Story
We received a call for help, this person had more then 20 animals on his property, adults and puppies he needed food and to get the girls fixed. A local spay/neuter clinic helped with spay/neuter, rabies and heartworm testing. All the adults were taken back to the owner and he is given dog food to help with feeding them. We were able to take in some of the young pups, had them heartworm tested (which was negative) spay/neutered all vaccines and microchipped. We took the puppies hoping they would be heartworm negative and they are. Since having them here we have had to work with them to learn to trust us, at first they will be a little nervous but give them time and they will fill your heart. They are crate trained, but not house broken. If you have a big heart and would like to give these puppies a chance, please email BakerBridgeRescue@aol.com and ask for an application, we would love to talk with you in detail about each pup. Once approved, we will call you. We transport every other week to a location near you with the most animal friendly transport - Rescue Riders Transport.

Story
Shirley is a Beagle/Terrier/Chi mix and is about 8 months old. She is good with other dogs and cats. She really wants to play with my cat...she is very persistent. She has her own kennel in the dog room next to her foster sister. We are working on sit and shake. Also, leave it and come. Shirley was invited to go hang out with college students at a puppy dog kissing booth on Valentines Day. She did very well and rides good in a kennel in the car She did great with all the college kids Shirley is Super Sweet girl with a little bit of Spice... She is such a snuggley puppy when she is tired and wants to curl up in your lap. Shirley loves to run around the yard and will chase the ball. We are still working on the bringing it back part. She also loves to play with her foster brother (85lb lab) and sister (45lb Basset Hound). Shirley LOVES all kinds of puppy toys, squeaky, fluffy and hard chew bones. She has been such a PRECIOUS girl and we look forward to seeing her grow with her furever family. Thank you for your interest in a Save a Stray pet. The first step is to complete an adoption application. https://www.saveastray.org/forms/form?formid=3635 Once the application is approved, a FaceTime will be set up for a virtual meet and greet. Since we are located in Mobile, AL, this will give you the opportunity to see the pet interact with other dogs, people, and see a bit of their personality. Transports leave every week alternating between the NE and the Great Lakes. We use the most animal-friendly transport on the road. Rescue Riders Pet Transport. They really care about the animals they transport

Story
When Ryder came into our care he was so terrified of people that we could not touch him. It is clear to us that he had never previously lived in a home before, or ever been shown love. Since being in his foster home, he has slowly begun to come out of his shell. He is very good friends with the resident dog in his foster home, and loves to play outside in the fenced yard with her. He is still fearful indoors and enjoys the security of his crate, and his fluffy bed. He prefers to be in the same room and within eyesight of his people, but isn't comfortable approaching for attention yet. Ryder needs a calm, quiet, forever home with humans who are willing to give him the time that he needs to acclimate to indoor dog life. If you ask us, he is TOTALLY worth it. Have you seen the guy? A total cutie!

Story
Beagle mixBullet was born December 8, 2021 to a Cocker Spaniel mom and Beagle dad. He is good with everyone but cats, as he likes to chase them. Bullet is completely crate trained, and working on house training since he has been in his foster mom’s home. Bullet walks great on a leash, but like any typical Beagle, his nose never leaves the ground. Bullet is extremely sweet natured, and plays well with his four legged foster siblings.
