Smart, kind, and affectionate, Izzy is the kind of dog who forms deep bonds with her people and simply wants to be part of the family.Izzy does wonderfully with children, enjoys the company of other dogs, and has lived peacefully around cats with proper introductions. If a cat runs, her instinct is to chase, but she has shown no desire to harm them. She has also done well around chickens to the best of our knowledge.Unlike the typical high-octane Malinois, Izzy is fairly easygoing. She enjoys spending time in the yard, walks nicely on leash, rides quietly in the car, and remains calm around other dogs without being reactive. She loves toys, treats, and most of all, being with her people.IzzyâÂÂs biggest challenge is separation anxiety. She thrives when she has companionship and does not do well being left alone for long periods. Because of this, she would be happiest with someone who works from home, is retired, or simply has the ability to spend much of the day with her. Shes a great dog. Very funny, loves to swim, fetch, and will fiercely love her people. She is very protective of her territory. She will allow friends and such into the house, but it takes her time to warm up to them.She has never bitten anyone, never had any issues. She's been the only dog in the house for 11 years so I have no idea how she'll be with other dogs in a neutral environment, but she is fiercely protective of our yard right now so I've never tried to socialize her with other dogs.I currently live in a very rural area and she has a half acre backyard. Im about to be moving back into suburbia and I doubt she'll do well there because she barks. She is very smart and as such has also become an escape artist. I solved this issue with a low-voltage hot wire.My current lifestyle is just not conducive to having a dog anymore. Im away from my house about 40% of the time and its just not fair to her. Shes 11 years old, but very young in spirit and shows no signs of slowing down.

He's a great guy, but the shelter stresses him out so he's currently in foster off campus. His fosters report that overall, Zeus is doing very well.
