Good with kids, Good with dogs,
Story
Hi, I’m Queenie! I’m a big, lovable girl who would make a wonderful match for a somewhat active family. I love going for walks and exploring the world, but I’m just as happy spending the day chilling with my people and soaking up all the belly rubs I can get (which is a lot—fair warning). Because of my size, I’d do best in a home with older kids—I’m gentle, but sometimes I forget how big I am and might accidentally knock someone over when I plop down next to them for cuddles. I walk nicely on a leash, I’m very food-motivated, and I already know how to sit, lay down, come when called, and take treats gently. I’ve done well on my dog test and did great with a foster puppy. I can be a little bossy with another female dog, though, so that’s something to keep in mind. Cuddling is kind of my thing. I’ll happily snuggle with you all day, sometimes flopping right next to you without realizing how much space I take up. I don’t really care about toys, but I do care deeply about walks and belly rubs—especially belly rubs. I’ll lay on my back, smiling with my tongue hanging out, living my absolute best life. My typical day starts early around 5am when I get up with my foster mom to go outside, then it’s breakfast followed by chill time (and trying to sneak in more belly rubs). I usually go on a 30–45 minute walk before noon, then it’s nap time… more naps… some afternoon training or mental stimulation… and yes, even more naps. I love welcoming the kids home from school, eat dinner around 6pm, and spend the evening lounging and stealing affection whenever possible. I’m not kennel trained and honestly prefer sleeping in the bedroom or living room. My favorite parts of the day are belly rubs and walk time. My least favorite part is being kenneled when my family has to leave briefly—I’d much rather stay out with my people. If you’re looking for a sweet, cuddly, walk-loving girl with a heart full of love and a belly always ready for rubs, I might just be your Queen. Queenie is from a local reservation.

Not good with cats,
Story
Meet Tucker, a handsome Rottweiler/Lab mix with a docked tail, an adorable Rottie face, and the kind of puppy-dog eyes that are nearly impossible to resist. Tucker came to rescue as a stray, but you would never guess it from his gentle nature and loving personality. This sweet boy loves being close to his people. One of Tucker’s favorite things to do is “tuck” his head right into you for affection and cuddles. If you stop petting him too soon, he’ll even gently paw at you for more, his polite little way of asking for extra love. Tucker enjoys playing and has a fun, playful side, but he’s not overly rambunctious. After a good play session, he’s happy to settle down and relax in chill mode. He does great with other dogs and takes their cues well, making him a respectful and easygoing companion. He has also been a very polite houseguest in his foster home and hasn’t shown any destructive behaviors. He does very well with kids, takes treats very gently, and already knows some basic commands. Tucker walks fairly well on a leash, though he may show a little excitement when first heading out. He’s continuing to make great progress with his training. Tucker can go all night without potty accidents and does well with potty training during the day on a consistent schedule. He’s also working on kennel training. Because Tucker has a higher prey drive, he needs a cat-free home. Tucker is the kind of dog who will happily be your playmate, walking buddy, and cuddle partner all in one. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a gentle heart and soulful eyes, Tucker may be the perfect match for you.

Story
Honey is a very sweet and lovable girl who lives up to her name! This darling lady has a gentle personality and a playful spirit that makes her a joy to be around. Honey absolutely loves to run, play, and enjoy her time being active. Whether it’s chasing toys, zooming around the yard, or going on long walks, she’s happiest when she can burn off some of her energy and share those fun moments with her people. Honey can be a little sensitive when it comes to new people and unfamiliar environments, so slow and thoughtful introductions are always recommended. Giving her time to observe and adjust at her own pace helps her feel safe and confident. Once she warms up, her sweet and affectionate personality truly shines through, and she becomes a wonderful companion. Because Honey is still learning her manners, she would benefit greatly from a home that can provide a consistent routine along with continued obedience training. Structure and positive guidance will help her build confidence, learn good habits, and become the very best version of herself. With patience, love, and regular activity, Honey will blossom into an incredibly loyal and fun companion. This sweet girl has so much love to give and will make a wonderful addition to a home that is ready to help her grow, play, and thrive. *Adoption holds may be placed on available animals in person or by calling (320) 252-0896. An adoption hold reserves available animals for one day after the animal is ready to be adopted. More than one adoption hold may be placed on an available animal and will be honored in the order they were received. Adoption holds are $25 plus tax, are non-refundable, non-transferable and not applied toward the adoption fee. **Minnesota sales tax and an administrative fee ($20 for cats/dogs and $10 for small animals) will be applied to all adoptions. Donations and adoption fees help cover the cost of spay/neuter surgeries, microchipping, vaccinating, deworming, any medical procedures, and general care of all shelter animals. Story
Age: DOB 12/13/2024 Dog friendly: Yes Cat friendly: Unknown/not tested Kid friendly: No, Pumpkin would do best in an adults only home. Potty trained: Yes, on a schedule Crate trained: Yes Sweet Pumpkin is a friendly, affectionate pup who came to us all the way from the Rosebud Reservation in South Dakota, where she was living as a stray puppy all alone. When she first arrived, she was scared and unsure with her tail tucked. With strangers, she does still have an initial wariness, but once you are part of her trusted circle, she quickly comes out of her shell. She is a goofy and playful girl who LOVES to cuddle up in your lap, chew on bones and chase balls. Pumpkin is full of affection and gets along great with other dogs. She's also very smart and well-behaved, she's never chewed on anything she's not supposed to, and she's never had a potty accident indoors. She's a pretty quiet girl, but will make noise at appropriate times - which isn't often. She sleeps with the resident dogs at night and happily spends portions of her day quietly in a crate. Pumpkin still has some puppy energy, so she would thrive in a home with a fenced yard. However, as long as she gets daily walks or runs, she'd do just as well without one. Pumpkin's foster family will miss her dearly, but we know she'll bring copious amounts of love to her forever home! Adoption Fee: $425
