After only a few walks, Caleb is getting so much better at relaxing and enjoying the walk without pulling the whole time. He's much better in a kennel (used when we leave the house), and only barks for a few minutes before he quiets down. Caleb really loves to be near a human to give and receive love. Everybody, meet Ranger! Ranger is a 1.5-year old Beagle! He loves sleeping with us, cuddled behind our legs. He does okay sleeping in his kennel as well. He is so loving and energetic. He loves to run, fetch, tug, play, and go for walks. He is always happy! He loves treats and is very food motivated! He loves cuddles and meeting new people! He is just a big ball of fur and love! We do not have a lot of information on Jack’s past, only that a Good Samaritan rescued this sweet beagle boy from a bad situation. We have no idea why he is so terrified of people, but we have noted that he is generally less afraid of women and that he is terrified of anyone carrying anything in their hands. Jack is such a handsome boy and it is heartbreaking to see him so scared of everything. His eyes say it all. We’re pretty sure there is a lot of love inside this sweet boy that he would like to share with someone. As scared as he is, he has never shown any aggression towards people. He even went through multiple surgeries to correct cherry eye in both eyes and he was a perfect patient during recovery when he had to wear the awful ‘cone of shame’ and had to have eye drops multiple times every day. Approximate age/birthdate: May 19 2019 Weight/size: 30 lbs Housebroken: YES unless he gets scared and piddles Crate trained: YES Personality: extremely shy, very wary of people, enjoys the company of other dogs Energy level: medium Fenced yard required?: YES a 6’ physical fence is required, NO EXCEPTIONS, no underground/electric fence. Does he/she jump fences? He definitely could jump or climb a wire fence or chain link fence. He did escape from a foster home yard once and it was scary! His current yard has privacy fencing. Leash walk with manners: YES … once you get a harness on him, he will walk, although hesitantly when he is taken to a new location Obedience training: NO Riding in vehicles: RIDES OK Spayed/neutered: YES Up-to-date on routine vaccinations: YES Microchipped: YES Social with other dogs: YES Social with cats: NO CATS will be best Good with children: Will probably be best with respectful, calm children ages 10 and up. He will often shy away from human touch, so children would need to be mature enough to understand his fear and the responsibilities of keeping him safe. Adoption donation: $175 We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits. You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references. Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.
