She was 9 months old when we saved her and her sister from a high-kill shelter in LA. They were the tiniest dogs we'd ever seen. They were like real-life stuffed animals. When Pumpkin first arrived, she was only 24 lbs at 9 months old! She was so shut down, avoiding eye contact for the fear of being noticed, and moved like a shadow, silent and scared. But even then, there was a spark in her eyes, a tiny ember of hope. Now, at ruffly 1 y/o, this Malinois mix who had only learned that the world was a scary place is now thriving in her foster home. With time, patience, and the gentle guidance of her foster fur siblings, Pumpkin is learning what it means to feel safe. She’s learning that hands can offer LUV, that voices can be kind, and that not all humans are to be feared. Hi I'm Xena! I am a 3-year-old Malinois Mix and I weigh 75lbs. I am a huge cuddle bug but need consistent exercise and stimulation due to my breed. My owner unfortunately has to move and she is unable to bring me but this is what she says about me! I am trained to sit, stay, down, off, guard, shake, crate & will wait until you give me the command to eat my food. I would need a little help with jumping because I get excited but I will learn with consistency. I am house trained. not crate trained due to having extreme anxiety from the shelter but with proper guidance and training I can learn. I am extremely ball and food driven. I am amazing with kids and dogs (but need to be introduced in an open setting with dogs) Cats I haven't been around. I am the best dog when it comes to grooming. Hi! My name is Stella. I am a 2 yrs old spayed Shepherd mix and I am 45 pounds. I was rescued at the very last minute of scheduled euthanasia at the highkill shelter in Los Angeles! Thanks to AllJoy4paws Rescue for saving my life! I am currently learning to live my best life with my foster family in San Diego. This is what my foster mom says about me: PERSONALITY: Stella is such a beautiful girl packed with personality. Stella is an affectionate, sweet, loving, and spunky girl. She is curious, has lots of energy, enjoys playtime, and loves attention. In fact, she wants ALL of the attention. She wants to please and is very eager to please. Whether it is going on long walks, or adventures outside, she will be ready to join in on the fun. Stella benefits from mental stimulation and is a quick, and eager learner. She knows the command “sit” when presented with her food or a treat. She is potty trained, has all her shots, is on flea medication, and is spayed. She has been learning to relax in the crate. If she needs to be left alone, she doesn’t seem to mind napping in her comfy crate. She has been fine left alone at home without being inside of the crate, but the crate is beneficial for her to relax. She sleeps in the crate at night. Stella will prance and nudge your hand and want to be your companion, she is non-aggressive and bonds fast. BEHAVIOR: Don’t judge this sweet girl. She may seem overly excited but that is because she is only 22 months old. She is strong and has a deep voice. Stella is living with her human mom and dad, human brother and sister, and her 18 pound Maltese mix doggie brother named Charlie. Stella is learning to share with Charlie. She plays appropriately with him. She can get jealous at times. Charlie is quite smaller than Stella, and Stella likes to use her front paws to play with him. She opens her mouth over him, and although it looks scary, she is only trying to tease him. Stella engages and initiates play activity with Charlie and will sometimes even jump over him. She is polite and will not beg for food. Stella likes to relax on her dog bed, in her open crate, or anywhere on the floor. She redirects well and will listen to the command “Off” as she is learning not to jump on people nor the inside furniture. She listens well and is learning not to go up the steps, and is learning not to sleep in Charlie’s bed. Stella needs a forever home, to be an inside dog (with access to outside) with a loving family that is willing to walk and exercise with her. Although she loves dog companions, if she gets lots of human attention, she will also do well as the only doggie in the house. She is learning proper leash skills. With additional leash training, Stella will make a great addition to a fur-ever family. Currently being cared in Southern California, Stella is ready to embark on a new journey, willing to be transported to everywhere within the US continental, where a wonderful, suitable family awaits to shower her with love and care, and give her the life she deserves.

My journey started at Pasadena Humane as part of a fire relief effort before I made my way to TAP. I spent about three months in the shelter before getting my second chance, and now I’m ready to find my forever home! I’m a lovable, high-energy goofball who’s always ready for fun! I’m smart, affectionate, and love being the center of attention—but I’ll admit, I can be a little mischievous too (in the most charming way, of course). I thrive in an active home that keeps me engaged, and while I sometimes struggle with focus and have a little separation anxiety, I have so much potential! I’d do great with structure, training, and even a job to keep me busy. Whether it’s a long hike, a trip to the brewery, or an evening walk by the bay, I’m always up for an adventure! I’m already crate, leash, and potty trained, though I’m still working on getting even better on leash. Some of my favorite things? Kongs, tug-of-war, and long sniffy walks!
