Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.THOR and his brother Loki were found abandoned alongside a rural highway.Temperament/Behavior:Thor is a sweet boy with typical puppy behaviors. He is still scared/cautious of loud noises, sudden unexpected movements, new people and new situations.People:He loves his people but takes a little longer with men, he loves pets and snuggles and toys. He is still learning boundaries and jumps on people when he gets excited. Families with young children would need monitoring as he is a high energy puppy.Training:He will still have accidents if he is not monitored, but if you watch for his signals he does not (we are working on using the bells on the door for notification, but since he is skittish it is a work in progress). He is kennel trained and typically does not have accidents in the kennel. He knows sit, kennel and sit to wait for food. He is a puppy so trying to eat everything outside but is easily redirectable. He is working on recall. He is learning to walk on a leash and making great progress.Pets:He is dog friendly but will need slower introductions for the other dog because he is a puppy and may jump or be too excited. He has not been cat tested.Medical:There are no current medical needsFun Facts:He is incredibly smart. He sleeps in a kennel at night and stays in one during the day with no issues. Thor has a lot of energy and will definitely need an adopter willing to both exercise him and mentallystimulate him through activities. If you're looking for a gorgeous, young, trainable furballwho will love you forever,Thor may be your ideal family member! THOR'S ADOPTION FEE: $400This fee covers only part of what we spend to vet, board and rehab the dogs we save. On average we spend over $450 on each dog. We made a decision to keep our adoption fee at the 2005 level even though vet prices have doubled and tripled since then. We are constantly fundraising to cover the deficit. At minimum, your adoption fee includes the dog's spay/neuter, heartworm test, heartworm treatment if needed, rabies shot, distemper/parvo shot, bordatella shot, deworming, monthly heartworm and flea preventives, and microchip. In many cases it also includes surgery and various types of vet treatment for standard issues such as hot spots, ear infections and so on.INTERESTED IN ADOPTING THOR? We're picky about our adopters. Are you sure you're up to having a GSD? They're not for everyone. They take a lot of time, effort, training. They shed year round. They're big. They scare lots of people. They 'mouth' and herd. They're usually strong-willed and stubborn. You have to have references and a home visit. If you're not willing or able to deal with any of this, please don't waste your time or ours applying. Will the dog be an inside family pet? We do not adopt to outdoor-only homes. All dogs must be indoor dogs. Do you leave your dog outdoors when you're not home? We do not adopt to homes that leave their animals outside when they're gone. You must put your dogs indoors when you're gone. A 3 yr old adopted MOGS dog died when the owners went to run errands, left her outdoors, the gate was somehow opened, and she was hit by a car. Tragic and 100% preventable. Even privacy fences get broken into. Gates are opened. Thieves steal dogs. Never leave your dog outdoors when you're not home!! What's your plan for unexpected events and major changes? New baby? Divorce? Moving? How you will provide for your dog if your family breaks up? Will you make a lifetime commitment? It's your responsibility to keep your dog safe, loved and cared for FOR LIFE. Do you understand we expect you to keep that lifetime commitment? It's YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to stick by your family member -- no matter what. Story
Bosco the Belgian Malinois here! I`m a big strong boy looking for a new home. I`m not all brawn though, I`ve got the brains to match! At three years old I`m in the prime of life and would love an active home that includes me in adventures and training that exercise my mind and body. My breed enjoys training and would have fun on an agility course, but something simple like walks and fetch work too. Bosco is a new arrival and we are just beginning to learn about him. We’ll add more info as we discover more about his personality and fun quirks. But why wait for that when you can find out for yourself?! Come meet him today. He is selective about his dog friends in play group.Bosco is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and ready for a loving forever home!

Story
🐱 🐈 🐱 Cat Friendly 🐱 🐈 🐱 There once was a girl with no name. She found herself pregnant with nowhere to go. Some stranger picked her up and took her to a dark, loud, scary place called Animal Control where she delivered her babies. Now, she not only had to protect herself but also her six precious babies. She worked so very hard to keep them warm, dry, and fed. Little did she know, her little family was scheduled to be euthanized. Thankfully, when her babies were a few days old, she was taken out of that scary place. Her little family was put in a van and drove for a very long time. A nice lady took her and her babies and put them in a warm & comfy place. The nice lady fed her and ensured she and her babies stayed warm and dry. She started to trust this lady & knew she was here to help them. I now have a name, it is Ozark, and this story is about me. I am a 2-year-old, Malinois/German Shepherd mix. I weigh about 65 lbs. I discovered the nice lady taking care of us is my foster mom. She tells me I am a very good girl & I believe her. I listen very well to her and do what she asks. I play with all my foster sibling dogs, big to small, and I smoothly adapt my play style for each of them. I love all our toys, and I share them with the other dogs. I know I am very smart. When we do the fun training sessions I catch on very fast. I also love to walk on my leash and am careful not to pull too hard. I know I am expected potty outside & know never to chew up anything that is not mine. I already know how to sit, kennel up, & off. I know I can learn lots - what do you want to teach me? I am a good girl in my crate, & I’m house trained. At night, I either sleep in my crate or with my foster family. I will be spayed, microchipped, current on vaccinations and flea/tick/heartworm prevention at time of adoption. My adoption fee is $175. To meet me, you just need to fill out an application at PawsitiveTailsKC.org. 🖤🤎❤️🧡💛💚💙💜 APPLY @ PawsitiveTailsKC.org

Story
Gentle Soul is the very best way to describe my personality. Hi&#44 Im Simba&#44 a senior shepherd mix with the softest heart youll ever encounter Ive been through a bit lately. My owner died&#44 and I was brought to the shelter by family who couldnt give me the life they thought I deserved. When I arrived&#44 I had a pretty painful skin infection that caused a lot of my fur to fall out. But good news... Im healing beautifully and making huge strides every day! My glow-up is well underway.

Im the sweetest boy whos ready to enjoy the calmer side of life. I do the sweetest commands - sit and shake! At this stage&#44 Im not really into wild play sessions - Id much rather spend my time relaxing&#44 soaking up love&#44 and enjoying peaceful companionship. Id prefer to be the only dog so I can have all your attention&#44 but I could potentially live with a very mellow&#44 respectful dog who understands that Im not interested in roughhousing.

What am I interested in? Kind voices&#44 soft beds&#44 slow walks&#44 and someone who will love me for the sweet&#44 loving boy that I am. I have so much love to give&#44 and Im just waiting for the right person to see how special I am.

If youre looking for a loyal companion with a heart of gold and a story of resilience&#44 come meet me today - I cant wait to meet you.

Love from Simba

Story
Hi&#44 Im Odin!

Im a 1-year-old German Shepherd weighing 61 pounds of brains&#44 heart&#44 and potential! If youre looking for a smart&#44 eager-to-learn partner&#44 Im your guy.

I love learning new things and really thrive when I get to work with my person every day. Teaching me cute tricks? Lets do it! Giving me jobs around the house? Even better! Im happiest when I have a sense of purpose and know Im making you proud. Training time is my favorite kind of bonding time.

When it comes to other dogs&#44 Im not one to start trouble. I dont initiate aggressive behavior&#44 but if another dog challenges or bullies me&#44 I may respond. Because of that&#44 Id do best with thoughtful introductions and respectful dog friends - or I might enjoy being your one-and-only canine sidekick.

Im loyal&#44 intelligent&#44 and ready to grow into an incredible lifelong companion with someone willing to guide me and keep my mind busy. If youre ready for a devoted teammate who loves to learn and live life with purpose&#44 Im ready to meet you!
