Story
We received a call for help, this person had more then 20 animals on his property, adults and puppies he needed food and to get the girls fixed. A local spay/neuter clinic helped with spay/neuter, rabies and heartworm testing. All the adults were taken back to the owner and he is given dog food to help with feeding them. We were able to take in some of the young pups, had them heartworm tested (which was negative) spay/neutered all vaccines and microchipped. We took the puppies hoping they would be heartworm negative and they are. Since having them here we have had to work with them to learn to trust us, at first they will be a little nervous but give them time and they will fill your heart. They are crate trained, but not house broken. If you have a big heart and would like to give these puppies a chance, please email BakerBridgeRescue@aol.com and ask for an application, we would love to talk with you in detail about each pup. Once approved, we will call you. We transport every other week to a location near you with the most animal friendly transport - Rescue Riders Transport.

Story
Beagle mixBullet was born December 8, 2021 to a Cocker Spaniel mom and Beagle dad. He is good with everyone but he does like to chase cats. Bullet is completely crate trained, and working on house training since he has been in his foster mom’s home. Bullet walks great on a leash, but like any typical Beagle, his nose never leaves the ground. Bullet is extremely sweet natured, and plays well with his four legged foster siblings. Please send us your phone number if you would like to hear more about Bullet. June 5, 2023, 9:18 am

Story
TIME SENSITIVE! SPECIAL NEEDS! Trisha needs a home SOON! Remember Trisha? She came to us from a shelter a couple months ago. She was hit by a car about 6 months before being taken to the shelter but her owner didn't take her to the vet. We quickly learned that she is incontinent because the end of her spinal cord is severed. Trisha is happy, and playful and loves attention. She is not good with cats or any dog who seems dominant at all and may be most successful as an only pet. She loves people and would most likely be just fine with kids! Trisha would be happy and manageable in a home with a fenced yard for her to spend the day in. She could wear a diaper to come inside for family time and sleep in a crate at night. She will be more prone to urinary tract infections and will need regular medical care. We love Trisha and hope we can find someone else who will adore her and be able to manage her needs. Trisha has been spayed and vaccinated and we are happy to waive her adoption fee. Trisha is about 4 years old and weighs about 45 pounds. Apply NOW at www.augustadogadoptions.org. Trisha is located near Staunton,Va.

Story
Kimmy is a sweet, petite, mixed breed dog who is about 2 years old and weighs 45 pouns. Kind and shy by nature, Kimmie loves other dogs and has been in a foster home with kids. She enjoys peace, quiet, reading non-fiction and sipping hot tea. She also enjoys the freedom of a fenced yard and the company of other dogs. Kimmie has been patiently waiting for someone to want her. Can you make her dream of a forever home come true? Augusta Dog Adoptions is a 501c3, foster- based rescue. We take applications online and schedule adoptions in Waynesboro, VA. A $175.00 adoption fee ($300 for puppies under 6 months old) helps us take care of all the dogs we rescue. All dogs are spayed/neutered, tested for heartworm and tick borne diseases (if old enough), microchipped, and vaccinated for rabies (if old enough), distemper/parvo and bordetella. They are also treated for internal and external parasites. Many dogs also receive extensive medical care such as dental work and major surgeries. Story
Hi there! I'm Carmella and I'm a 1 year old or so Mixed Breed that is looking to join your family and become your newest, bestest pal ever! I came to SVASC as a stray, so staff don't know too much about me (and my lips are sealed) but what they can tell you is that I really deserve a loving, patient human, not much unlike yourself. I can be a little timid and shy when first meeting new folks, but if you give me some time to remember that I'm brave, I really do come out of my shell. Once I know and trust you, man, I just can't get enough and am all about giving and getting kisses, tummy rubs, and snuggles. I am a pretty low energy dog here at the shelter and would probably be happiest spending most of my time cuddling on the couch or going for short walkies. My adoption fee is $125, which covers all of my vetting. If you would like more information on me, please give SVASC a call at (540) 943-5142, email SVASC at ewiles@co.augusta.va.us, or stop by during open hours and ask for Carmella.
