Story
The sweetest babe! Hi, I’m Lula! I’m a 4-year-old, 64-pound Belgian Malinois mix, and I will be spayed soon. I came from a family in Lakeside, CA, but sadly, they had to leave and could not take me due to life's circumstances. I am fully bathroom and crate trained and working on my leash manners. I was raised around cats, dogs, and kids, so I’m pretty familiar with family life. I take a little time to warm up to new dogs and people, but once I do, I’m super sweet and affectionate. I really love playing with my ball and tug toys, they’re my absolute favorites! I also love going for walks, car rides, and of course, snuggling with my humans. When I’m not playing or going on adventures, I’m all about being close to my people. I’m a great protector, and I’ll bark if I see or hear something new, but I can always be calmed down with some gentle words. I’m very sensitive, so I respond best to soft voices when it comes to directions and corrections. I’ve never had an accident in the house, and I haven’t destroyed anything — I’m a good girl like that! I’m super playful, smart, and eager to please, so I pick up new tricks quickly. I’m great with kids and calm dogs (after we have some time to get to know each other), and I really love people once we’ve had a proper introduction. I would do best with an active family or owner who can take me on hikes, long walks, or even teach me some dog agility. I’m a wonderful companion and I’m looking for a forever home where I can be the best dog I know how to be. If you think we can be furever together, let's meet! I know my old family would love that for me... My adoption fee is $300 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/ ##2305699##

Story
Meet Pumpkin: From Feral to Fabulous. When Pumpkin first arrived, she was a ghost of a dog—shut down, unsure, and utterly heartbroken. She was 9 months old when we saved her and her sister from a high-kill shelter in LA. They were the tiniest dogs we'd ever seen. They were like real-life stuffed animals. When Pumpkin first arrived, she was only 24 lbs at 9 months old! She was so shut down, avoiding eye contact for the fear of being noticed, and moved like a shadow, silent and scared. But even then, there was a spark in her eyes, a tiny ember of hope. Now, at ruffly 1 y/o, this Malinois mix who had only learned that the world was a scary place is now thriving in her foster home. With time, patience, and the gentle guidance of her foster fur siblings, Pumpkin is learning what it means to feel safe. She’s learning that hands can offer LUV, that voices can be kind, and that not all humans are to be feared. Her progress is nothing short of remarkable—day by day, step by step, she’s beginning to let LUV in. Pumpkin LUVS other dogs. They are her comfort zone. Her role models and her security blankets. A confident canine friend in her furever home will help her continue to blossom. She’s still shy with people, but give her time and space, and she’ll reward you with the most beautiful kind of loyalty and LUV. Pumpkin is ready for a family who sees past her ruff beginning and into the heart of a survivor. Someone who will celebrate the little wins: the first tail wag, the first nuzzle, the first moment she chooses you. She’s not just learning to live. She’s learning to trust. And that makes her story one of the most beautiful we’ve ever told. Pumpkin is looking for a forever home with: Another friendly dog (or dogs) to show her the ropes A calm, patient environment A family that believes in second chances This is Pumpkin’s redemption story. Want to help her write the next chapter? Fill out an application to meet Pumpkin and your new furever LUV!

Story
Hi, I’m Kabru! I’m a 3-year-old, 73-pound German Shepherd mix with a big personality and an even bigger heart. My journey started at Pasadena Humane as part of a fire relief effort before I made my way to TAP. I spent about three months in the shelter before getting my second chance, and now I’m ready to find my forever home! I’m a lovable, high-energy goofball who’s always ready for fun! I’m smart, affectionate, and love being the center of attention—but I’ll admit, I can be a little mischievous too (in the most charming way, of course). I thrive in an active home that keeps me engaged, and while I sometimes struggle with focus and have a little separation anxiety, I have so much potential! I’d do great with structure, training, and even a job to keep me busy. Whether it’s a long hike, a trip to the brewery, or an evening walk by the bay, I’m always up for an adventure! I’m already crate, leash, and potty trained, though I’m still working on getting even better on leash. Some of my favorite things? Kongs, tug-of-war, and long sniffy walks! I’m looking for an active family who has the time and patience to help me grow into the best companion I can be. I’d love a home with older kids and larger dog friends who can keep up with my energy and help show me how to be a polite gentleman. With the right guidance and plenty of playtime, I know I’ll make an amazing adventure buddy and loyal best friend. Could that be you? My adoption fee is $350 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. If you want to take me home, please fill out the form on the website here: https://theanimalpad.org/adoption-application/ ##2276548##

Story
The Chance of a Lifetime! Hi pals! I’m Chance — a 2-year-old, 87-pound German Shepherd with a heart full of hope and a whole lot of love. My name isn’t just a name…it’s a promise. After everything I’ve been through, I’m here because someone gave me a second chance — and now I’m hoping you will too! I didn’t have the easiest start. I came from a place where I was chained up, starving, and left to chew whatever I could just to survive — rocks, concrete, whatever was near. By the time I was rescued, I was in ruff shape: malnourished, in pain, swollen with abscesses, and with most of my teeth broken down to the gum. TAP saw something in me. They gave me months of medical care, multiple surgeries, and more love than I’d ever known. Today? I’m healthy, pain-free, and finally able to enjoy life the way a dog should. Health-wise, I’ve got a couple of things to keep in mind. I have a heart condition that makes me sensitive to anesthesia — nothing scary day-to-day, but any future procedures need an experienced vet who’ll monitor my cardiovascular health. I don’t need meds, just awareness. I eat a soft diet but you’d never know it watching me chow down — especially with how excited I get (expect a little dance and song)! Despite everything I’ve been through, I’m the happiest boy. I love dogs — every shape, size, and energy level — and I’d do great with another playful pup! I haven’t been around many kids, but I’ve been super sweet with the ones I’ve met. I’m goofy, submissive, and always up for a game of tug-of-war or some zoomies at the park. When it’s time to relax you’ll find me curled up on the couch, tongue hanging out (I don’t have many teeth left to keep it in!). I’m potty trained and I’ll admit — I pull on the leash when I get excited, but I’m eager! I’ve been through a lot, and I do best in a home where someone is around most of the time or where I’ve got a doggy buddy to hang out with. I’m still healing emotionally and companionship means the world to me. Why take a chance on me? I’ve already shown what resilience looks like. I’ve been failed by humans before, but I still love them with everything I’ve got. I’m goofy, loyal, and full of gratitude for every belly rub and cozy nap. I deserve to finally feel safe, cherished, and free to just be a dog! If you’re ready to be the lucky one who gives me my second “Chance,” I promise I’ll be the most devoted, loving companion you’ve ever met! My adoption fee is $250 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. Story
Sweet girl ready to build a life! Hi there! My name is Baylee, and I’m a 7-year-old, 90-pound German Shepherd with a big heart and an even bigger personality. I was rescued from a shelter when I was about 2, and since then, I've been learning what love, patience, and a good game of fetch are all about. I’m bathroom and leash trained, though I’ll admit I can be a little reactive on walks. I’ve got some leash aggression and food aggression, things I’ve been working on, but I’ll need a patient, experienced human who understands me and is willing to keep helping me grow. I’ve lived with other dogs before, an older male shepherd mix and a sassy little female Pom, so I’m dog-friendly! That said, I do best when I’m the only dog in the home. I’ve got a bit of a protective streak and like to have all the attention and adventure for myself. I haven’t been around kids or cats, so I’m not quite sure how I’d do with them. Health-wise, I have anal fistulas that have almost resolved completely, and sometimes get skin infections, but with the right care and a regular routine, I still live a happy, active life. I LOVE brain games like food puzzles and going on fetch missions. I’m playful, curious, and happiest when I’m with someone who gives me time, attention, and structure. If you're looking for a loyal companion who will stick by your side, go on adventures, and remind you how special a bond with a dog can be, I might just be your girl. I’ve come a long way, and I’m ready for a forever home where I can be the center of your world, because I promise you’ll be the center of mine. Let’s make a life together. My adoption fee is $250 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip.
