Story
Quincy was given up by someone who adopted him directly from the owner one week ago, but couldn't handle his puppy energy and mouthing. He is timid when he first meets people, but warms up quickly and is then a silly, playful, and affectionate guy. We were told he is 11 weeks old and was the result of an accidental litter. He currently weighs 20 lbs. Because he is a Malinois mix, he will thrive with an owner who enjoys doing obedience training and other activities with their dog. He is working on his housebreaking. If you are interested in adopting a dog, please fill out our dog adoption application here: http://medfieldshelter.com/adopt. Our puppy adoption fee is $600. Every dog we place is vaccinated, wormed, treated for ticks/fleas, and spayed/neutered prior to adoption. We send each dog home with a collar and leash. With very few exceptions, dogs are happiest and the most well-behaved when they receive daily exercise and ongoing training, so we always prefer to place our dogs with families who are willing to make a commitment to both. All adoption meetings are by appointment only as we only have two employees. Our manager or one of our volunteers will be happy to set up an appointment for you to come meet the pets, but please fill out the adoption application first.

Story
Meet Carter! Carter is a 3-year-old, 53lb pitbull mix with the sweetest heart and the silliest smile. This excited, loving boy has been waiting for over a year for someone to notice him—and he is so ready to finally find his forever person. Carter is the kind of dog who just wants to be someone’s best friend. He loves treats, hugs, toys, and anyone willing to appreciate his goofy, playful personality. He does great with other dogs (we recommend slow introductions) and would love a doggy sibling to romp around with—but he’d also be perfectly happy soaking up all the love as your one and only. It’s hard to believe no one has scooped him up yet, but that just means his perfect match is still out there. Carter is located in Houston, TX, and transport is included in his adoption fee—so he can travel straight to you! If you’re looking for a loyal, fun-loving companion who will shower you with unconditional love, Carter is your guy.

Story
Hello world. Our names are Demi (F) and Russell (M). We are barely over a year, nearly did not survive as younger pups, and then given the gift of love and kindness. So, here we are today. Our mom did not survive the cruel owner. But dad was his pride and joy, a large Belgian Malinois. Our owner did not care if we lived or died. At one point our littermates were coming down with parvo. This person did not care that our littermates were suffering. This very kind lady was persistent (all 5 feet tall). She came day after day until one day she told them she wasn't going to stand by and let us die too. Demi had all but given up. She was too weak to walk. The owner surrendering them loaded us up in her minivan. After a lot of TLC (tender loving care), medicine, and time, we came back to life. Today (08/13/2024), we do not slow down for pictures. We slow down enough for treats, dinner, and getting into our playard. We love all sizes of other dogs, we have been exposed to cats but have too much energy and love of life to say we are cat social. We love people, sort of leash trained, crate trained and for the most part house trained. We do get in a whole lot of playing and forget to go to the door. Our ideal home is active. Older children would be good. Have time to make us a part of your family. We want to please you. We are not a bonded pair. We would do great with or without another dog as company. Please request an application alittlelonger2home@gmail.com. Once you have received your application please fill out in full including your references email addresses. Next step is to submit your deposit to reserve me for your adoption.  See you soon Demi Female Spayed Breed Belgian Malinois mix Color Black and White Age 17 months old (As of 08/13/2024) Weight 49lbs Great with people, older children, dogs Adoption donation $525 Carlton Rescue- Operation Puppy Love 501c(3) (Like us on Facebook)

Story
Introducing Roxy! What’s the first thing you think when you see Roxy? “Whoa… those are some crazy eyes.” Same. But trust us those eyes have seen a lot. Eyes that came minutes away from being euthanized. And now? They suit her perfectly, because Roxy is crazy in all the best ways: - Crazy smart Roxy has classic puppy energy and is still learning how to channel it but in a short time she already knows sit and lay down, is great in a kennel, and is mostly potty trained. With continued training, we’re 100% confident she’ll be an incredibly smart, loyal best friend for an experienced owner. - Crazy friendly Cats? Dogs? Kids? Men? Women? Yes to all. She can be a bit of a bull in a china shop, so she may not be ideal for very small kids but she truly loves everyone she meets. - Crazy athletic She walks well on leash, hops right into the car, and is ready to be your adventure ride-or-die. Hiking, running, exploring there’s no active hobby we can imagine that she wouldn’t love doing right by your side. So if you’re looking to adopt a high-energy, fiercely loyal best friend, in the wise words of TLC: “Don’t go chasing waterfalls.” Go adopt Roxy instead. She’s crazy. She’s sexy. She’s cool. And she’s waiting for her person. Roxy is being fostered in Houston Texas but is available for adoption many places across the country. Adoption fee includes the cost of transport. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DSTR/Dog
