Story
Hello world. Our names are Demi (F) and Russell (M). We are barely over a year, nearly did not survive as younger pups, and then given the gift of love and kindness. So, here we are today. Our mom did not survive the cruel owner. But dad was his pride and joy, a large Belgian Malinois. Our owner did not care if we lived or died. At one point our littermates were coming down with parvo. This person did not care that our littermates were suffering. This very kind lady was persistent (all 5 feet tall). She came day after day until one day she told them she wasn't going to stand by and let us die too. Demi had all but given up. She was too weak to walk. The owner surrendering them loaded us up in her minivan. After a lot of TLC (tender loving care), medicine, and time, we came back to life. Today (08/13/2024), we do not slow down for pictures. We slow down enough for treats, dinner, and getting into our playard. We love all sizes of other dogs, we have been exposed to cats but have too much energy and love of life to say we are cat social. We love people, sort of leash trained, crate trained and for the most part house trained. We do get in a whole lot of playing and forget to go to the door. Our ideal home is active. Older children would be good. Have time to make us a part of your family. We want to please you. We are not a bonded pair. We would do great with or without another dog as company. Please request an application alittlelonger2home@gmail.com. Once you have received your application please fill out in full including your references email addresses. Next step is to submit your deposit to reserve me for your adoption.  See you soon Demi Female Spayed Breed Belgian Malinois mix Color Black and White Age 17 months old (As of 08/13/2024) Weight 49lbs Great with people, older children, dogs Adoption donation $525 Carlton Rescue- Operation Puppy Love 501c(3) (Like us on Facebook)

Story
Looking for a big personality in a medium-sized package? Meet Meredith, a stunning "Mini Malinois" who proves that the best things really do come in smaller sizes! At roughly 30 lbs, she’s the perfect size for any adventure, but don't let her stature fool you—she has every bit of the sass and intelligence of a full-sized Belgian Malinois. The Basics: • Age: Estimated 2–3 years old (the perfect young-adult age!) • Weight: 30 lbs • Breed: "Mini Malinois" (Small in size, huge in spirit) Personality & Training Meredith is a happy-go-lucky girl with an active engine. She’s always up for a game or a hike, and she’s already got the "indoor" stuff down pat. She is crate trained and potty trained when kept on a consistent schedule. While she is great with people, she prefers to take things at her own pace. She may take a little time to warm up to new faces, but once you’re in her inner circle, you’ve got a loyal friend for life. The Perfect Home Lil Mer gets along well with other dogs and would love a family that understands the "working dog" brain. Because of her Malinois-level energy and sass, she would do best in a home with older children (10+) who can respect her space and keep up with her play style. Meredith’s Must-Haves: • An active lifestyle. • A predictable routine. • Someone who appreciates a dog with a little bit of attitude and a lot of heart! Ready to bring some sass and sunshine into your life? Come meet Meredith and see if she’s the missing piece to your family! 🦴✨

Story
Meet Carter! Carter is a 3-year-old, 53lb pitbull mix with the sweetest heart and the silliest smile. This excited, loving boy has been waiting for over a year for someone to notice him—and he is so ready to finally find his forever person. Carter is the kind of dog who just wants to be someone’s best friend. He loves treats, hugs, toys, and anyone willing to appreciate his goofy, playful personality. He does great with other dogs (we recommend slow introductions) and would love a doggy sibling to romp around with—but he’d also be perfectly happy soaking up all the love as your one and only. It’s hard to believe no one has scooped him up yet, but that just means his perfect match is still out there. Carter is located in Houston, TX, and transport is included in his adoption fee—so he can travel straight to you! If you’re looking for a loyal, fun-loving companion who will shower you with unconditional love, Carter is your guy.

Story
Hello. Our names are Nadia (F), Kinsey (F), Nathan (M), and Skeeter (F). Our rescuer was told our mom was a Belgian Malinois and dad was a Border Collie. We were born on July 8, 2023. We were turned over to the rescue lady when we were babies. There were eight of us. Not long after arriving, we started to get sick. We four were and are the healthiest. When we were out playing in the yard, she often asked us where the babies went, who was sweet and shy. Who switched them out of your energizer bunnies, then laughed as we ran around like crazy kids? We are brilliant, treat motivated (easy to train), sulk when scolded, crate trained, shy at first but warm up quickly, not house or leash trained (quick learners), like cats, submissive to other dogs, and have never been around children. Our foster mom has commented how wonderful we would be on an agility course.  I want to go hiking, go to the beach, run around on snow deeper than I am tall, curl up with you in front of the fireplace, and watch a movie. I have only heard my foster mom talking about most of this stuff. If you have patience and teach me, I will love doing whatever you do. Please request an application to begin the adoption process at alittlelonger2home@gmail.com. Story
Meet Gunnar, your future best friend with a story of resilience and a heart of gold. Gunnar is a handsome German Shepherd who proves every single day that nothing can slow him down. After being hit by a car, Gunnar lost one of his legs, but he hasn’t lost an ounce of his spirit. This incredible tripod gets around with confidence, determination, and a joyful energy that’s truly inspiring to watch. Gunnar is as friendly as they come. He loves meeting new people and greets everyone like an old friend. He is friendly with other dogs out and about, however, at home he would prefer to be your one and only and soak up all the attention.  Don’t let the three legs fool you, Gunnar still enjoys walks, playtime, and being part of whatever you’re doing. He adapts beautifully and just wants to be included in a loving home where he can continue to thrive. Gunnar is looking for someone who sees how special he is, not in spite of his journey, but because of it. If you’re ready for a loyal, affectionate, and inspiring companion, Gunnar is ready to meet you. If you are interested in adopting this dog please complete the adoption application at www.rhodehomerescue.org/adoption-form to become a pre-approved adopter.   If you were already approved through Rhode Home Rescue within the last 6 months, contact us today! Story
Meet Max ❤️ This mellow, loyal 5‑year‑old German Shepherd is the definition of “chill”—a laid‑back guy who enjoys a slow, simple life and absolutely knows when he doesn’t feel like going for a walk. Max has lived peacefully with other dogs, is fully house‑trained and crate‑trained, and prefers a calm, predictable environment. He hasn’t met cats or kids before, so a home willing to introduce new things slowly and respectfully would be ideal. Max’s journey includes a small medical piece, but it’s one that’s easily supported with consistent care. He has hypothyroidism, a common condition where the thyroid glands don't produce enough of the thyroid hormone. Treatment is straightforward—just a daily medication—and many dogs with this condition live long, happy, normal lives. Hypothyroidism can make dogs lower‑energy or prone to weight gain, which actually aligns perfectly with Max’s relaxed, easygoing nature. He’ll thrive in a home that appreciates a slower pace, can keep up with his medication schedule, and wants a gentle, steady companion by their side. Apply to adopt Max today, or email dogs@rispca.org with any questions! 🐶
