Story
Niko is a special guy, he's eager to learn, goofy boy who loves squeaky toys and snuggling. He's huge at 83 pounds he's a tall strong dog, with great agility. We adopted him as a companion for our female dog in January from kcpet project. They play non stop, however he is reactive to other dogs on leash. He also has bitten a dog a dog daycare in February for which he was removed. I would recommend no other dogs or cats at home with this boy. He resource guards toys and places like beds or sofas for that reason he isn't allowed on furniture. He also currently lives with 2 teenagers who are scared of him due to his resource guarding behaviors, reacting to my children but not me or my husband. A home without children would be ideal. He came to me untrained and with no history. In 3 months he has learned sit, stay, down, shake, up, place, stand, come, leave it, wait, and off. He likes baths, bike rides with bike harness, long walks, and lots of pets! p>

Story
Henrietta is a friendly dog and will be your best friend, especially if treats are involved. She walks so regally on the leash and being treat motivated, learning new things should be a breeze. She attends playgroups but needs to meet any potential dogs prior to going home. Henrietta prefers the company of male dogs. On her Dog Day Out from the shelter, they reported that she had a really nice time riding in the car, walking around a lake and enjoying a pup cup from Scooters. She is so sweet, loves treats and can do all basic commands. No accidents in the house or car! She also did great with their 9 month old baby.Come meet Henrietta today!KC Pet Project provides microchip, spay/neuter, up-to-date on vaccines. Her ADOPTION FEE IS WAIVED! We want all our dogs to have homes as quickly as possible. In an effort to help dogs with longer stays, those who are deteriorating in the shelter environment, or who are harder to place find homes more quickly, the adoption fee for this dog has been waived.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Hi! My name is Nieman and I'm looking for my perfect furever home! I am a pretty unique girl and am looking for that special home, my momma was a Belgian Malinois and my dad was a pitbull so I'm pretty high energy and SUPER smart! I am fully kennel trained and almost 100% potty trained. I also love playing with my foster mom's dogs! I've been around a few cats but tend to chase them and play rough, so I'd do best in a dog-only household. Because of my breed, I will require training and socializing so that I can grow up to be the best girl. I would love to be a part of an active family who will do lots of fun activities with me. If you think I could be your next best friend, I'd love to meet you!

Story
George is a handsome 4 month old shepherd mix puppy looking for his forever home. George's Mom is a Belgian shepherd. Dad is unknown. He has the features of his Mom with his pretty tan coat and black nose. George loves to play with toys no matter what kind of toy it is and is quite the curious boy. He loves to cuddle and give puppy kisses. Given his breed and how smart they are, he would do best in a home who is excited to teach him his manners and new things and who will keep him active given his expected energy level. *George has no problem climbing a 3 foot chain link fence so he would do best with a tall privacy fence* If you are interested in meeting George, please fill out an application via our website at https://therescueproject.net/adoption-application and we will get back to you via email once your application has been reviewed. If you have further questions please feel free to reach out to us at adoptionstrp@gmail.com. George's adoption fee is $250 and includes age appropriate vaccines, neuter, microchip, deworm.

Story
At this point we've given up on sending Wylie to a boarding and training program. They have been swamped with requests, adoptions are slow for dogs without issues let alone dogs with quirks, which means spots opening in The Pet Connection's program are hard to come by. Wylie is good in our indoor/outdoor kennel environment. We have zero issues with him. In a home environment Wylie can become aggressive. I think the constant human interaction is too much? He likes limited visits with breaks and his own space. He's friends with Sasha (the black Shepherd) but doesn't have to be placed with her. Wylie is about 4 years old now (as of June 2023). He's a tall lean boy. Husky/Shepherd/Malamute? They were breeding for dogs who resembled wolves. He fits that mold for sure. Wylie is good with most dogs at this point. Sasha rules him pretty firmly. He used be more of a bully, but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore. Wylie is part of our socially imperfect program. We made a commitment to him and we will honor that commitment. He needs a monthly sponsor to help cover his monthly preventatives and any other medical issues that come up as well as special treats. Just $50 a month and you can be this boy's sponsor. Send us a message if you are interested. If you want to adopt Wylie we will gladly talk with you and go over his past issues and see if your set up can work for him.

Story
Updated Bio as of June 2023: Jupiter was originally found as a lost pup with her 2 brothers in a corn field during winter. She nearly froze to death, she was so cold she couldn't run/move quickly and people were able to catch her. They were all very thin and had to fight to survive with the coyotes out there. Jupiter is learning to trust humans and will be a happy dog around me but still skittish over touch. With new people she will take time to warm up for sure. Jupiter's adoption fee is sponsored. She is ok with other dogs but initially acts like she's aggressive. It's the survival mode in her. Once she knows they aren't going to hurt her she warms up. She will need to be fed separately from other animals.

Not good with cats,
Story
Sasha came from a terrible hoarding situation. The lady liked to import German Shepherds from Germany and had a collection of black german shepherds. She wasn't able to care for them and they were neglected in training/socialization. Sasha needs some major training. If you haven't handled a working line German Shepherd she's probably not the one for you. She is intense. She's people friendly, wants to stay with you and stick by your side...but things that move can trigger her chase instinct and she is extremely bossy with dogs she likes and aggressive with dogs she doesn't like. She's never had rules/training. She's sweet with people, which is a blessing for sure. She's gorgeous and if someone spent time working with her she's going to be amazing. Are you the one for her? She's in Richmond, MO. Adoption fee is $200. She's probably 60-70 pounds and 2-3 years old.
