Story
🐾 Meet Coyote! 🐾 Coyote is a handsome Shepherd/Malinois mix, around 2 years old, and full of personality and drive. This smart boy is great with kids and does well with other larger dogs, though he does best with slow, proper introductions. Because Coyote loves to play hard, he should not be left alone with small dogs, and he is not cat-friendly. He’s an active, fun-loving guy who thrives with structure and guidance. Coyote knows some basic commands, is good on leash, and is both house trained and crate trained. He absolutely loves his toys and is very treat motivated, making him a great candidate for continued training. 🎾 Coyote’s adoption fee includes: ✔️ Neutered ✔️ Rabies vaccinated ✔️ Up to date on all vaccines ✔️ Microchipped ✔️ Dewormed ✔️ Flea & tick treated Coyote is looking for a confident, active home that will continue to help him shine. If you’re looking for a loyal, playful, and smart companion, Coyote may be your guy! 🐶💙

Story
KeevaKeeva is a gorgeous 4-year-old Belgian Malinois who has had an incredible amount of time, training, and dedication invested in her. Her previous adopter put a tremendous amount of work into giving her the foundation she has today, and having to return her was an incredibly difficult decision for him. He is starting a family and, knowing Keeva has never been comfortable around children, made the selfless decision to find her a home that is better suited to her needs.Keeva is a very well-trained dog who knows a long list of commands and responds to them very well. She knows heel, “fous,” out, place/bed, sit, down, stay, and center (positioned between her handler’s legs). She is crate trained, comes when called, walks politely on a leash, and tolerates grooming. She can also be left home alone inside the house without issue.Keeva is a dog who thrives with structure and knows how to work with her person. She loves to run and play fetch and would enjoy an active lifestyle with someone who appreciates a dog that has a job to do. Despite her athleticism, she is also very manageable in a fenced area and has been easily confined when needed.Keeva does have some important boundaries. She is not appropriate for a home with children and would do best in an adult-only home. She can also be protective of her food and toys, so her adopter will need to understand and respect those boundaries and continue managing her appropriately.Keeva is not particularly interested in the company of other dogs. She does not seek them out but should not be expected to be a social dog, although she has not shown a tendency to go out of her way to attack another dog. A home where she can be her person’s dog without the expectation of dog-to-dog interaction would likely suit her best.Keeva isn’t looking for just any home. She needs someone who understands the breed, appreciates structure and training, and is willing to continue the foundation her previous owner worked so hard to build. In the right hands, she is an incredibly impressive dog. Most importantly, Keeva has already had someone who loved her enough to give her an amazing foundation—and loved her enough to recognize when his changing circumstances meant she needed something different. Now she’s looking for her next person. Someone who will appreciate everything she has to offer, give her the structure she knows, and make her a permanent member of the family.September 17, 2026, 9:23 pm

Story
Hi there!  I'm Zander, a 4 year old Belgian Malinois mix, a big boy with a big sensitive heart.  I'lll be honest with you:  I am an 85lb. emotional guy who can be a bit moody when I'm overwhelmed.  Because of my size and my deep feelings, I need a quiet home and a family who will give me plenty of time to settle in at my own pace.  Once I feel secure and settled, I promise to be your ultimate best friend and most loyal protector. I am highly trained and aced my obedience commands,  so I'm a dream to handle for an experienced owner. I prefer a calm, predictable environment and like to keep all your attention to myself, but I do get along with other dogs. An easy going female would be the best fit.  I need a home with no small animals, or children.   If you have a peacefull home and room for a gentle giant and  devoted companion, let's take things slow and build something amazing together. I am neutered, current on vaccines, heartworm negative and and microchipped. Minimum adoption donation: $400.00     Please visit our website at www.edcgsr.com to fill out an application for this dog. ##2785493##

Meet Zeus! A 4 year old Belgian Malinois mix, Zeus is an active guy who loves his people. He knows lots of tricks and loves to play ball. He's food motivated and gets along with other dogs. He's a great guy, but the shelter stresses him out so he's currently in foster off campus. His fosters report that overall, Zeus is doing very well. He is potty trained, crate trained, and does great with our 5-year-old daughter. He loves attention, enjoys cuddling, and is happiest when he’s getting lots of pets and affection. Story
Hello, we have a German Shepherd/Malinois mix. She is five years old, has had some Training and knows English and some German commands. She gets along well with other pets, and people and she loves the water, camping and the beach. Unfortunately, our lives have changed since having her, our kids have moved out of state , and we travel a lot more than we did 5 years ago. However, the biggest change is we are going to be moving and going back-and-forth from our condo in Mexico to the States and are unable to bring her with us. At times Mexico has had restrictions on bringing dogs back into the states so we just can’t chance it. We are hoping to find her a great home that has ample space for her to run and play ( we have a small backyard with no grass) and to have family to continue to love her as much as we do, if not more. It's not the easiest decision, but it is one that we have to make. So we are looking for options. Rick & Jill (xxx) xxx-xxxx

Adoption Event Schedule Events run from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM every month at these locations: 2nd Saturday, Sacramento - Pet Food Express 3rd Saturday, Modesto - Strand Hardware Store 4th Saturday, Roseville - Pet Food Express Please visit the GCGSR Rescue Page for specific address information. All of our dogs are in foster homes and not in one single kennel location.  Adoption events is the best way to meet several of our dogs at once. Kolton is a handsome four-year-old Belgian Malinois. He came from a shelter, so not much is known about his past. While it seems, he wasn't offered much training in the past, he is absolutely a quick learner. He has learned all the basics and continues to pick up more every day. He loves riding in the car and sticking his nose out the window to smell every scent the world has to offer. His other favorite thing in life is cuddling up and sleeping next to his person. He is crate trained and sleeps well in his crate all night long. He is a high energy boy and a bit of a Mexican jumping bean. He is exceptionally athletic and will need to be with somebody who will continue to provide him with the daily exercise and training that he enjoys. Kolton will do well with an active person who is always on to the next adventure. Level 3 Understanding Dog Levels Please be sure you understand what a dog of this Level requires. Go to our home page for an explanation of the Dog Rating Levels. Additional Adoption Information For more information and to see when this dog will be attending an Adoption Day, please see our Dogs page on our main website. (Adoption Process) We operate within a reasonable driving distance from the Greater Sacramento area, the Central Valley down to Merced, and Lake Tahoe. A reasonable driving distance is determined by where one of our volunteers is willing to drive within our areas of service. That means we don't adopt out of our area, to Southern California, or out of state. Puppy Requirements We have special Requirements for Adopting a Puppy and a separate Puppy Questionnaire that must be completed on puppies. Please see our Requirements for Adopting a Puppy or email us at info@gcgsr.org for more information. Thank you for visiting! September 13, 2026, 4:49 pm
