Story
Willa is an athletic & energetic dog who likes being outside and having the space to run! She was abandoned in our neighborhood so we don't know her history, but we've had her spayed, vaccinated, crate-trained, through some obedience training, and taught her to live with 2 older dogs. She's part Belgian Malinois, Australian Cattle Dog, Siberian Husky and a little bit Carolina Dog & German Shepherd. Even though she's a medium-sized dog, she likes playing with the big dogs. She's pretty smart, loves chasing bouncy balls, and is fairly good at leash walking (unless a squirrel crosses our path). She can be very sweet, likes having her tummy rubbed, and loves attention. Willa has a high prey drive and some insecurities, so we think she'll do best with an experienced owner who knows how to train & work with active dogs.

******Please note, once completing the initial screen you will be connected with the placement for a video chat. Transports run every few weeks and we will have the dog on the next available transport once approved. If you are not able to accept a dog until a specific time period, please apply at that time************ We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you area not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. We really do not want to waste anyone's time if you are not serious about adopting this dog. Sarge is a neutered 2 year old Belgian Malinois/German Shepherd mix currently being fostered in Denver, CO. Sarge is an outgoing, playful, and affectionate boy with a big personality and an even bigger love for fun. He is smart, curious, and full of energy, and he thrives when he has opportunities to play, explore, and be active with his people. Sarge loves other dogs and is always eager to make friends. He will happily nudge a dog to invite them to play and enjoys running and tug of war, especially with dogs his size or larger. While he gets excited and may pull toward dogs on leash, he is not aggressive and does well with slow, proper introductions. He is great at picking up on cues and will back off when another dog is done playing. Sarge has a moderate to high energy level and would do best in an active home. He would love daily walks, hikes, playtime, and mental stimulation. A fenced yard would be a big bonus, but he could also thrive with a family committed to keeping him exercised. He would do well with or without another dog in the home. On leash, Sarge could use some continued training. He is strong and tends to pull, but he responds well to guidance and does great with a gentle leader. He is fully house trained and crate trained, sleeping in his crate overnight and when his people are out. He can also be trusted with free roam, as he is not destructive. Sarge is a total lovebug with people. He is very cuddly, affectionate, and happy to greet new friends, though he may jump a bit when excited. He loves toys and proudly hoards them, lining them up one by one like treasured possessions. One of his cutest habits is doing a full somersault onto his dog bed after running inside. Sarge would be an amazing match for an active person or family looking for an adventure buddy. Older kids or dog savvy children would be best since he can be jumpy when excited. With continued leash training, plenty of toys, and lots of outdoor time, Sarge will be a loyal, joyful companion. ***Listed BREED and AGE - We are taking our best guess & recommendations from our veterinarian on age, breed and size when fully grown. Story
Leo is here offering a rare opportunity as the sweetest, toy-loving, cat-tolerant, confident, athletic pint-sized power house boy. His size alone had us all in love then as we got to know him all we could say was “Oh man, he is such a cool dog!” We cannot guarantee breed or birthday with rescue dogs but Leo is bringing so many qualities and the looks of a mid-size Malinois mix. I think he is trying to prove that great things really do come in smaller packages! Estimated to be about 1 years old and weighing in at a perfectly portable 31 lbs! You read that right, hes tiny! Leo offers all the brilliance, athleticism, and heart of a full-size Malinois, just in a compact frame. What a dream, a “fun-size” working dog with drive and loyalty, but much easier to fit on your couch. Take a look for yourself, you'll see what I mean- https://youtu.be/mVz--MTGm5w Leo is so fortunate and is being fostered in a multi-dog home with an experienced foster which means, Leo basically comes pre-programed with the “Good-Boy” Package. House and crate trained, good house manners, well-socialized, seriously it's a pretty sweet package- plus someone who is familiar with him and can answer any questions you might have about him. My favorite thing about Leo is just how social, people-loving band affectionate it. We see a lot of dogs with a high drive and they don’t often melt for attention, Leo though understands that you can work hard and love hard, you don’t have to pick just one. He is curious, affectionate, and thrives on engagement, whether it’s training time, adventure time, or playtime. My next favorite thing is Leo+ a toy! Give him a toy and you’ll immediately see him light up and his inner puppy come out, complete with 110% play shaking the toy and bouncing around with the happiest tail wags. True to his Malinois roots, Leo is a smart, food-motivated learner who responds beautifully to structure and consistency. He has great basic leash skills and continues to perfect walking alongside you with ease, and improving every day. Because he’s both eager to please and athletic, he would excel in training, agility, or any activity that lets him use his brain and body. Leo is dog social and thrives with balanced, confident dog companions though he would be a perfect solo dog in a home where he gets plenty of exercise and engagement, aka- attention. Leo is cat-tolerant with a strong curiosity and playfulness so a dog savvy cat and slow introductions will be key if he lives with feline friends. Apartments are not exactly his style, he would love a yard but could adapt to apartment life with an active adopter ready to channel his energy into fun and structure outside of the apartment life. If you’ve been dreaming of a compact adventure buddy who’s equal parts smarts and heart, Leo is here, ready and waiting for you. The perfect blend of a love for life and loyal affection, this little love-joy is ready to take on the world right by your side. Ready to welcome this amazing, one-of-a-kind friend into your life? Story
This is Nelly or RiNela if you want to call her by her legal name. She came to us through a foster program and she has been a wonderful companion. She is loyal, kind, gentle, and adventurous. She loves going on hikes but she is equally happy cuddling up to us in bed. She takes to training very well and is housebroken, knows to sit, heel on the leash, lay down, where her bed is, and how to be gentle with kids. She has lived with us an our cats for a little over a year. She gets along ok with the cats although she does like to chase and play with them. One of our cats is ok with it the other not so much.Which brings us to why were putting her up for adoption. Myself and my partner are both pursuing changes in our careers and we dont have the time that we used to have. Because of this we no longer have the ability to let out her energy and keep up with her training which is a very important part of keeping a GSD. She will come with all the things you need to get started. Thanks
