Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi … my name is Jack!  I have some special needs because I am super shy and I am a flight risk.  Read my bio to find out everything you need to know about me.   If you think I might be the perfect pup for you, go to www.allamericanmuttrescue.org/forms and complete the adoption application online. We do not have a lot of information on Jack’s past, only that a Good Samaritan rescued this sweet beagle boy from a bad situation.  We have no idea why he is so terrified of people, but we have noted that he is generally less afraid of women and that he is terrified of anyone carrying anything in their hands. Jack is such a handsome boy and it is heartbreaking to see him so scared of everything.  His eyes say it all.  We’re pretty sure there is a lot of love inside this sweet boy that he would like to share with someone.  As scared as he is, he has never shown any aggression towards people. He even went through multiple surgeries to correct cherry eye in both eyes and he was a perfect patient during recovery when he had to wear the awful ‘cone of shame’ and had to have eye drops multiple times every day. Approximate age/birthdate:  May 19 2019 Weight/size:  30 lbs Housebroken:  YES unless he gets scared and piddles Crate trained:  YES Personality: extremely shy, very wary of people, enjoys the company of other dogs Energy level: medium Fenced yard required?:  YES a 6’ physical fence is required, NO EXCEPTIONS, no underground/electric fence. Does he/she jump fences?  He definitely could jump or climb a wire fence or chain link fence.  He did escape from a foster home yard once and it was scary! His current yard has privacy fencing. Leash walk with manners:  YES … once you get a harness on him, he will walk, although hesitantly when he is taken to a new location Obedience training:  NO Riding in vehicles:  RIDES OK      Spayed/neutered:   YES Up-to-date on routine vaccinations:   YES Microchipped:   YES Social with other dogs:  YES Social with cats: NO CATS will be best Good with children:  Will probably be best with respectful, calm children ages 10 and up.  He will often shy away from human touch, so children would need to be mature enough to understand his fear and the responsibilities of keeping him safe. Adoption donation: $175 We are an all-volunteer group, so please be patient and understand that it takes an average of 7-14 days to process the applications including reference checks, follow-up questions and home visits.  You can expedite the process by providing accurate email addresses for all your references.  Time to make phone calls is limited and we often have multiple applications in process.  We make every effort to move through them as quickly as possible. When your application is approved, we will schedule a home visit/meet-and-greet to see if Jack picks you too. If it seems that the adoption will be a good match for all, there is an adoption fee, and an adoption contract to be signed. Please feel free to email weluvpups@hotmail.com if you have additional questions.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.November 3, 2024, 1:59 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. "My Home to Yours” “This is Ollie, beagle/hound mix, female. She is a sweet dog, very gentle and loving. She does great with other dogs, not sure about cats. She loves to take naps and play with toys. It would be great if she had a fenced in yard as she does like to explore with her nose. She loves to walk and lay in the sun.” We are told she is current with vaccinations. If this looks like a dog, you might be interested in meeting, please apply for Ollie by going to our website at www.friendsofcampbellcounty.org.   We have had numerous requests from citizens in our county to help them rehome their pets, but they are willing to keep them in the home until it happens, rather than bring them to the overflowing shelter at Campbell County Animal Control near Yellow Branch. We are listing those cats and dogs on our website as "My Home to Yours." We ask that interested adopters fill out the FOAC application, and we will pass it along to the family wanting to rehome. We cannot guarantee health, temperament, or behavior for these pets, as we have not met them. However, we are happy to act as a resource for issues that may arise. **For pets not spayed or neutered, we are happy to help set that up! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.JOEY is one of the ten dogs brought into the shelter two weeks ago after their family moved away and left them behind. Joey and his brother JC are the shyest and least social of all the dogs, and we are working hard to earn their trust. Here’s what one of our volunteers says about Joey: “I had to convince him to come out of the kennel to see me, and once he did, I had to then work with him and let him think that everything was his idea before he would cooperate with me.” Joey, is about 30 pounds. And he could be a beagle mix. These pictures make him look like a miniature St. Bernard! Because we have no clue what the family background was like for the dogs, other than ill care and neglect, we feel they would be better in a home where there are no young children running around. To apply to adopt this three-year-old, or his brother, or any other dogs at our shelter, please start with an application: https://www.friendsofcampbellcounty.org/info/adoption   PLEASE NOTE: This pet has been posted by Friends of Campbell County Animal Control, Rustburg, VA. For questions about the pet, please email us at FOACinfo@gmail.com. All adoptions begin with an application, found under the "Animals" tab on our website, friendsofcampbellcounty.org. *Unaltered babies under the age of six months can be adopted only to residents of Campbell County, the City of Lynchburg, and counties touching Campbell County. *Unaltered adult pets six months or older will need to be sterilized before they can be adopted outside our local area of Campbell County, the City of Lynchburg, or counties touching Campbell. *We do not promote dog adoptions to homes where an invisible fence is the fencing of choice. *We do not permit cats or kittens to be declawed following adoption.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 5, 2025, 10:19 am

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Millie arrived as a stray, and remains unclaimed. she went to a foster home. She is being loved and cared for, and given all the attention. She missed for many years when she apparently was used to generate puppies. She was a good puppy mom, but now she deserves a chance to be a beloved pet. her foster family realizes what she needs and is willing to give her the time to absorb being alone with no duties. Millie does not appreciate digs that are larger than she is, and seems more comfortable around smaller dogs. We will continue to monitor her adjustment to being a pet as she learns to live in harmony with others. Millie is going to be spayed toward the end of November, once her skin infection clears up. She was positive for exposure to Lyme disease so that will also be treated.  Millie weighs 22 pounds, and is between six and eight years old. PLEASE NOTE: This pet has been posted by Friends of Campbell County Animal Control, Rustburg, VA. For questions about the pet, please email us at FOACinfo@gmail.com.
