Story
**Bear is available through our Adoption Ambassador Program and is not onsite at the shelter! Call 320-252-0896 to arrange a meet-and-greet** Meet Dr. Doctor—though his friends simply call him Bear! Bear is a sweet boy who may need a little time to warm up to new people, but once he gets comfortable, his happy and joyful personality shines through. He has been described as a confident dog who enjoys making the most of every day. Bear loves spending time outdoors, whether he's exploring the yard, soaking up the sunshine, or heading out on an adventure. He's also a big fan of car rides and would be happy to ride shotgun on your next road trip. In his previous home, Bear was comfortable both being kenneled and free-roaming in the house. He has lived with children and did very well with them. While he has not lived with other animals, he has been friendly with the pets he has met. As with any new pet, slow and proper introductions to resident animals are always recommended to help everyone adjust successfully. Bear can be enthusiastic on leash and may pull during walks. If you're looking for a way to make walks more enjoyable, ask TCHS staff about the Emily Weiss Walkie available in our Re-Tail Shoppe. Consistent training and positive reinforcement can help Bear continue building good leash manners. If you're searching for a loyal companion with a big heart, a joyful spirit, and a name impressive enough to have earned two diplomas, Bear may be the perfect fit for your family! *Adoption Ambassador (AA) animals are available for adoption but reside in a TCHS foster home instead of in the shelter. Meet-and-greets are scheduled in a first-come, first-served manner. Adoption holds are NOT accepted on AA animals unless the potential adopter has already met the animal. If you are interested in meeting this AA pet, meet-and-greets may be scheduled by calling 320-252-0896. *Adoption holds may be placed on available animals in person or by calling 320-252-0896. An adoption hold reserves available animals for one day after the animal is ready to be adopted. More than one adoption hold may be placed on an available animal and will be honored in the order they were received. Adoption holds are $25 plus tax, are non-refundable, non-transferable and not applied toward the adoption fee. **Minnesota sales tax and an administrative fee ($20 for cats/dogs and $10 for small animals) will be applied to all adoptions. Donations and adoption fees help cover the cost of spay/neuter surgeries, microchipping, vaccinating, deworming, any medical procedures, and general care of all shelter animals. Story
Maximus is a stunning Rottweiler with a quiet strength and a story that only adds to his charm. He came to us missing the paw on his left hind leg due to an old, healed injury - but don’t let that fool you. Maximus gets around just fine! Sometimes he cruises along on three legs, sometimes he uses his stump for balance. Either way, it never slows him down! He’s easy to leash up and enjoys getting out for walks. He takes treats gently and has a calm, independent nature. He’s friendly and enjoys affection, but he’s just as content exploring on his own, taking in all the sights and smells around him. Maximus has a lower energy level, and doesn’t need much in the way of entertainment.  I am looking for a medical foster or foster to possibly adopt!     ##2751993##

Story
Age: DOB 12/13/2024 Dog friendly: Yes, another dog required in her home Cat friendly: Unknown/not tested Kid friendly: No, Pumpkin would do best in an adults only home. Potty trained: Yes, on a schedule Crate trained: Yes ***Needs companion dog in home*** Sweet Pumpkin is a friendly, affectionate pup who came to us all the way from the Rosebud Reservation in South Dakota, where she was living as a stray puppy all alone. When she first arrived, she was scared and unsure with her tail tucked. With strangers, she does still have an initial wariness, but once you are part of her trusted circle, she quickly comes out of her shell. She is a goofy and playful girl who LOVES to cuddle up in your lap, chew on bones and chase balls. Pumpkin is full of affection and gets along great with other dogs. She's also very smart and well-behaved, she's never chewed on anything she's not supposed to, and she's never had a potty accident indoors. She's a pretty quiet girl, but will make noise at appropriate times - which isn't often. She sleeps with the resident dogs at night and happily spends portions of her day quietly in a crate. Pumpkin still has some puppy energy, so she would thrive in a home with a fenced yard. However, as long as she gets daily walks or runs, she'd do just as well without one. Pumpkin's foster family will miss her dearly, but we know she'll bring copious amounts of love to her forever home! Adoption Fee: $425

Story
Meet Ruthie, a Rottweiler both roughly 10/20/2020.    I love all dogs both big and small.  I am kind and mellow and love to play with the resident dog, Spur. I am house trained and quiet as my mom works from home.  She said I am the perfect dog because I am a good eater, not a barker or runner and sleep all night.  I stay close to mom both inside and outside of the home.  I love the crate and often sit in the open crate during the day.  Mom says I need a family who will be patient with me so I can get acquainted and trust.  I am happy to let my mom love me, kiss me, grind my nails, massage my feet and rub my ears.  I love attention and belly rubs once I know and trust you.  A typical Rottweiler who is loyal to his family.  I will be a great family friend but I will need you to allow me to decompress,  possibly taking weeks or months before I am my true self.  The fun and playful Rottie.          Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee:  $425.00  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 29, 2026, 8:01 pm
