Meet Aloka — You haven’t truly lived until you’ve been greeted by Aloka’s legendary happy butt wiggles—whether you’ve been gone all day or just stepped out of the room for 30 seconds. This sweet boy is all about his people and animal friends and is happiest when he feels like part of a pack. Being alone is his least favorite thing (he’ll let you know with the most adorable little wolfy howls), and he would absolutely thrive in a home with other dogs to keep him company. Aloka is a smart cookie and is catching on to potty training impressively fast. He already knows how to sit and lay down—especially if treats are involved—and will often plant himself right at your feet, sitting politely and looking up at you as if to say, “Excuse me, I am sitting. Where is my treat?” Total lovebug behavior. He’s playful, silly, and loves toys that let him “hunt and pounce.” One of his favorite games is unhusking his toy corn… and howling triumphantly when he reaches the cob. He’s starting to enjoy tug with his foster dog friends and has even begun yipping at them to invite play. His personality is very sweetly submissive, and it’s clear he grew up in a pack—he truly loves being surrounded by other animals. City life is still new to Aloka. Things like cars, people, and busy environments can be a bit spooky, and sometimes he bravely decides he’s had enough and needs to hustle back home. He’s learning every day and gaining confidence with new experiences, including leash walking—though he currently prefers to do adorable snow-dive somersaults every few steps. At home, Aloka is affectionate to his core. He leans his whole body into you when he wants love, adores belly rubs and face kisses, and loves curling up next to you on the couch. At night, he sleeps close by, happy just to be near his people. He follows his foster around from room to room, quietly observing and keeping tabs on his pack. Aloka does well with a dog-savvy cat and shows playful interest while respecting boundaries with guidance. He hasn’t met children yet, but he seems like a dog who would happily welcome them as part of his pack too. If you’re looking for a loyal best friend, a playful companion, or the perfect addition to your dog-loving household, Aloka is ready to wiggle, howl, and love his way straight into your heart. Aloka is from a local reservation. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. An adoption application is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract.
