Beagle Bailey has the face of a Beagle and the legs of a gazelle. He is trained to use a pet door and has been accident-free since arriving here. He's a sweet little boy that needs a family who will help boost his confidence. We think he's around a year or 2 old and he is healthy and ready to travel now. He seems to be afraid of men so a home with females or smaller quiet males would be best for him and another friendly dog would also help him feel more comfortable. This girl is 26 pounds of energy and love. She had to be captured by the local animal control officer and was prettified. She was lunging and growling and very upset. But something in her eye just pleaded for me to help her. So I picked her up from the shelter and brought her home where George (our cat) helped me show her that humans and other animals are good. George helped her calm down and let her guard down and after about an hour she was giving me lots of kisses. She is hilarious and is definitely a lover. She may need a couple of minutes to feel safe, but once she does, she is glued to you. She is extremely smart, loves to go for rides, walks and hikes or any adventure (we went kayaking) She prefers not to be left alone as she does have some separation anxiety. He has that tradition brown, black, and white coloring, along with tradition microfiber-soft ears. Yes, and he's got those gentle brown eyes that melt your very soul. But better than that, this diminutive hound (27 lbs) wants to do everything right. He is clean in his room, keeps his bedding nice, walks politely on lead, and comes when you call him. We haven’t seen this boy to be a barker or howler in the ways of typical beagles . Liking other dogs, and being lovable with every person he encounters, adds to little guy's many good traits. My days are filled with all the classic Beagle activities - you know, sniffing out the world's secrets, exploring the great outdoors, and serenading everyone with the sweet songs of my people. I'm a goofy, funny soul with a Beagle voice that I love to use - you'll never have a dull moment with me around! Being the sophisticated Beagle that I am, I'm house and crate trained, making me the perfect addition to any cozy home. However, I'm not really cut out for apartment living because, well, I've got a lot to say! I get along swimmingly with other dogs, though I might need a breather if they play a bit too rough - a Beagle's gotta keep it classy, after all. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Lillie earned a new name after being called "Blackie" for a few weeks. We admire her ability to adapt, despite first being abandoned and then transitioning to "shelter dog." We have high hopes that she can find a home where she can be loved and adored! Nice size, lived with children for a short time. She does not like other dogs up in her face and needs some time to get to know them. She has done well with Lewis, a mind-your-own-business dog who is easy care and has few cares in the world. And, the more time we spend with her and the more opportunities she is  given to socialize with other dogs on a positive note, she has done well with them. We think she probably still prefers male dogs to females, but  are open to anything out at this point. Lillie  is house trained, but likes to urinate a lot (we call her a “frequent pee-er”) and she has a very discerning nose. She loves to put her nose to the ground and follow it when she smells good things.
