Story
Nixi was recovered from a construction site where she was living with another dog. She was brought into the Humane Society by a good Samaritan. She stayed there for about a month where she was spayed and received all her vaccinations. She is a great dog. She's definitely young - we were quoted two years but she seems younger, which could just be due to lack of socialization. She is loving and cuddly once she warms up to you (which really does not take long). She is progressing on potty training but is not there yet. We unfortunately do not have a yard, which I think would greatly improve her progress. She is high energy & very smart. Unfortunately, we are unable to keep her because she is extremely leash reactive. This wouldn't be an issue, but unfortunately she is also reactive towards people if they make eye contact. We live in a busy apartment so this is unavoidable, and unfortunately her reactions are risking our lease. (Note- reactive NOT aggressive in our experience)

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please review our Adoption Process before filling out an application.  If you would like to try a Foster to Adopt trial, please fill out an Adoption Application.  If you are only interested in temporarily Fostering one of our rescues, please fill out a Foster Application.   Meet Fara! This beautiful shepherd looks like a mali so we are fairly certain if her adopter has a DNA test on her she probably would be a high percentage Mali, after all, she is VERY intelligent. Like all Belgian Mali Fara is an active dog who is looking for a job. An adopter with large property or an apartment setting a daily runner and/or dog parks/hikes where both her mental and physical needs are met. Fara is a very healthy doggo UTD on all medical. Fara has not lived with cats but we have cat tested her and she did well, however, if potential adopter has cats we highly recommending FIRST fostering to make sure kitties are safe. She LOVES children and would be great in a home with kids. Anyone looking for this breed should already have in mind what they need to be able to provide and what will be well matched for them. Fara is of course physically beautiful BUT her personality is amazing too. She is very dog and people friendly. She would thrive with an active household who is looking for an active dog partner. She is potty and crate trained. Fara is such a loving dog with no shown reactivity to dogs/people on or off leash and to keep it that way we would love adopters who BELIEVE in signing up for dog training. Would you like to foster, adopt or jump on a foster to adopt 2 week trial? We highly recommend the FTA trials especially for active dogs to make sure adopters will be able to meet their needs. We sadly don't hold adoption events so please email us or submit applications online to schedule a call to move forward to a meet and greet in san diego. Please review our Adoption Process before filling out an application.  If you would like to try a Foster to Adopt trial, please fill out an Adoption Application.  If you are only interested in temporarily Fostering one of our rescues, please fill out a Foster Application.   Meet Scout!Scout is not only a handsome and loving puppy but very intelligent as well.As of June Scout is close to reaching 30 pounds and likely will grow to be in the 45-60 pound range at a nice medium to large dog. Scout is fostered in San Diego along with a couple of other ARWOB rescue dogs and cats. He is amazing with dogs, a bit intimidated by cats and he just adores humans (men, women and children alike) Scout is your typical Mali breed. Not sure if pure breed or no, and it shouldn't matter to anyone interested in adopting him because he is a rescue dog but if it quacks like a duck and looks like a duck, it must be a duck! ha !Scout's best match for an adoptive family would be one who is looking for an active dog companion. He is not the dog to just be content being in the yard to play. Currently he lives in a home with a yard and has dog and cat friends. He enjoys playing with his dog friends and FOCUSED on his toys. Very toy and food driven. He LOVES going to dog parks and would thrive on mental and physical stimulation like dog beach, hikes, camping, walking or running with his humans. He is crate trained and now house trained in his foster home BUT adopters need to remember adopting a new dog/puppy means you need to be ready to train for your home.We are looking for an adopter who is looking to love a new dog family member AND make sure there is structure and leadership BY enrolling in actual in person dog training in a puppy training/dog obedience 101 with a profesional trainer as regular GOOD dog owner, not only because of his breed but ESPECIALLY because of his intelligent breed. Scout is healthy and ready to find his forever family, untiil then we are sure enjoying having him here as he makes us smile, laugh and leave us in awe on how smart and amazing he is. To meet this little dude submit an adoption application online at ARWOB.orgVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you would like to meet one of our animals, PLEASE fill out an adoption application. Story
Kona is a sweet, smart, healthy, and athletic girl. I adopted her in 2016 and at the time, the vet said was 2-3 years old. I was single then and had lots of time time to spend with her. I’m now married with two small children, a full time job (active duty military) and a husband who deploys regularly. I can no longer give Kona the get the exercise or attention she deserves and she is home alone all day which causes her anxiety. It pains me to have to look for a better home for her, but the circumstances of my life aren’t fair to her. I’m hoping to find someone who can love her and give her the attention she deserves.
