Story
Chance looking for his second chance  Meet Chance Some dogs are given a name that fits them perfectly, and Chance is one of them. This sweet 5-year-old Beagle mix received his name because he was given a second chance at life—and he has embraced it with his whole heart. Chance came from a hoarding/ animal abuse case where his owners were consequently arrest, arrested.  Despite everything he's been through, Chance has never lost his love for people. His tail still wags, his eyes still light up when he sees you, and he still believes that his forever family is out there waiting for him. Chance is one of the sweetest dogs you'll ever meet. He loves attention, enjoys spending time with his people, and has a gentle, loving personality that makes it impossible not to fall in love with him. He is a little on the chubby side at 56lbs and loves to be a couch potato, though we have put him on an exercise regimen and a diet. Chance is currently heartworm positive, but that doesn't define who he is. He is receiving treatment and deserves the comfort of a loving home while he completes his journey to recovery. His future is bright, and all he needs now is someone willing to give him the love and security he has always deserved. Chance was given a second chance at life. Could you be the one to give him his second chance at a forever home?  Please write to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrtennessee@gmail.com  September 15, 2026, 10:38 pm

Story
Meet Ganache — a little chocolate-covered heartthrob who is about to steal yours! ❤️Seriously, just look at this face. Those enormous doe eyes, those wonderfully long hound-dog ears, and that gorgeous chocolate and tan coloring are enough to make anyone swoon. But the best part? Ganache’s personality is every bit as adorable as his looks. This Beagle/Chi mix boy is a total social butterfly who seems to believe that everyone he meets is simply a friend he hasn’t gotten to know yet. People? Loves them. Dogs? Loves them. Attention? Absolutely! Ganache has even attended several puppy yoga classes, where he happily mingled with puppies and was cuddled, handled, and fussed over by people of all ages. He thought the whole experience was fantastic and was clearly born to be the center of attention! And yet, for such a fun-loving little guy, Ganache has an impressively sweet off-switch. When the excitement is over, he is perfectly content to curl up in his crate for a nap or quietly watch whatever is happening around him. He doesn’t need to be entertained every second of the day and is already showing the ability to settle nicely when left alone. He’s also off to a wonderful start with his potty training. Ganache sleeps through the night without accidents in his pen and consistently uses his pee pad during the day. We expect this handsome boy to top out around 20–25 pounds when fully grown — a great size for adventures, cuddles, and taking up just the right amount of space on the couch.Ganache really is the whole puppy package: adorable, social, adaptable, affectionate, and already showing such wonderful manners for his age. He’s ready for a family who will continue guiding him as he grows and, in return, will have a loyal little shadow who thinks life is one big party as long as he gets to be part of it.If you’ve been waiting for the puppy who makes you say “Oh, I NEED him,” we have a feeling Ganache may be your guy. Story
Every day in rescue brings another story that is harder to understand than the last. The number of innocent dogs and cats being abandoned, neglected, and left behind feels endless — yet somehow, they still choose to trust again. Sweet Eddie is one of those dogs.   At just a year old and around 30 pounds, Eddie is the kind of little Beagle mix who instantly steals your heart. With his soft eyes, adorable round body, and gentle expression, he looks like he was made to curl up in someone’s lap and finally feel safe. Beneath that precious face is a boy who has already experienced far too much disappointment in his short life.   Eddie came from a heartbreaking situation of neglect and abandonment alongside eight other dogs. While they were all friendly, you could see the uncertainty and fear they carried with them. But even after everything he has been through, Eddie’s loving nature was impossible to hide. Within just 24 hours in foster care, his personality has already begun to bloom. The worried little dog from intake has been replaced with a smiling, hopeful boy who now welcomes affection from his foster mom and happily enjoys the companionship of the other dogs in the home.   There is something especially special about Eddie. He has a vibrant energy to play and stay with his people and other dog all day.  He is sweet and shy and outgoing all at the same time.  He would be best with a younger dog that wants to be his romping  partner in crime.  He kind of makes people instantly feel connected to him with his eager nature to be your best friend. He does demand attention — he leans into it, soaking up every kind word, every gentle touch, every moment of kindness he may have gone without for far too long.   We can picture Eddie fitting beautifully into so many different kinds of homes. He would make children beam with excitement and pride to call him their own. He would thrive as a loyal companion for a young couple starting out in an apartment or condo. He would also make the perfect walking or hiking partner for an empty-nesting couple looking for a devoted little shadow to share life with. Eddie is wonderfully versatile because what he truly wants is simple: love, security, and someone who will finally choose him forever.   He is fully grown, fully ready, and fully deserving of the kind of commitment he has never known before. Eddie is not looking for perfection — just a family willing to open their heart and help rewrite the rest of his story with love, patience, and belonging.       ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED. Story
Madeline is a senior girl that came to us from the local Humane Society and we pulled her because we thought she was a great fit for BR and we knew we could help her. Madeline has a laundry list of medical concerns including Heartworm (which we will begin treating asap), a couple of lumps and bumps, some level of heart disease that we will be diving more in to, and Hypothyroidism along with arthritis. We need to get a little more familiar with her and her medical concerns before we consider opening her up for adoption.September 10, 2026, 6:03 pm

Story
Meet River--a sweet girl whose love runs deep! This affectionate and smart pup is patiently waiting for her forever home and can't wait to show off her big brain and her even bigger heart. River loves to snuggle and be around her favorite people, and she has also lived with other dogs, making her an ideal candidate for a home with resident pups. Also, she's potty-trained, which means she is ready to hop right into your routine. Not only is she loving, dog-friendly, and potty-trained, but she also already knows quite a few commands, including sit, down, turn around, and "say please!" She may not be a puppy anymore, but she'd probably be down to learn a few new tricks (especially if you tell her what a good girl she is and give her a yummy treat)! River is ready to be your new bestie! Come to shelter during visiting hours to meet her!

Story
It’s been said that “good things come in small packages,” and we couldn’t agree more! Our favorite 20lb beagle, Vivienne is officially ready to find her forever family! Vivienne is about 8 years old and is absolutely precious. Don’t let the number 8 fool you, she still has plenty of energy and life left! Vivi loves every human , even the tiny ones. She currently lives with a 2 year old human foster, and two big dogs, who she gets along great with! Vivi is house-trained and kennel-trained, she will go in on command, and sleep through the night without a peep- okay well maybe some snores. She does have some separation anxiety but her fosters have been working on that, and Vivi has made amazing progress. Viv loves to spend her days roaming the backyard, and protecting you from squirrels. Because she’s a hound and her nose has a lot of work to do, she would do best with a secure fence. She enjoys long naps on the couch and walks to the fridge. The ideal home for this sweet girl would be with someone who is patient and understanding. We aren’t sure what Vivi went through, but she didn’t have many kind hands petting her, so she can be nervous at first. Vivi would do best with another dog to help her continue to build her confidence.

Meet the cutest little guy around! He is a compact ball of love and we call him our "Walmart Greeter". Carson's person died a couple of years ago and he is needing a new home. Carson is a happy little guy who loves everyone and gets along great with other dogs. Carson is playful, housebroken, snuggly, likes to play with toys and would love a family to call his own again. This little guy is part Shih Tzu part.... Bassett?? A short, stocky little man for sure. Don't let those little legs fool you though, he likes to run and play with the big dogs.
