For more information and the adoption application for Torsten, please visit our website belowhttp://www.coastalgsr.org/dog_profile.php?ID=22690&name=TorstenBrian, now known as Torsten, ended up in the shelter because his previous owners did not get landlord approval before they acquired him. When the landlord found out about him, the poor puppy was turned in. In spite of landing in the shelter, Torsten must have been very loved because he is a sweet and happy pup.Torsten is primarily Belgian Malinois but he may have another breed mixed in there too because of his white chest. He is 6 months old and currently weighs 65 pounds. His puppy brain, in the big dog body, sometimes has trouble keeping his body and limbs coordinated and he can look clumsy but while he is playing. He absolutely loves people and wants to snuggle with his new foster parents all of the time. He is potty-trained and crate trained, but he doesn&#39t really like the crate. He will reluctantly go in it. Torsten&#39s foster home has two large male dogs, including another Malinois, and numerous cats. He knows that his foster brothers are the alpha in this home but he most likely will try to be the alpha dog in a new home, even though he has been neutered. He needs to go to a home that has either a female dog or a very submissive male dog (or no other dog at all). Torsten wants to be the top dog and leader of the pack.He has cautious interactions with the foster&#39s cats and after getting &#39bopped&#39 in the head by them, he knows that are not to be messed with. He knows the words &#39no cats&#39.If you are looking for a young Malinois who has lots of love to give, already has developed some good habits, and is fully vaccinated, microchipped, and neutered, please check out Torsten! The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. For more information and the adoption application for Kodak, please visit our website belowhttp://www.coastalgsr.org/dog_profile.php?ID=22179&name=KodakKodak is an adorable and active (we aren&#39t sure that there&#39s been a word created that truly expresses or characterizes the energy level of a young Belgian Malinois, but we&#39re settling for &#39active&#39 today) Mal pup who was originally purchased by a family who hadn&#39t had a Maligator before and they weren&#39t even his first owners! At just two years old, Kodak had already been in 3 homes. This is a very driven working breed and they do not make good couch potatoes nor are they happy with just two walks a day.Now around 4 years old, Kodak is sweet, happy, friendly, and fast became a volunteer favorite. Initially, he may bark in new situations, but he warms up quickly, knows basic obedience, and is good on a leash. He absolutely adores toys of all kinds and can spend hours chasing down balls (i.e. drive for dayyyyyyys).Kodak has good food and toy drive, so he excels in obedience classes. He bonds quickly, wants to be with you, and will be a wonderful addition to his new family as long as they make a commitment to giving him the training and guidance that he needs. He will do best in a home with no young children. Please know that WE WILL ONLY PLACE HIM IN A HOME WITH PREVIOUS MALINOIS EXPERIENCE.Watch his video here. The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. For more information and the adoption application for Leah, please visit our website belowhttp://www.coastalgsr.org/dog_profile.php?ID=22329&name=LeahLeah came to us a terrified, shut down, feral dog whom animal control had confiscated from a very bad situation. She was so shut down, it took a long (long!) time to get her to allow any type of interaction with humans. We spent month after month earning her trust, socializing her, and teaching her to overcome her many fears. Around 5 years old now, she moved from the training facility into a foster home and is doing fantastic, but will need a special adopter. At first, she was scared to enter the house, the tile scared her, and it took coaxing for her to enter. Leah now seeks affection, is playing with toys, plays with her human foster, is totally comfortable being inside, crate trained, potty trained, and is learning that the world isnâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t such a scary place. She went to the beach for the first time and loved it!While she&#39s your normal, energetic Maligator in her foster home, she is still figuring out the world outside of those doors. She spends time every day being exposed to new things, but when she&#39s scared she does try to bolt. She used to hit the end of the leash and frantically chew to break free (which is why she wears a long fur saver), but now, when something new and loud is that scary, she bolts and stops when she hits the end of the leash, even going into a sit. Leah is a jaw snapping, toy playing, chew obsessed Malinois in her home and is going to need someone who understands Mals, who can supply structure, who is patient, and who can slowly build trust with her. Because she&#39s such a flight risk, we are going to be very careful about where we place her, because she means the world to us.The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500.
