiety but her fosters have been working on that, and Vivi has made amazing progress. Viv loves to spend her days roaming the backyard, and protecting you from squirrels. Because she’s a hound and her nose has a lot of work to do, she would do best with a secure fence. She enjoys long naps on the couch and walks to the fridge. The ideal home for this sweet girl would be with someone who is patient and understanding. We aren’t sure what Vivi went through, but she didn’t have many kind hands petting her, so she can be nervous at first. Vivi would do best with another dog to help her continue to build her confidence.

Meet this little Foxy lady! Foxy is a sweet small soul with lots of smiles (and ears) to go around! She is very well trained in different aspects. She’s a pro at walking on a leash (she’s a short walk kind of gal), she loves her crate and goes right in with no trouble. She loves her bed, but prefers snoozing and dreaming on the couch. She occasionally wants to indulge in a snuggle session in a comfy chair with her person. She will always let you know when she needs to go outside to potty with a whine or lone bark at the door! She has not had any accidents in her foster home. If she had to choose a favorite toy, it’d probably be her tug rope! She likes to play fetch, however, don’t be offended if she forgets to bring the ball back. If you incentivize her with a scrumptious treat if/when she brings the ball back, she’ll do better the next time! She’s also a fan of car rides and getting a pup cup when mom/dad get a coffee. She does well with other dogs when introduced slowly. She is a little apprehensive of big dogs at first (might be her small size). But, once she is familiar with other dogs, she does perfectly fine. She has done amazing around children and enjoys playing with them! She does like her privacy when getting a treat or being fed (she’s a foodie). She does best eating in her crate. She tends to be afraid the other dogs will steal it, and so we like to give her space for her to enjoy in peace. All in all, Foxy would make a great addition to a loving family! She has lots of love, ears, and loyalty to go around and would be thrilled if she could have a family of her own! If you’re in the market for a lowkey pet with a Colgate smile and some missing teef, Foxy is your girl!

Meet Shautae! This shortstack of sweetness wants your help finding a forever family. Shautae, we we affectionately call Taetae and Shorty, is an absolutely adorable mixed breed with an estimated birthday of 09/01/2020. There has been some debate amoung our staff about what breed she is, but we have settled on a Pointer-Basset hound mix, weighing in aroudn 45lbs. What Shorty lack in height, she more than makes up for in her loving personality. Shorty makes friends as easy as pie, and you'd be hard pressed to find someone who wasn't charmed by her tiny little legs. If you were to ask our staff about some of Taetae's favorite things, they would probably tell you how much she loves to lounge in the sun! This beautiful girl will take every chance she can get to lay out on one of her beds in the sunshine and catch some rays. Shautae also loves the company of other dogs, but as always we require a meet and greet if you already have any at home. She is suited to a home without cats.
